What will happen to female role in society once artificial wombs and sexbots are invented?
we shall finally become equal when sex is gotten rid off and all manual labor will be done by robots
>>8522354
They will complain about sexbots being unethical and slavery and ruin another perfectly fine thing.
They literally look for anything I enjoy and try to ruin that thing.
everyone will be sterilized at birth and worry-free sex will ensue all around
only the rich people will be able to afford renting artificial wombs and mass produce offspring to go full idiocracy on the world
society collapses
Why do those fuckers enjoy drowning people?
Whales are assholes, all of them. I for one support the Russians and Japanese in killing those fat faggots
>>8520701
I thought whales didn't have teeth. WHAT THE FUCK
>>8520748
Killer whales are carnivores, although all whales have teeth. For most whales, however, their teeth are more like large air filters they use for catching plankton and krill.
So me and a couple of others are having an argument over this. A leg is suspended as shown in the picture. Can you calculate the mass of the weight with this given information? I'd say no, because we don't know any angles.
If the pulley's are massless you would either need to know the angle of inclination + length of the leg or the magnitude and direction of the pivot force on the leg.
>>8524392
you could estimate the angle.
just calculate it, leaving the angle as a variable and then plot the mass over the angle, that gives you a range. the measure the angle from the..paint picture (or original picture OP might have). based on the uncertainty of the angle you can calculate the incertainty of the mass with error propagation.
>>8524405
what is the point of any of that. you dont take experimental data from subjectively portrayed paint pictures. as the problem stands it is not solvable with the given information
I managed to fuck up big time with a final lab exam which will give me a high risk of retaking course which I don't want.. I still got one more chance which is another exam... What techniques should I apply to my studying, what enviroment should I go to? I tried everything that I could think of, I just wanna hear from you guys. Day of the Rope is near for me atm.
i dont want to die
Literally just do practice problems. There is no magical way OP
>>8525031
Sorry, i didn't mean it in a way of miracles, just few tidbits and pointers on the path of sufficient studying that is all, thank you for replying anyway.

Chem 101 exam tomorrow, what the fuck is molecular geometry?
Seriously Vsepr pairs and all that shit seem like they should be relativity easy to understand, but it just never registered. Literally every example problem we did was "an exception" where the valence shell had more than 8 electrons. How do I tell if a molecule is sp4 or dsp3? Is there anyway to do this without memorizing every single possible case?
>>8524563
>Seriously Vsepr pairs and all that shit seem like they should be relativity easy to understand
OK, VSEPR takes into account both lone pairs and bonding electrons.
Molecular geometry is concerned only with the latter.
This is why water is 'bent' but methane is 'tetrahedral', in terms of geometry.
Well you need to know how to properly make a Lewis structure. If there are multiple resonance structures pick the one that has the least amount of formal charges and that has the formal charge(s) on the most electronegative atom.
Then once you made the Lewis structure count the electron domains. An electron domain is a bond between atoms and a lone pair of electrons on the central atom. Once you do that consult your molecular geometry chart (you might need it memorized for finals) and pick the geometry that corresponds to the amount of bonds/lone pairs you have.
>>8524587
Also forgot to mention that atoms on row 3 or greater are able to have more than an octet. Rows 1 and 2 cannot.

does anyone here try teaching others as a method of learning?
for some years now when i wanted to revise for a test, i would get up and start walking back and forth and explaining whatever i was studying at the moment
i would do pretty good, considering i was studying in the eve
pic related
is the 90 of learning done by teaching true or just placebo?
also whats /sci/'s opinion on mechE?
>>8524118
I would have to agree to a certain extent with the image, generally when you teach people you have to break something down and explain concepts differently if people don't understand.
Plus it makes you do your homework otherwise you look like a chode.
>>8524118
What's MechE?
On the main topic(ish), IMHO i think teaching others is a great reinforcement tool, but you kinda need to know your stuff in the first place and it's not really a way to first get your understanding.
When i do exam review, group discussion and mutual teaching seem best for me, though each person does learn in their own way. In teaching, some people are more concerned with talking (both too much and too little) to get or give much from teaching others
>>8524118
I am studying to become a teacher and it has considerably sped up my learning while also making it more efficient. I often even try to look at new material from the angle of "explaining it to someone else in my mind" - just to check if I got it or not. If not, I pretty much just found out where I am still unclear.
Theoretical and practical knowledge to be able to make inventions out of new science. Whats the path?
Study really hard. Intuition plays a part but without knowledge you will get nowhere.

Actually I'm a chemistry major
I'm short, partly due to genetics and otherwise.
My girlfriend is even shorter than me.
If we have children, could we give them them HGH to boost them up a bit?
This is a legit question. Being short is not bad, except for finding a mate, which is, let's face it, a pretty important part of everyone's life. I don't want my children to resent me for bringing them in this world with such a disadvantage.
>when barron trump is only ten and he's already taller than you
well doctors used to hand out hgh kids all the time if they weren't a certain height by a certain age
then they stopped
I suppose you can convince a doctor to do it nowadays in non essential situations but I'm guessing you have to be Uber rich
>>8522120
Reading about it casually, it seems like HGH injections only have a drastic affect if for some reason the child has very low HGH. Otherwise it's a very minor improvement (around two inches).
I think I need to bring up this issue with my gf. Not sure how well it will go down. I might just end up winning the Darwin Award.
Where did it go?

>>8520546
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the only ever true possible genotoxicity ever shown was some half assed study basically blasting lymphocytes in vivo with really high levels of RF waves and static magnetic fields, which went back to normal levels permanently within 24 hours, or directly after exposure ended. I don't remember. Also, it can dislodge the crystals in your inner ear labyrinth due to some electrical something or other.
this is other than obvious shit like leaving some metal object in the room so it crushes you when the machine turns on or whatever.
basically, there at least as safe as a CT scan, which is very safe.
there was some study where they had people swing their head back and forth in a scanner while using different levels, and had them answer questions testing their memory and shit like that, and supposedly they had worse scores the higher the levels were, but it only lasted during exposure or within a 24 hour period. It sounds like bullshit desu.

can someone teach me differential equations
>>8524979
khan academy dot org
>>8524986
but they're not laced with memes
A differential equation is an equation containing one or more derivatives of one or more variables with respect to one or more independent variables.
The rest is just about how can you manipulate them mathematically to obtain the variables as a function of the independent variables
