You look down at the grisly scene of your victory. Your fathers cherished axe, lodged in the skull of the man who killed him. Blood and other fluids flow from his gaping. Skull, mixing in the grey mud below. Looking up into the storming sky above you, you raise your fists in the air and yell victoriously. A bolt of lighting strikes the earth nearby, likely the Gods showing their approval for finally seeking vengeance on your wretched foe. You fall backwards into the muck that immediately tries to pull you deeper. The pain in your wounds starts to fade as your life trickles out of them, mixing in the grime with your enemy's. You know this is the end. Soon you will be in Valhalla, with your father and his father and all of your warrior ancestors, and a mighty feast will be held in honor of your deeds. You see and feel the pure light of a Valkyrie pull you up to the sky, as your identity fades away. You are finally free.

You wake up on what feels like cold metal. A bright light stings your eyes, and you shoot upright, and begin to look around. You're only clothing is a form fitting pair of strange grey pants. Your arms are bound by two metal brackets that stay attached to each through unknown means. The room you are in is the size of a barn, but it is six sided and split into six sections by a glass that is almost invisible. The rest of the room is made of extremely shiny iron or silver. An orb in the center of a ceiling about 8 feet above illuminates the room. But these are not the things you notice first. Instead, you focus on the three monsters that occupy some of the other cells. The first one you notice is the most humanlike. It has a torso like a human female, but it's skin is like a frog's, and it is colored bright purple with a cream underbelly. It's legs are shaped like a dog's, with nailless toes in front and and one in the back. Her arms are long and slender, with four extra long fingers that extend from her wrist. Her face is somewhat human, but her eyes are large and pitch black, and two antennas that extend from small holes move up and down erratically. Instead of hair, a large dark-blue boney crest extends from the top of her head. Her waist and breasts are covered in a garb like yours She glances at you, and looks away quickly, her crest turning a bright red. The next beast is even stranger.

It has a yellow bulbous abdomen with four spindly spider legs and two arms that end in mantis claws. A long neck covers in brown chiton plates extends from the middle, ending in a ant's head with a second pair of arms near its mouth. It doesn't seem to notice you, and instead skitters around in a frenzy. The final creature is the strangest. It has two legs and four thin tentacles, but its body is some sort of greed slime that holds a visible bone structure and numerous strange organs. It's "head" is a slime covered mass of eyes. This is not the Valhalla you had in mind. Do you....

Reposting fluff:

Each Hive Tyrant is the master of a chapter-swarm of a bit over 1000 smaller bugs. Each of these chapter-swarms is divided into ten brood-companies, the first spawned containing large numbers of warriors and hive guard, and the tenth containing lictors and genestealers. The other brood-companies are primarily gaunts.

Each brood-company is controlled by a Tyranid Prime, with a retinue of four Venomthropes and a Malanthrope, while the Hive Tyrant has a retinue of Tyrant Guard.

Each brood-company has several monstrous creatures and warriors to keep them in line, while the most horrendous bio-monstrosities are spawned apart from the main ten broods and join various broods as the planetary invasion requires. Similarly, Zoanthropes are loaned out to the broods as seen fit.

Depends on what the player wants to portray. They're pretty flexible fluff-wise. I've had players who draw their powers from powerful forgotten deities that allow them a sampling of their powers for unknowable purposes and I've had players with more direct contracts with extra-planar beings. They can all work pretty well.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game.

I suggest we have their Dynasty be larger, since they woke up in M38, they'd have quite an advantage over other Dynasties, and since they're builders they would have the ability to expand and build faster, as well as maintain their empire.

Unless we want to keep them small, but with extreme defensive abilities, their worlds built to perfection, even by Necron standards?

Anyways, for a couple topics:

>Introduction:

You drive to what looks like some old bingo hall on East Island and spend a good 5 minutes trying to find a parking spot before giving up and walking about half a mile to the entrance. On a second glance, you recognise it from FightChan via "CopyPasta": Allegedly, this place once hosted a crazy, open hardcore pro wrasslin' tourney that only stopped when somebody called in the National Guard. OK, sure, it might just be an urban legend, but you're sore about not being able to go to that. Hell, just WATCHING something like that with the rest of the marks would've been fun, worked shoot or not...

3 days a week, you work at a hole-in-the-wall called "Cafe de Paradiso" as a barista. Half the time there, you feel like killing somebody; If the pay wasn't as good as it is thanks to some mobsters laundering money through the place, you WOULD'VE killed someone there already.

Another 3 days a week, you do classes at some guy's knock-off Kyokugen Karate dojo as part of your "Rehabilitation" (Something you agreed to do instead of letting your instructor's daughter making a citizen's arrest on you during the "Ellie Riots"). Half the time you're in class, you feel like killing yourself just to end the sheer pain and struggle you have to put up with from Tatsuya-Sensei's relentless training drills; Sometimes you think about committing a crime just to get your ass in jail to get time off to rest and heal all of your bruises.

Twice a week, you have to do both and don't get home until around 10 PM at night, by which point you're straining to stay awake to take a shower and go to bed.

Fridays, though, are what keep you centered. Keeps all of the bullshit and drama from work and the dojo from eating away at your sanity; Keeps your head clear... It's one of your two precious days off, sure, but Fridays are going to start to have a bigger meaning for you.

"Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to this week's Real Bout!"

Real Bout as a tournament hasn't really been a major thing since the old heavy-hitters like the Bogard Brothers, Joe Higashi & Blue Mary all moved on to competing in KOF and regulars like Rick Strowd & Franco Bash retired (Not to mention whatever happened to Yamazaki, The Jin Twins & that one Jackie Chan lookalike). With that said, the "Casual" vibe you got from spectating the last few Real Bouts is completely absent tonight; This place is packed to the rafters with people. It makes you wonder why it's so crowded; Maybe there are scouts looking for some fresh new face to add to their King of Fighters team? And if what Kazahaya said is true, then...?

Whatever. You're too scared about having any "Ring Rust" while you're out there to care about shit like that. Focus, damn it! FOCUS!

That's better. Hell, you calmed down enough that you don't even notice Tatsuya-Sensei tapping you on the should-Wait WHAT.

"About time you noticed me! Thought your brain switched off there for a second."

"It might have" you crack. "Uh... No disrespect Sensei, but why are you here?"

"What? A proud teacher like myself can't show up to cheer on his students during their first fight outside of the dojo?" He pauses, then admits "I was here for that one police trainee girl in our class. She's fighting tonight too."

Wait, there's another girl in your class? Huh... Probably the one that looks like a boy.

Tatsuya clears his throat, holding up a suitcase to you. "Look, I'm alright with you doing this; It's healthy to fight other styles on a regular basis and I'm not the kind of guy that would stop you... Hell, I let Pumpkin sneak out and do it the day she turned 16 and didn't say a word until she lost and got tore up for the first time."

"Yeah? Good for you family man, but I've got to sign up-"

"-But I think you should keep a low profile and fight under an assumed name, or with a costume or something" Tatsuya concludes.
>>
>>46437224

>A. "Hold my place in the line then Sensei. I'll have to get changed."

>B. "I'm fighting under my real name tonight. I'm through with hiding behind costumes and masks."

>C. Tell him you'll only do that if you can bust out some sweet Pro-Wrestling moves you've been itching to try.

>D. "If that's the case, I'll just watch it tonight with you."

Sheepgirl Civ Quest Part 1.jpg
2MB, 2000x1346px
You are Lucie, chief shepherd of the Lanatae, and it is Late Summer in the Year 389. Long ago, your flock fled the great steppe of the west and settled in the heartland of the Empire. The Empire is either unwilling or unable to offer protection to your flock any longer, and marauding armies crash against its borders. Two years ago you led your flock from the imperial heartland and journeyed south, into the unexplored region beyond its borders. After a harsh trek through great forests, frozen mires, and tremendous mountains, your flock enters an enormous vale. It is surrounded on nearly all sides by sheer cliffs and mountains, possesses a large lake, and does not appear to be home to any dangerous monsters.

After convening with the other shepherds, it has been decided that this vale will be your new home, though there is still a great deal of work to be done. For now, your flock is encamped along the shore of the great lake, but these lodgings will not sustain you through winter, and the grazing lands here are covered in thick evergreens. There is also the serious problem of finding mates, as all Lanatae are female and must mate with a humanoid male in order to reproduce. Some of the imperial men, who had taken wives among the flock, have come with you, but most are now well past their prime. The last winter was especially hard on them, and unlike Lanatae they cannot subsist on grasses and forbs. They are, however, much stronger and more wary than nearly anyone in the flock. Lanatae are naturally frightful and timid, unsuited to battle, but these men are mostly former legionaries and have brought bows and swords with them. Of course you would rather that implements of that kind were unnecessary, but you're glad to have some protection all the same.

Settling in to a small tent erected on the edge of the water, you look out into the vale. Tall pines sway gently in the distance, along the water and beneath snowy peaks. A comfortable heat has settled in with the breeze, and most of the flock is grazing idly nearby. The men appear to be gathering brushwood for a fire.
As you wonder on where to start, you are reminded that you did not come entirely unprepared. The provincial governor had been on good terms with your flock and offered you some assistance before you departed. What was it again?

A. A great record of imperial history by the famed scholar Telemecus focusing on the Lanatae, which also includes some discussion and schematics of imperial technologies

B. Several sets of masterfully crafted steel tools, each including an axe, a pick, a shovel, and a hammer, along with a legionary field manual which has instructions on basic fortification and limited architecture

C. A magical talisman capable of minor alchemical changes, and locating items of subjective value up to a distance of 20km

D. A holy talisman of the imperial goddess Viride, patron of agriculture and fertility, which has several useful effects, ranging from predicting the weather to ensuring an untroubled pregnancy

In addition, he sent one of his retainers, a young, unmarried man along with you to serve as an advisor. The man, Lucius, is possessed of a special skillset. What was it?

1. Lucius was a hunter who served in the retinue of the provincial governor. He is an expert marksman, tracker, and scout.

2. Lucius was a legionary commander who fought on the frontlines against the barbarian invaders. He is well versed in tactics and strategy, and is himself a fine soldier.

3. Lucius was a master mason who trained under the famous Grand Mason Mikus Haduccus. He is not only an excellent mason and architect, but also a decent merchant.
