You, Neliel, Alistair and your entourage of about thirty other hollows are facing a strange hollow whose appearance eerily resembles that of the old medieval plague doctors.
During your march across the Forest of Menos this adjuchas came before you and claims that he only wishes to talk, truly an odd thing coming from a hollow.

"You claim that the only reason you are here is because you were curious?
Pardon me for not believing someone I've just met."
Neliel is the one who is conversing with him, simply because she is the only one he apparently recognizes as an individual.
He is seemingly ignoring everyone else.

"But of course!
Since we've only just met you have no reason to distrust me, correct?"
The bird like being responds in a most annoying tone, you can practically feel the smugness radiating from those slimy words of his.

"So if I tell you what we are doing then you'll leave us alone?"

The crow like menos keeps pacing back and forth as he is clearly eyeing up Neliel.
"Let's just say that depending on your answer I'll either leave you alone or I'll follow you if I deem you interesting enough."

"G-guys!"
Alistair finally speaks up and upon closer inspection he and his crew seem to be quite afraid of something.
Which is strange, considering that the adjuchas in front of you might be insufferable but he otherwise feels harmless.
"Y-you seriously have no idea who you are talkin' to?!
This is the guy that folks call the Plague Bringer!
We have to leg it RIGHT NOW!"

An imposing name to be sure but you have your doubts about the guy, he is clearly weak compared to the average adjuchas.
But as you are wondering about the validity of Alistairs claim you can see a black feather dart past you and stab Alistair in the neck.
He starts to foam at the mouth almost instantly and collapses on the ground.
You turn your attention towards Yata who looks like he just threw something.

It's clear that he is the one who attacked but after checking him out once more you can confirm that he doesn't have a single feather on his body.

"You should stay out of the business of grown-ups friend."
He says as he takes a more relaxed pose once again.
"Oh don't worry, he is in no danger. I just made his muscles relax a bit.
He'll be fine in a few minutes, but I just hate it when trash interrupts me."
He begins caressing his own hands and starts to giggle a little.
"So, will you finally tell me just what you are doing or will I have to use more "forceful" methods?"

It seems Alistair was right and this guy is indeed dangerous.
Up until this point you were sure that he was harmless but after this stunt and the malice in his voice as he spoke you must admit you were wrong.
The question is remains however:
Should you tell him about what you are doing?
Hell, should you speak up at all?
It seems he views you like he did Alistair, as a weakling hollow following Neliel.

"I assure you, I can be quite persuasive if I want to.
I loathe fighting but I'm by no means harmless.
It's just that whenever I fight, people tend to die in my vicinity."

okay /tg/ lets talk about an overused cliche: ZOMBIES

I really want to run a zombie campaign, I have for years. I love the idea of ammo scarcity, high-lethality (like dead-in-one-gunshot lethality) and the sandbox freeformness of such a campaign. I mean, you can go to the evac camp, or try to strike out on your own, or try to find lost family, try to build a new world, etc.. Plus it's a good way to get "normies" into RPGs cause they all want to try out their ebin zombie survival plan.

Plus huge zombie battles let me use my 100 plastic glow in the dark zombie miniatures. And there's something fun about them being picked off one by one but slowly closing in. I think it'd be a fun battle to play on a grid. I've done it in fantasy games and it's worked out well.

But my issue is practicality. A zombie apocalypse as it is in Max Brooks world or in the Walking Dead, just isn't practical. I will explain more in the next post since I hit character limit.

I think I know what you're talking about. Why would so much of the world fall to the plague as to create the giant hordes seen in Zombie movies, right? I think 28 Days Later solved some of that problem by making the zombies faster.
>>
Note that I say practical, not realistic. Obviously zombies aren't realistic.

But ignoring fantastical elements and ignoring practical elements are different. Most people are okay with a dragon in Game of Thrones; but if an untrained human child beat a dragon with a wooden dagger, people would call bullshit. There's a distinction.

So the slow-moving headshot zombies have a lot of issues. I think Max Brooks zombies rate 1/10 on the practicality scale. They are slow, and infection takes nearly 24 hours. Plus... wouldn't the zombies eat the person anyway? So death relies on accidental bites. Also, the players are alive because they are somehow better than 99% of the human population, including the military. I have said this to every zombie fan I've ever met; if something is dangerous enough to kill 99% of the human population and create an apocalyptic scenario, it is probably going to kill you, too. If it it's something that you could survive, like the stereotypical slow walking headshot zombie, then it probably wouldn't be able to take over the world.
>>
On the other end of the spectrum, Left 4 Dead had by far the most "practical" zombie apocalypse I've ever seen. Ignore the weird-ass special infected and ridiculous character durability. The main characters are alive because they are immune; most people turn when they catch the airborne disease. The zombies can be killed normally but take a few more shots to kill than a regular person. I assume they eat corpses, but that's okay because they don't need to spread by biting. So there is good reason for society being wiped out, but the characters surviving.

I agree. Though I think if a lot of the world fell victim to it, infrastructure collapse would take the rest.

Well, I made a WWI themed regiment inthe last thread.

Feeling like making some more themed regiments, and even a couple wacky ones.

Also, they really should've added an option to replace the lasgun with any basic las, solid projectile, or low-tech weapon for x points.

You look around as you enter the Zora's Domain with Lynna. It's... strangely quiet. You'd think with making such a... loud entrance, someone would at least come by to see what's going on. But it's oddly silent, save the soft sounds of water, slowly creeping on your nerves, the crash of a small waterfall inside being the only thing distracting the more calm, creeping flow. You reach a central area, the Grand Hall of the Zora, and it too is deserted. Empty. Lifeless.

"Th-there's gotta still be folks here, right, Termina?" Lynna asks more fore reassurance than as a legitimate question. She follows you closer as the two of you slowly down a mildly wet flight of stairs, carefully, making sure neither of you slip. Each step echoes through the Grand Hall. "I-I mean, they wouldn't just up and abandon this place without warning, right?"

You recall there being some Zora in Castle Town that mentioned the young woman with you, but they... would certainly have made note of something like this. You hope. A soft groan catches your attention in one of the rooms the bottom of the stairs.

>A. Draw your blade and approach cautiously, it could be a threat

The sun was shining brightly as you watched the gravedigger filling up the last bit of your old masters grave, Ser Ector. It had almost been ten years since your mother had sold you to him for a pouch full of silver and he got to lay with her seven times, a story he had often enjoyed telling you about again and again every time he had a drink. You never liked the man, but he had taught you everything you knew about fighting and riding, not to mention foraging, living off the land while on the go.

Countless of fights and close calls and it all ended with him shitting himself to death. You took a small moment to look across the field of unmarked graves, getting used to the fact that the only father figure in your life was now gone. You were alone, well not entirely alone. A impatient scrapping of hooves against the ground behind you revealing Dontos, your masters old horse. A grumpy, mean, old Rounsey. As you walked over to him you remember the first time you met him, you had tried to give him an apple and try to win his friendship and as a result he bit your arm and ate the apple. You patted him on the head and he gave a annoyed whine in return.

“I know you dont like me and I dont like you. But it is only us two now. So if you dont want a quick visit to the butcher you better get used to it.”

He merely blew some air through his nostrils but made no further complaints when you mounted him. As you rode down the road towards the the small town laying right next to Cider Hall of House Fossoway. Your masters original plan was to head to Tumbleton for a tourny in celebration of the restoration of the city after the Dance of the Dragons. You had offered your service to Lord Fossoway but his steward's assistance had informed you that they had no need of 'vagrants' You could always do as originally planned or try find some manner of work.

>not giving your rogue high wisdom in order to spot a con, tell when he's being fed bullshit and spot a nigger with a crossbow over there
I mean, mainly because it's your own damned fault.

Also because a cleric who actively wants to be wise and observant would probably be really good at that shit. They should at least be comparable in that respect. You can also give the rogue inspiration and/or advantage a lot easier since playing his role well will lead to a lot of him pointing out specific things he's looking for which make them easier to spot than "I search the room" from Clericman over there.

tl;dr The DM has a job, RAW is a joke for autistic greenhorns, no system is perfect, don't play it if you can't enjoy it.

When you, Tsukuda Ryouta, name yourself as the one who saved the cold-eyed prodigy, Takenaka Hanae, from the Cero of a Menos Grande, Ryuu doesn't ask questions or take any time to think your answer over. The blade sheathed in black leather spins off of his shoulders and into his grasp, his right palm resting on the hilt. The weapon draw is suddenly paused as the red haired fighter of the 11th Division closes his eyes.

"Nothing you might say can make me believe that, Ryouta." Slowly, the scabbard slides aside to reveal the polished steel. With the sword laid bare, the sheath is discarded, falling to the ground. Ryuu stands up on the branch, extending the blade to his side. His eyes open, a menacing scowl replacing his once calm expression. "Charge, Judenmaru."

The weapon glows with spiritual power as its true name is uttered, extending and straightening out its slightly curved form into the shape of a spear. When the luminescence fades, the weapon's orange-reddish tint is unveiled; it's as though rust runs along the length of the metallic shaft. The spear sways and quivers lightly in the wielder's grasp, as though heavy or unbalanced in a way that makes it difficult to even hold. But the weapon's structural form isn't at fault; neither is the user's strength.

They're the mad convulsions of an overeager, bloodthirsty beast. A beast that refuses to be held back even by its owner, shaking wildly as though trying to slip out of his grasp and fight of its own accord; like a wild dog gnawing at its own chain. While its movements are subtle, it is nevertheless a disobedience on the part of a Zanpakuto that you've never seen before.

If it collides with something it cannot go through, whether it's an object of terrain, a spiritual barrier, or simply high endurance, instead of losing any force behind the strike, it gains more power over time until it grows to a point sufficient to overcome the obstacle. When this weapon hits, it counts as having struck seven times instead of merely once.
>Because of the user's poor compatibility with the spirit dwelling within the weapon, the Zanpakuto is difficult to wield and not at its full strength. While this negative is not 'replicated', it is still impossible to draw out the Zanpakuto's actual strength without first analyzing it at its prime.

Even to your senses, that weapon feels strong; intense. Whether it's the spirit's bloodlust or the weapon's spiritual prowess... No, perhaps it's simply both. The spearman, too, glares with an intensity that can only herald killing intent. This thirst for blood feels oppressive.

He can shorten the distance to striking range in a single leap. Right now, he stays his ground atop of the branch, waiting for you to prepare. There isn't much of an opportunity to make distance right now; without establishing that first, Ishiken isn't an option. Aside from that, there are several approaches to this battle to consider, including none at all: his Zanpakuto has already been revealed to you, so retaliating might be unnecessary. Perhaps he'll cease aggressions once he sees that you're unwilling to fight.

Every ditch that the wagon hits, every dip and bump in the road, sends a violent stab of pain through your guts, a spasm of nausea striking a fraction of a second later.

The road has a lot of ditches in it, countless dips and bumps. Riding an ill-tempered horse from Garuna to the Nameless Temple, you think ruefully, would have been less painful. Getting kicked by an ill-tempered horse might be less painful – at the very least, it would be over quicker.

Still, the constant shuddering keeps your thoughts from settling into a pessimistic fog, so there might be one advantage to this entire sorry situation. You don't want to think about the storm gathering in the north, the first signs of Nodens' return to the waking world. Neither do you want to think about the nameless warrior god not far to the east of Dumas, the god that might be teaching the ways of war to the Seer's followers. You don't even want to think about Aya's destroyed newspaper, even as the girl herself sits opposite you and hums a soft tune.

You don't really want to think about anything right now.

With one last jolt of pain – thoughts of something tearing and coming loose inside you once again flit through your mind – you climb down from the wagon and stare up at the Nameless Temple. A slow realisation passes through you, then, as you're looking up at your home – you weren't sure if you'd ever see this place, or the people within it, ever again. Now that you're back, you almost feel reluctant to step across the threshold, as if you'd wake up from this pleasant dream the instant you did so.

In the end, Aya – unburdened by the thoughts that you can't quite put into words – is the one to lead the way, striding fearlessly into the temple. Feeling vaguely foolish, you follow her inside. “So!” she calls back to you, “I know this isn't the first time I've been here, but how about giving me a tour?”

You seem to recall someone else showing her around once, you point out, after she and the Mentor had a somewhat heated “discussion”. Surely she hasn't forgotten the layout already?

“Uh, so I might have been a little out of it when I was being guided about,” Aya admits, a faint colour rising to her cheeks, “A little, you know, stunned. C'mon, you don't need to if you don't want to, but I thought it might be fun. I mean, you look like you want to give this place a once over as well, so where's the harm?”

Do you really look like that? Perhaps you've not yet accepted that, yes, you're really back. Even so, you can't let such things distract you from your duties... to the Mentor, yes, but also to your friends. To Howa. You've been gone a long time – it certainly feels that way, at least – and you need to catch up.

Aegis has enough toys. It's already the Arcanist of martial characters.

Do you use music in your campaign, /pfg/? What kinds of music have you used before?

> Outsider Servant: This functions as the antipaladin ability, except the insinuator gains a new outsider servant each day, whose alignment must match the alignment of the outsider invoked for the day. The outsider servant functions as much as an agent for the patron invoked by the insinuator as an ally of the insinuator himself, and may turn against him if he violates his patron's alignment or interests.

Neat.

>see obvious dm on campus (hexpaper sticking out of bag, pathfinder box underhand, etc.)
>"hey you running a campaign?"
>start up a conversation about different systems we run.
>tell him how I usually go AD&D cause my players are usually people who don't usually game a lot
>"yea I like Pathfinder, it has a lotta neat stuff. You can even do magica hirl transformation moves and run it like Sailor Moon."
>diverge at next possible fork in the sidewalk
>"okay bye"

In what fucking realm is it okay to bring up magical girls the first time you talk to someone about anything? That aside why doesnt anyone ever wanna just play a normal fantasy setting? Why do they always have to put their stupid weeb/fetish shit into the game? The most fun I have is with people who i introduce to this stuff who just play the characters like LotR or Skyrim characters, but everytime i try and find people who play a tons of ttrpgs they are nearly always pedo-weebs, furrys, or bronies. I only started dm-ing because anytime I played as a PC i would a.) have to be a cleric because everyone else wanted to be edgelord Hari Kari Sunshine or Tomoko with Spawn powers and b.) be subject to the DMs wet dream of the week. Where do you find both experienced players and DMs who are willing to both roleplay and not shit up every session with their creepy edgelord pervert bullshit?

He just thought you were a fellow weirdo and you found out you're too different kinds of weirdos.

Also, anecdotal evidence is prone to negativity bias, and your post, from title to last line, definitely reads like written by someone overwhelmed with emotions.

Dude, i get it. Some people wanna get their magic girl on. I respect it, but every god damn person i try and play with wants to be a magic godamn girl. Idk if its my city, if its something in the drinking water or what, but i legitamatly just want to play a grizzled ol knight or something and every time its the same thing. Every single time i go to my gamestore its a magicgirl crapshoot, and everytime i lose. There has to be some kinda app or support group. I cant be the only one.

One of my players rolled a 3 for his Charisma.

What would that even look like? How would people respond and react to them?

It looks like you should stop rolling stats.

Revised is a set of fan-rules, written almost entirely by a Dark Eldar player. It shows.

Xth for ramming Ork ships with your convoy transports and causing them to warp out

I still lost the match but it was worth it to see that giant Ork cruiser chased off by the little transport who could
