Why does my lecturer call [math]x^Ty[/math] a projection? I thought vector projections have some cosine somewhere and stuff
I want to show that not all open balls of (Z,d) (with d being the discrete distance ie d(x,y) = 1 if x=/=y and 0 otherwise), are not connect spaces.
You take B(0,2[ = Z and therefore this ball is not a connected space because (Z,d) is not a connected space. (because you can find parts of this space which are open and closed other than the empty set and Z.
Is this the correct reasonning ?

P=NP
do you even know what P and NP are? give me a prime factorization algorithm that's in P time.

only if P=1 or N=0

ITT we discuss transhumanist ideas that make us excited/scared for the future
>>8521337
People start getting together to discuss how our so called leaders are actually fucking everything up and the world becomes a much much greater place in a matter of months. All bad people are stripped of their power to control people and rehabilitated to be good people and we continue to discover our possibility of liberation or freedom through awareness and consciousness. Or they destroy that possibility for the near future by increasing the magnitude of the systematic destruction of the masses lives.

Digital waifus existing and you can have as many as you want wherever you go.
All I ask of the singularity since I'm tired of dating.
Wondering if someone could quickly confirm the answer to this for me. Its not just a/t is it? That seems way too simple?
By a/t I mean the functions a and t are equal to of course
You gotta compute the derivatives and then manipulate them to get the expression of [math] da/dt [/math].
>>8521167
Ok so da and dt here are just da/dN and dt/dN
So just compute derivatives of a and t with respect to N ? Is it normal to write da and dt and it meanda/dN, dt/dN? I mean it should be obvious I'm differentiating with respect to N since its the only variable but it triggers my autism a little
>>8521158
Well you're given a in terms of n, so just take the derivative with respect to time (I'm assuming A is constant):
da/dt=(A/2)*(sin(n))*(dn/dt)
Now, to solve for dn/dt you need to take derivative of the time equation with respect to time:
dt/dt=(A/2)*(dn/dt-cos(n)dn/dt)
dt/dt is equal to 1, so solving for dn/dt we get (2/A)/(1-cos(n)). Plugging this back into da/dt we have
da/dt=sin(n)/(1-cos(n))
Yes, highly likely that it is.

Wrong. Only a theory until proven true.
Yes to both.

Our culture is fucked and i think the "well-rounded student" is a good idea.
what?
How much energy does a small 1 inch meteor carry if it hit the earth?
This calculator I used says 2.46 joules, 587kt of TNT. Thats 27 nuclear bombs as it hits the atmosphere.
Does that sound right?
>1 inch = 2.54 cm
>Volume = 16.4 cm^3
>Assuming chondrite meteor, density ~ 3.5 g/cm^3
>Mass = 16.4 / 3.5 = 4.7 g = 0.0047 kg
>Average velocity at top of atmosphere = 20 km/s
>Ek = (mv^2)/2 = (0.0047*20000*20000)/2 = 940 kJ
>Little Boy = 15kt TNT = 63 TJ
So no, definitely not 27 nuclear bombs - it's about a billionth of one, in fact.
It is, amusingly, quite close to the approximate energy content of half a cheeseburger.
>Thats 27 nuclear bombs as it hits the atmosphere.
What the fuck kind of calculator are you using to get that kind of result?
>>8520737
One little problem with your calculations. You specify that it hit the Earth. That means you have to take into account air resistance.
Sup /sci/ is it possible to learn all of algebraic topology in 1 hour? I got a final today and I haven't been to class in 3 1/2 months

/Sci/, can I learn all of babby Rudin for an honours real analysis course before Thursday at 9am? I have a final and haven't cracked the textbook or been to class in a month and a half. Started studying 1hr ago and I don't know anything
Also, real analysis general. Post your interesting theorems here.
I'll start: I just learned that by rearranging the terms in any conditionally convergent series, we can make it converge to any number. Pretty cool

no
especially not if you're here shitposting instead of doing exercises
lmfao

I have to learn all of the pic related
Plenty of time
I just need textbooks
What are some books to learn all of the following?
As well as general relativity.
Currently i've taken physics one and calc 1/2 in college
I have plenty of time, I merely need to know which texts can provide me the proper education. I've already self studied before don't worry about that.
>>8520622
goddamn. well it's certainly going to take you a good long while. I'd say at least two years. if you are TRULY going to learn this.
there's a bug gap between that and general relativity
you need to understand Riemannian manifolds

I am not a cospiranoic or anything like that, but I am very interested in this image of SOHO.
I do not have the slightest idea about space in general, but this is weird, I mean, it's not normal (I think) Is there any idea what it could be? A simple camera error, perhaps?
>>8520528
It's aliens, dude.
It's probably a cosmic ray of some kind. If it was anything real it would show up in SDO/AIA but it doesn't.
>>8520594
Are they the same type of camera? It's still very strange for me, the idea of a cosmic ray is something strange, I have not the slightest idea of it, but it is interesting (outside of ayylmao, whatever provoked it is rare, in my opinion)
Hey Sci
Where should I start if I want to learn about probability and statistics
Also I'm retarded at math if that makes a difference
>>8520506
There's are these places known as "ewneeberhseetees" that I think will do.
Sorry if I spelled it wrong, it is just that these places are so underground that literally nobody even knows about it. So underground people have to come to a chinese cartoons discussion website to ask about them. So underground man.
>>8520506
If you're retarded at math, then you won't be able to understand probability and statistics enough to remember and utilize the concepts.
Math is something you build off of. Go on KhanAcademy and start by learning the part of math that you need competence in. Go through the Precalculus module on there. After you complete that then start with some calculus books.
how is it that even with the internet people dont know how to find one of the thousand textbooks on a subject they're interested in?
