How do you build your major villains? Not necessarily your BBEGs, but villains who will play major roles in your campaigns?

I am working on a five part campaign. The first four parts will be centered around four major villains, each of which is extremely influential or disruptive to the large Lankhmar-esque city in which most of the game is set. I'm in love with Paladins of any kind, and am using dark/evil/not good paladins as the base, with Treachery, Conquest, Oathbreaker, and either Ancients or Vengeance as inspiration for the NPC statblocks.

We got fighter man.

Arcane Archer, Knight, Samurai and Sharpshooter. Don't come up much because none are really good.

Imagine there's a new, alternate EDH format where only cards that have been printed in the new, post-M15 frame are legal.

What would be some good generals to build and why?
>>
Anybody else can't stand when people throw tantrums about stax-oriented decks? Its just another way to play the game. I also think it changes the game to something of a puzzle. obviously stax decks arent invincible, so you have to figure out how to use your limited resources most effectively to break their lock. It's just frustrating that so many edh players get flustered whenever they can't cast their random 8-drop jank.

Are the Tyranids the only good guys in Warhammer 40k?

From what I remember they are driven by an animalistic instinct to just consume, and there is no good or evil in nature. Their contenders are:

Necrons - automatons to evil gods

Chaos - self explanatory

Imperium - giant fascist empire that treats its subjects like shit and enslaves them to follow a corpse or more accurately the high lords

Tau - supposedly space communists (good) but are more like space Stalinists who treat other non-Tau as second class citizens and are under mind control via ethereals

Orkz - fighters that know what they're doing (fighting, looking for a fight, etc) and just want to fight because why not lul

Eldar - space faggots willing to let anyone die to save even one of their faggot members so he can participate in the blowbang later

That's all the major factions, right? I don't think I am missing anyone and lumping some together is justifiable.

So, Tyranids are the good guys, yeah? The goodest of all the other races.

No.

The idea that there is no good or evil in nature is fucking boring.

I'll be starting out as a 6th level monk in 3.5. High Dex and Wis, but everything else is low.

The plot twist is that he's blind. I'm currently working it out with the DM, but he really likes the idea and wants me to go through with it.

How should I play him, /tg/? Any tips or ideas are appreciated.

Pic somewhat related: Is Big Boss a rogue, a fighter, or possibly a monk?

> monk

Don't.

> high dex low str

Ask DM if you can take the Pathfinder feat Deadly Agility. Also check out the PHB2 for damage buff feats for monks.

> blind

What the fuck anon. Well I hope you get some extra feats for that. Or just say "blind but I have blindsense to 50 feet", that was a "dark gift" in a 5e adventurer's league game I was in. So if it's all official for that it should be importable to 3.5.

> Big Boss

I don't know or give a fuck about MGS but I would say rogue. Not everyone who's good at hand to hand combat is a monk, just like not every competent warrior is a fighter, necessarily.

Greetings /tg/,

first of all if this following idea finds no support than just turn it into some general discussion about healers(motivations to play one and such)

as one who frequently plays some type of healer, regardless of setting(magic healers preferred thou) and as one who is more...intrigued by munchkins than outright hostile to them i've had an idea/a train of thought/whatever you wanna call it...

what if a total munchkin, assuming hes also REALLY into healing (even tough that would never happen due to their constant attention-whoring practically forcing them to assume the role of a damage dealer) were to play a healer/full support? Might just be me but im my mind this sounds weird, confusing and maybe could even be played for laughs as it ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS the tension.

Is 3d printing going to upset the miniature economy? Is GW worried?

I know that official 40k tourneys require "official" minis but as the tech gets better it will be impossible to distinguish official minis from printed minis without requiring everyone to show their purchase receipts.

>Short-sighted
Ah, yes, how could the galaxy compare to the pure genius that is the 'we've already won because we came up with a vague philosophy while before the industrial age' race who insists on poking the hornets nest to expand.

The Tau are arrogant, naive and short-sighted to a fault, it's almost entirely coindicence that has set them on the path to ascendancy, one they abuse with no small measure of skill or cunning admittedly. However, were any faction to realise them for the threat they are, save for the Imperium and is current resource issue, there wouldn't be much the Tau could do to save themselves.

Present for the new thread: Alternative Armies' HoF Fireteam rules.

They're a 15mm grid-based skirmish ruleset, a possible selling point is that they require a relatively small playing area which can be made up of small modular segments. Combined with smaller models and low model counts this is quite a portable game with fairly low overhead.

It is 210 years since the Battle of Eylau, a bloody and inconclusive clash between Napoléon's Grande Armée and a Russian Empire army under Levin August, Count von Bennigsen near the town of Preußisch Eylau in East Prussia. Late in the battle, the Russians received a timely reinforcement from a Prussian division. The town is now called Bagrationovsk and it is a part of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. The engagement was fought during the War of the Fourth Coalition, part of the Napoleonic Wars. Of all Napoleonic battles, this is considered to be the most uncertain and mysterious for several reasons — mainly the strength of Murat's reserve cavalry.

Napoleon's armies previously smashed the army of the Austrian Empire in the Ulm Campaign and the combined Austrian and Russian armies at the Battle of Austerlitz on 2 December 1805. Austerlitz forced the Austrians to sue for peace and their Russian allies to withdraw from the conflict. On 14 October 1806, Napoleon crushed the armies of the Kingdom of Prussia at the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt. After a rapid pursuit, the broken pieces of the Prussian army were destroyed at the Battles of Prenzlau and Lübeck and in a series of capitulations at Erfurt, Pasewalk, Stettin, Magdeburg, and Hamelin. Eylau was the first serious check to the Grande Armée and the myth of Napoleon's invincibility was badly shaken. However, the French would end up defeating the Russians later in the year at the Battle of Friedland.

In late January, Bennigsen's Russian army went on the offensive in East Prussia, pushing far to the west. Napoleon reacted by mounting a counteroffensive to the north, hoping to prevent their retreat to the east. After his cossacks captured a copy of Napoleon's orders, Bennigsen rapidly withdrew to the northeast to avoid being cut off. The French pursued for several days and found the Russians drawn up for battle at Eylau.
