Because any good map editors are for fantasy and I need to make a cyberpunk-ish city.

4. Good, now draw some rectangles along the squigglies.
5. Those are your houses.
6. The weirdest-looking rectangle is a church of major faith.
7. The biggest rectangle in the center is town hall/castle/imperial palace/Chief's blinged-out throne
8. Draw some squigglies along the sides of the image, then flood fill everything inside with brown.
9. Flood fill squigglies and rectangles with darker shade of brown.

Have a general outline of what you want the character to be like and define his porpoise within the story .
Build the rest of the character in relation to how pc interact with him/her.

Everyone does everything for a reason, sometimes that reason is they're stupid and make bad decisions.

Always keep in mind, no matter how important an NPC is to the plot, no matter what you have planned in your head for them, no matter what plothooks they're part of... the players may not show any interest in them at all or actively dislike them and avoid them. Whatever you do, do NOT keep trying to shove that NPC in the player's faces, they WILL accuse you of railroading. Make a different NPC who serves the same narrative role if you have to.

Keep the story about the players, not the NPCs. I was recently in a game where the party was working for the king of empire and so much of the RP was about what a badass the King and his family was that us players started to feel like we really had no reason to be there. Like, he wasn't a GM self-insert or anything, but he had so much power and influence that us fucking up didn't really matter cos he'd just fix it somehow every time. There was no tension or fear of failure.

I know alot of people say not to let the NPCs overshadow the players, but the reverse is also true. The NPCs shouldn't all be helpless level 2 peasants that the players can kill without consequence. There should be NPCs that can kick the party's asses if they get on their bad side, especially if said NPCs are wealthy or important people who can afford body guards.

If an NPC is in the party, they should cover a role nobody else in the party can cover. If you've got a party full of melee fighters, for example, and you;re investigating ruins with magical traps... yeah, fine, let them ask the local mage's guild for one of their students as an escort.
That being said, never make this NPCs unique roll SO important that all decision-making and choice in the story falls to them. The players should always be the ones making decisions, until they CHOOSE to ask the NPC to do it.

If a player's character has a particular skill or hobby, thrown an NPC at them with similar interests, aspiring alchemist, smith, ect.. Player's like being mentors.

Monster Hunter works this way on a lot of hunts. Half the time something's gotten into a place where it can easily disrupt the native wildlife and needs to be taken out.

Sometimes there's a surplus of monsters and sometimes something non-native has shown up and if left for too long will cause lasting damage to the environment.

Smartest thing to do is to build the towns where the monsters aren't, or figure out how to ward away monsters. Monster Hunter has you smearing the village's wall with monster blood to ward them off.

Holy shit I'm only learning about this now, this whole thing just gets worse and worse the more I hear about it.

What I imagined when I heard of the Founder's Packs was an MMO. An unbalanced, P2W MMO that lagged constantly, was buggy as all fuck, and had barely any promises kept, but still an MMO.

The way the game has turned out in reality has actually managed to become worse than my worst fears.

The lobby shooter transformation and the constant lore rape from people who kept saying shit like "rev up your chainswords" and "grab your bolters" in early blog posts, like a grandparent trying too hard to be cool, is legit like the final post of an intentionally over the top, humorous reply chain listing more and more features that would be cut towards launch, with the joke being that there's no way they could actually fuck up that bad.

What the actual fuck is this game?

Alright anons but some heart and thinking into this.

In Wow let's say that after the sundering Humans ended up in Kalimdor, instead of the eastern kingdoms. How would this change the political, social, and cultural aspects of the different races in WoW? What would play out differently?

Here are my thoughts on this:

In the Eastern Kingdoms:
>The Amani Empire is still alive and powerful, and therefore are able to halt the Orcish invasions, although it would weaken the empire
>Blood Elven Kingdom is strong enough to hold the Amani Empire back and remain independent thanks to their magic.
>Orcs invade, but are defeated, they later relocate somewhere else in the Eastern Kingdom and form a new nation (since humans aren't there with their 7 kingdoms and shit).
>Dwarves are Dwarves and not give a shit like a boss. But probably helps the Amani defeat the Orcs. I also believe the different clans would be far closer since there is a huge empire next door.

Kalimdor:
>There are always huge tensions between the Night Elves and Humans due to their cultures.
>Since they evolve in a different continent than the Eastern Kingdoms I would say that Human aesthetic and culture would more closely resemble the East such as Arabia, India, and Japan (not China because Panda has that going on) than the more Western aesthetics Eastern Kingdoms Humans have.
>With two large Empires in the continent (Humans and Night Elves) the Tauren would unite in an effort to stand up and balance the Human and Night Elven powers.
