So I played this today for the first time, and there are some rules I'm unsure about. Using 2e since one of us bought that a while back.

First, when do you do power checks? Do you do an opposed Invisibility vs Spot when using that power to go invisible in front of someone? Also is someone with superhearing unaffected by invisibility, or is there some check there like Superhearing vs Stealth? I was made to do a medium DC Invis check to make my clothes invisible as well but succeeding that I just shot people without them being able to see me and while that was against scrubs if there is a villain without powers countering that it seems very strong.

Is the max save amount including equipment, so someone with +10 CON wearing platemail would gain nothing from the +6 toughness?

How do you down people with ranged attacks? Just shoot again and again to bruise more and more to eventually get them?

How do Duplicates take actions? Do they have their turn on your initiative? I can create up to 5 with one action. Do they then get an action after being created, or do they have to wait until next round?

Suddenly, your mind is racing as an operator in a frayed pile of long disused connections tries to recall where last everything went when the terminals were in service. Who were you, what were you?

>Yesterday on the All Guardsmen Party:

On the outskirts of the minor war occurring in the middle of the evidence warehouse, a group of genestealer cultists finally finished off the Inquisitorial minions that had been keeping them from the cell that contained their master. They clustered around the cell door and began hacking at it with their claws and weapons, but paused at the sound of approaching footsteps and turned to face the new threat.

Twitch came around the corner at a dead sprint, saw the group of mutated cultists, sighted on an alley on the far-right side of their group, closed his eyes, and triggered the under-barrel flash grenade launcher on his pulse-carbine. He barreled into the stunned cultists, knocking two aside with his shoulders and nearly tripping over a third, and somehow managed to push his way through them to the alley he had targeted, where he slammed head-first into a crate. Twitch reeled backwards, barely dodged a falling crate marked "CLASS-5 FORBIDDEN XENOTECH", and staggered into the alley before any of the cultists could follow. Behind him there was a high-pitched "WAAAGH" and the distinctive sound of a warp-propelled hand-truck slamming through bodies like a demented war-chariot.

There was a split second where Twitch worried that he'd under-estimated the Weirdboy's momentum and the xenos would just bowl through the cultists and keep chasing, but then he hear a horrible schlorp sound and a bellow of: "YOUZ GETS A SQUIGGIN, AND YOUZ GETS A SQUIGGIN, AND YOUS GETS A SQUIGGIN, EVERYONE GETS A ZOGGIN SQUIGGIN." With that, Twitch declared the plan a success, and began working his way towards the Daemonthrope crater. After a minute or so he ran into Nubby, who complained that he was tired of dragging Fumbles and insisted Twitch take a turn. Fumbles groaned and asked whether he could be carried upright, as the floor was really beginning to chafe.

The three of them arrived back at the crater just in time to see Doc get stabbed in the face.

Welcome back, to the fourth installment of Mecha Space Pirate Quest.

Last time, you blooded your as-of-yet nameless mech with an UJCIDF Pumpkinseed by ripping it apart with your powerful arm servos and claiming its red mohawk crest as a trophy. You believe you may also have made a friend, and an enemy, in the other two pilots. Now, at last, you've returned to your home base, the armored Heavy Striker troop carrier of the Iron Kestrels.

Your mech touches down on the remaining left-wing bay with a clunk. You see members of the Iron Kestrels everywhere in their black shades and black leather jackets, scurrying around repairing Harpies and damaged parts of the ship, but what dominates the bay is Captain Ozark's Master Harpy. Smaller than your new machine, but still towering head and shoulders over the other Harpies, in human form it has a head like a bishop's miter with a crescent-shaped eyeslit in its blank-faced head. At least, that's how it normally looks. The front of the chest and the cockpit in the lower portion of the head have been crushed like a cheap can, with a wide vertical gash across both servos that leaves the interior mechanisms exposed. Medical equipment on hover carts surrounds the damaged machine like a constellation of plastic and chrome, tubes and wires snaking their way into the cockpit. Beyond that are circles of candles, with small clusters of flowers and individual tokens from the surviving Kestrels.

It's a bad sign, but you were prepared for this after talking to Miles and Richard. What you weren't as prepared for was being hugged three times before you can take your first step down off the liftwire, and being bombarded with questions as to how you survived and what your new machine is.

Quest Start

You and your sister stare in confusion at the prostrating girl before you on your back porch as your mother’s garden extends behind you in the calm evening dark. Lit by the porch spotlight and the over spill of light from the back door into the kitchen, her low shadow stretches out before you as she presents the orange and yellow case of the injection pen.

You don’t know how she came across it, though you can imagine how she knows what it is.

“What is that,” your little sister, Koyomi, wonders aloud as her eyes first transfix on the item until they flash with certain recognition.

She pauses at that, she’s likely been briefed on exactly what this is. Psionic power and potential in a bottle, a weapon of the enemy to turn hired thugs or willing normal humans into weapons without turning them into monsters.

The girl kneeling before you, hands upturned with this terrible find presented to you, is your classmate Saori Umeki. For weeks she had been turned into such a monsters and still has scattered memories of her time in the thrall of the yet fully known darkness tied to your family’s past until you saved her from that fate and purified their corrupting transformation from her and returning her to her normal life.

Though, maybe normal is being too generous as far as she’s concerned.

Then again, you aren’t exactly the poster child for normalcy despite your now disregarded efforts to that end.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game.
