/tg/ I have a question and only your wisdom can shed light on this, do Orkz poop? Or do they spore? Is the poop spores? Are they both? Where would they do it, how would they do it?
Yes they poop, in fact it's an integral part of ork society, many important squigs only live in orkish shit fields

Looking for /tg/ related project ideas I can do with one of these since I have one now.
Anything from mechatronic board games like Pinball/pachinko/etc to robotics like a table that deals cards and shuffles.

I have no idea.
If you lived in Ravnica would you pressure your children into joining your guild, or would you let them make their own choices?
There's a thin line between asking interesting MTG lore questions and autistic ones.
I believe you cross the line.
>>47070515
It is their choice, they can go and join whatever Guild they please.
But now and forever, they will be a member of the Syndicate.
In this life, and afterwards.
They had better watch their step.
Nsh, as a general rule parents that press their children into adopting whatever they adopt are just insecure.

I need reference for the daily lives of ancient clans and tribes.
Googling the names of such countries mostly gets me their politics and/or military facts/encounters. What I need is more about how they lived.
how they got sustenance
what arts and musics they preferred
when they hunted, what they hunted, and how
land laws
rights of battle
all that kind of stuff
Knowledge of ancient crafting methods for armaments and arts are equally important to me as knowledge of how they caught fish or built huts, if not slightly lesser.
Time-range: anywhere from the 1st to 6th centuries.
Areas: Anywhere east of Pakistan, north of Cameroon, south of the north pole, and west of the North Atlantic Ocean.

You're lucky if you get one paragraph about daily life.
Is there a setting brief on Kill Six Billion Demons for a RPG to be played in Throne? Apart from angels, demons and humans there don't seem to be cohesive 'races' to draw upon. And is there a collation of YISUN's parables or do I have to go page by page?
>>47069946
Just run it in Sigil unless you've gone full obsessive about the setting itself.
In that case, I dunno what to tell ya. Wish some autist would whip up a wiki for us who got a few issues in and want the synopsis.
>>47069946
servants are the fourth race, they are basically "literally any and everything you could conceive of being a sentient being." also there is an RPG for KSBD, though it uses apoc world's system which rustles some people's jimmies around here. I think it has setting bobs in it, but it's been a while since I've read it. this might not even be the latest edition, in which case, oops.
>>47069946
OP, the creator of the comic made an RPG.
There's no way you didn't know this.
>The fertility cult is secretly a death cult
>The cycle of life and death isn't the same cult
Nature and Society need death to remain healthy. Perhaps the discovery of true immortality will be the death of civilization?

No. You will be just dead.

So recently I acquired a full set of Edge of the Empire books. I've always wanted to run a campaign with people IRL but I have no idea if my friends would be interested, or how to run a session that doesn't sorta die (I've read the horror stories on here)
Anyone have any hints or tips for starting things up? I want to run a classic Star Wars group now that I have the means, and I want the best chance of that happening.
Pic unrelated.

Make sure everybody is on the same page with character creation. Have everyone get together and hash out their character concepts, how they'll all fit together, etc. Make sure everybody is on board with the overall "theme" of the game, and that nobody wants to play a lone wolf or someone who doesn't work with the rest of the party. It's very helpful to make the players come up with reasons why their character is working with the rest of the party.
>>47068620
Yeah, I was thinking that the first night just be them working on their characters together as a group. From what I've heard, character creation always takes much longer than you plan it to, especially for new players.
Thanks for the reply, by the way. All advice/stories welcome.
You're probably going to get a lot of not-Han Solos, but that's okay, as long as everyone is willing to have their characters working together. If your whole group is new to tabletop RPGs, you might want to tell them directly that you're going to railroad the storyline for a little while to get everyone used to how RPGs work. Feel free to tell the players what their characters would PROBABLY do. The end decision is up to the players, but you shouldn't avoid reminding them that everybody is trying to have fun together.

D&D 5e, and only that. I've been looking to play since the playtest. Never could for more than 1(ONE) session because apparently im the only 5e GM that can run past the first session and doesnt dissapear. Im fucking cursed.
>Time availability
I'm at GMT-3 (EST/central is one hour behind me, for reference)
I could do mondays or sundays. My week is freaking full and scheduling is hell. Im already GMing a game, too.

Ideally, i'd like to play through Skype or something and use Roll20 mostly for dice and virtual tabletop (roll20 doesnt have an 'edit' function so writing exclusively there is kind of a pain)

I actually LIKE D&D for what it is, and 5e is my favorite edition.
Im a chill dude to be around, i like my Fantasy and i take gaming seriously. I don't flake, whine or act passive-aggresive. I like working as a team and fighting through badass encounters and immersing myself in the character and enjoy a good story. I always try to help other GMs if they need a hand, even if they are newbies. I am patient with people.I'll even partake in your Magical Realm if that's what you want as long as you can offer an actual game...
But my schedule isn't very open and people seem to dislike the idea of text games.
I thought i had found a decent game a couple of weeks ago but the GM flaked at the last minute.
Who's the wealthiest traditional gamer?
More importantly, who the fuck cares?
I dunno, probably Vin Diesel?

Just got into Savage Worlds, and I wanted to do a fantasy-type game, but with mechs. How would I handle that? Do I just stat them up like characters, or do I use the vehicle rules?
>>47064406
Use the mech rules from the Sci-Fi companion.
> unironically playing Savage Worlds
There is nothing good about Savage Worlds.
>>47065901
Yeah, then fuck off and leave it for the rest of us.
Does this make a good campaign setting? Can it even be done?
>>47063718
a campaign through the jungles of bang-bang-duc would be pretty good.
Or an Omnian monster hunting campaign through Ubervald, possibly could easily rijigger Dogs in the Vineyard to do that.
>>47063718
As serious campaign? Nope. For fun? Fucking yes.
I'd reckon the difficult bit is to give it that Discworld feel to it, Pterry's brand of whimsy isn't exactly easy to emulate.
I think one of the suptg threads had someone who managed to nail it, misplaced the link though. If only that really was Pterry pretending to be that OP
Hey, /tg/, I'm not new to tabletop, but I never played 4th Edition. My players are now looking for a high fantasy game and I'm wondering if 4e would be suitable. I know it was hated at the time of its release when 3.5e was popular, but now that the dust has settled, has your opinion changed at all?
>>47063696
4e is a great game, don't let the haters hate.
However, it's not D&D. D&D is shit and 4e is great.
>>47063696
It's a good system. It's not the best for roleplaying, but D&D was always more about combat than storytelling. It's actually a pretty easy one to learn for new players too
>>47063719
Uh... Okay? I don't mind the MMORPG powers system seeing as I'm making a high fantasy setting, but still.
