So where did GW get the inspiration for Lucius the Eternal from?

I really like the character and just wondered if they ripped it from somewhere or if it was an actual original creation.

I definitely think Lucius is one of, if not the, best unique character from a flavor standpoint.

My *personal* favorite is Ahriman though. A sorcerer so ambitious that he means to make himself a god and usurp Tzeentch, his own patron, who just looks at this and says "I like this kid, he's got Moxie!" and makes him his chosen champion.

>In Awakening, magic is god. God is everywhere. Mages have made contact with god and see his hands in everything. But the world is fallen, impure, as are they, so their ideal is being able to become one with god.
>Note: God is not a bearded figure who wants anything, it's just a force of order that pushed back the primordial chaos, like a supernatural big bang

This is argued about a LOT in-setting.
The Mysterium literally believe this. The other major factions have different ideas.

Reposting something nice from the last thread:

Btw, this is what I was thinking of doing if running Werewolf The Apocalypse. Keep in mind this is me interpreting the setting as I see fit. Some of this is just me stressing up some parts over others while some parts are fluff changes.

-The main theme is 'divided we fall': the Garou are supposed to be a pack, yet their society is incredibly divided. Not only did they purge the other shapechanger species, breaking the unity of gaia's children they now fight each others too much to properly combat the Wyrm.

-The White Howlers didn't all fall to become the Black Spiral Dancers. But this also mean that most, if not all of the shattered tribes have pockets of their population which are full-blown Wyrm worshipper for a variety of reasons. Croatoan and Bunyip are still extinct.

-Garou vs Garou conflict is complicated, ranging from territorial dispute over remaining Caern to major ideological split, which range from Pure vs Corrupted (as close as good vs evil it can get) to debate about the future of mankind and how to handle it. This was already there with the Red Talons, only its stressed more here. Some tribes, meanwhile, want to purge other tribes/Garou group because they hold them to be weak/impure (again, Red Talon but also bringing back the crazy neo nazi sub-sect of the Get of Fenris). Some packs are also Wyrm-influenced, althought this is different from going full blown Black Spiral. The former don't think they are insane, the latter go all GLORY TO CHAOS!

-The other shapechanger (those that remain) want to kill the Garou in acts of spiteful revenge. If the game already like to stress a lot of the guilt of the white man and western civilization over shitty actions in their past then I would definately stress up the fact the Garou have their own shitty history to account for, with some people wanting to hurt Garou which have technically done nothing wrong (but their ancestors did).

Giving yourself up to the Supernal is a rough choice, it involves destroying your identity and agency, basically everything you are.

Doesn't make it any less bloated. It's pretty obvious that the writer had no idea where they were going with the plot.

Plus, trying for a more realistic take on superheroes and still having them dress up in costume and fight crime... it doesn't work.

Still, it has some neat ideas and the characterization is decent.

Hello /tg/ I'm in the process of raising funds for a product launch and I want to know what you look for in a kickstarer.

What backer rewards do you like?
Personal credit rewards like getting your name in the book, little extras like dice bags, getting to name or design characters for the product? Play sessions with developers? Or do you just want the product and nothing fancy?

What information do you like included? Do you want to see how they plan to spend the money? A sneak peak of the content? Does the intro video need to be funny? Or well made? Does a video matter at all?

Do you have a policy against ever supporting kickstarter? And if so why.

Any imput would be really helpful.

>Fetch quests are a fetish
This explains so much.
>>
>>46454177
Out of the box, Ironclaw is a lot more Redwall than it is Sonic OC, but to answer your question, yes, plenty of fetish systems exist.

>Fatal
Goes without saying. For your guro scat large insertion rape fetish and a whole bunch more.

>Maid
Can be run without inserting fetishes, but provides ample opportunity for, of course, maids. Also lolis, robots, magical girls, tentacles, and pretty much any other anime fetish.

>D&D 3.PF
These both have fetish supplements including but not limited to Nymphology and whatever the recent PF one was called. Nymphology has a lot of basic sex stuff as well as fetishy spells and a bunch of information on the different species interbreeding. The Pathfinder one is pants-on-head retarded and introduces a buncho f new classes that fight by using their body-parts. the 'rogue' class is calle dthe Backdoor, for examp0le, and is all about performing surprise buttsecks XD. There's also a Siegshclong class dedicated to using the penis like a cannon for taking down walls by firing high-speed shots of cum.

>Nechronica
A game about undead lolis fighting each other but also being codependent and forming unhealthy attachments to each other. Fetish is not mandatory, but is pretty obviously an influence and an option. Is it still necrophilia if they're still up and about?

>Wreatheu
I'm not even sure I spelled that right. Magical hermaphroditic post-humans with flower-dicks hunt down the remaining humans to forcibly convert them into more post-human hermaphrodites via rape, for which the former humans are supposed to be grateful. The cover of the book prominently features the aforementioned flower-dick.

So frankly, Ironclaw is looking pretty good. Just because they got a shitty artist to do the cover, that doesn't mean the insides are the same. A kitchen flooring catalogue isn't considered porn just because of that one anon, after all.
>>
>>46455042
Don't forget that Pathfinder has a lot of stuff that is already heavily fetishistic, including a (admittedly chaotic evil) goddess dedicated to getting herself and other people with monsters. There's also Harlot Sweets for those into bimbofication. And don't even get me started on the Enchantment spell school.

If you don't think its worth that much, don't buy it. GW only has as much power over you as you let it.

I would like to play a tiefling in my campaign. Our campaign revolves around Waterdeep so tieflings are not so impossible and DM has cleared me.

I understand that /tg/ does not like tiefling much, what can I do to avoid the sort of pitfalls that gave people bad impression of tieflings, except the obvious "don't make edgemaster backstory".

So ... I'd ask for some assessment/ideas on my concept, /tg/.

I want to present kobolds to my new group. I want to present them mainly as intelligent and not inhenrently violent.

So I was thinking ... what do you think of an idea of kobolds moving into mostly human-settled badlands? There they pick a nice hill and fill it with tunnels. They secure it with all sorts of traps, prepare murderholes. Then I was thinking ... What If they used this place for something more/better then just a raiding staging point. I don't know - a bank, some sort of aid to other settlements? How could such a place benefit the region? Also I hope to find something kobolds can profit from.

What do you guys think? Any ideas much appreciated as well as trap ideas or maps of underground lairs.

>>
what's an kobold?
>>
>>46453348
I like the idea of kobold bankers. It makes a nice niche for them in the fantasy world, without really displacing any other fantasy race, and even gives a little pun to the term "gnomes of zurich", if we're going with more folkloric kobolds. Also the mining probably helps with banking really well, lots of raw resources to use as capitol.

It would probably benefit a region the same way that banks in general benefit a region. You have middlemen(bolds) for mercantile deals, a secure and trap-infested place to hide your money from enterprising rogues, and a place to borrow money, from a species that are basically the closest thing you can get to "draconic business practices" without involving an actual dragon.

On that note, you could probably also have a dragon run the place. A free horde that people just give you? Sounds like fun to me.
>>
>>46453383
They used to be dog-people. Then later editions of DnD made them into this weird canon-fodder race of subterranean dragon-children who are basically on par with goblins.

I believe my friend stole my Lord of the Void and I don't know how to approach the situation.

I left my collection of rares with him overnight to look at for trades, because I trusted him, but maybe that was a mistake.

I can't prove it though, so I haven't confronted him about it, but I was with him when we went to a card shop and he revealed to me he stole a Glen Elendra Archmage, so I know he is capable of doing it.

The thing that he stole was only like 4$ in value but the fact that he did really fucking pisses me off. But I am probably just gonna let it go and secure my shit in the future.

I don't know, what would you do?
22 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Ask him if he did. However it's obvious you don't trust him if your first reaction was to suspect him and not think you misplaced it. Revealing you don't trust him will lose his trust. That's not shit you get back easily.
>>
>>46453138
I mean I explicitly remember looking at this card in preparation for putting in a new deck and storing in a tiny box where I keep all my valuable cards.
I left the box with him for a whole night, and then it was gone.
Is it really that wrong for me to suspect him? Although I am not the most warm person I suppose.
>>
>>46453138
I also asked him if I had actually traded it to him, but he revealed to me he already got one from the sealed draft we BOTH played in together, which I found awfully convenient.

I recently started loking into fantasy carthography. Pic related is my first attempt (rate it, give advice etc).

Do you use maps in games? Do you like making them? Do you prefer Black and white, colored, other types fo maps? Have you ever seen an EVIL map. Like you give it a look and say, this place is evil.

In our campaign our DM made a map of his world and we digitaly edited it to add a dick in place of an island. He didn't notice for 2 weeks.

Let's talk about maps.

Some nitpicks:

The map is made to look like an actual map, but the roads and trails are only shown in the mountains.

The river on the lower right part doesn't make much sense, it would usually flow in direction of the sea.

Yeah the river is even worse then you think. It is river that starts from the ocean and end in the same ocean. I was tracing from a SJW fantasy novel I'm reading.

For trails I had a problem. There were supposed to be trails in th emountain but I couldn't make it clear enough with mountain placement that people should could pass there. I opted for doing mountain only roads but the fact that it is something that jumps to the eye makes it a bad decision.
