Why dry ice?
>>9110894
Lightweight material maybe
It doesn't make sense though as unless the users of the ships can survive at temperatures that dry ice doesn't vaporize/melt at, their body heat would eventually melt it pretty quickly

What anime?
>>9110894
Maybe they figured out something cool to do with it. It's a fucking anime shooting in the dark space of the realm of possibilities, so just accept that in the future they figure out how to make this shit work.
Going from electrical engineering to civil engineering. What can I expect? And why is civil hated so much?

I didn't fail EE, I just didn't like it. It's very boring and repetitive.

Analysis General
Where my analysts at?
Post anything pertaining to Analysis here. What are you working on? Research? Reading? Let's discuss
>http://vixra.org/abs/1703.0073
>On The Riemann Zeta Function
Authors: Jonathan Tooker
We discuss the Riemann zeta function, the topology of its domain, and make an argument against the Riemann hypothesis. While making the argument in the classical formalism, we discuss the material as it relates to the theory of infinite complexity (TOIC). We extend Riemann's own (planar) analytic continuation [math]\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{C}[/math] into (bulk) hypercomplexity with [math]\mathbb{C}\to\,^\star\mathbb{C}[/math]. We propose a solution to the Banach--Tarski paradox.

I think God wants me to prove P=NP guys.
It's your fault when you fall for the 3d meme

No, you wouldn't. I know this is an unpopular opinion but girls actually have an efficient mind that aids their partner's thinking. This efficiency looks like superficiality until you adopt its essence: deciding if statements are simply true or false on their own, without engaging in long explanations nor assuming a third state between Truth and Falsehood. In terms of neuroscience, girls simply have a stronger dopamine system. (Modern) males on the other hand, have a tendency to rely on the creative serotonin system on their free time and on the adrenaline system while doing tests, either physical or mental. If you want to prove P=NP you are going to have to develop a strong dopamine system along your creative serotonin mind and your overclocking adrenaline pedal. But the simple fact is that P=! NP and only a creative retard thinks otherwise, so P=NP is unprovable and proofs for P=! NP were already made but failed to be accepted. Pic related is a hydrogen fueled soviet airliner, the Tu-155 flew around 100 flights until it was placed in storage, even though many people still say that hydrogen fueled planes are impossible.

this is acceptable when there is no blakboard
the difference between humans and animals is so small its mind bogging. Either we are the most incredible things ever or we are the most meaningless piles of reproducing DNA in the most meaningless piles of meaningless in a most meaningless void of meaningless nothing where time nor space exists and all concepts we experience are a confused forced input received by this mass of crap that we call DNA that is merely interpreting reality through a 4 billion year trail and error process through its mutated offspring covering this planet. we share 90 percent of our DNA with chimps, mice, and dogs. DNA is literally all we are. when you realize the grass between your toes are literally your cousin its an incredibly scary feeling.
What about dogbros though? Why are they so good?
I share 100% of my dna with your moms face every night

Does anybody have any hypothesis as to why?
Is there any scientifically proven methods to induce or predispose someone to lucid dreaming?
Pic unrelated.
>>9110160
No, but there are unscientifically proven methods.
>>9110160
Check the papers written by Stephen LaBarge, he's really the only dude that's written published literature on lucid dreaming.
>>9110160
I had the longest, most vivid and free lucid dream of my life after watching 2 3D movies on my GearVR headset before bed. I've heard quite a few anecdotal reports that VR use increases the lucidity of dreams, but I've yet to replicate it to that degree. After more frequent use of VR my frequency of lucid dreams seems to have returned to default.
Nothing like a good lucid dream. Hopefully someone comes out with some sort of TDCS device that triggers lucid dreams every night in the near future, although the chance is slim. I'm pretty sure those LED masks are a scam, although I've never tried them.
What is the toxicity of elemental carbon?
Assuming 100% purity of the carbon, how much would it take to kill someone through oral consumption? What about through injection?
>>9110060
Probably about as much as it takes to kill someone by eating straight up coal. Which, I don't know if there's any historical data for. I hope not.
a large cylinder of carbon could choke you
>>9110066
Coal is mostly carbon, but also contains significant amounts of sulfur and traces of other, more potent toxins like mercury and arsenic. I assume those would kill you long before pure carbon would.
Can someone link me to a good pattern recognition IQ test? I am making a video game, where the main character gets an IQ test as part of the early game. I need examples of easy, medium, hard pattern recognition tests to build off of. I'd prefer if there's no English language or math tests, just the patterns.
I've attached an example pic of the sort of thing I'm looking for.
>>9110010
IQ tests are really tests of a person's stupidity not intelligence. Some of the questions asked could literally have any answer.
>>9110010
Your pic is from http://iqtest.dk. You'll find more there.

What physical forces cause our body to get hungry and break down?
Jew alchemy
Hunger.
Lack of stored chemical energy to convert to physical energy, so it resorts to different forms of chemical energy. You ever watch "Alone"?
There's a lot of good examples of exactly what I'm trying to describe with a High School tier vocabulary on there.
There's probably an anon that can give it better to you than I can, but that's the short answer.
>>9109982
>What physical forces cause our body to get hungry
Thermodynamics, conservation of mass and energy.
So I'm a new fag to the world of astronomy. I downloaded this thing called Space Engine, and so far I've loved it.
Accidentally clicked on a star in the background and I went to it. Now this is a white dwarf/red giant binary star system called Mira. Mira B aka Wonderful Star, the white dwarf, looks like this according to it.
I'm curious as to why. It might be a dumb question, but I've gotta start somewhere. I've tried using google but a lot of those articles are full of shit I simply can't comprehend at this stage.
And I'd love to know why stars would look like this in general.
>>9109847
Mira B has an unstable companion that loses a lot of material. This disk is formed by gathering what Mira A has lost.
>>9109870
What, so like a vampire-star kind of deal?
Would it be able to burn energy from what it gathers? Or am I being retarded?
how do we actually cure cancer?
dunno lol
