Is E=Mc2 a sexed equation? Perhaps it is. Let us make the hypothesis that it is insofar as it privileges the speed of light over other speeds that are vitally necessary to us. What seems to me to indicate the possibly sexed nature of the equation is not directly its uses by nuclear weapons, rather it is having privileged what goes the fastest...

Would it be possible to make a panel that could capture radiation and turn it into electricity, like with solar panels and photons?

Technically light is radiation right?

Would RTGs count? Or fungi that feed off of radiation?

I did hear of some meme where some dude claimed to use nano materials to directly convert radiation into electricity unlike an RTG.

Yes: look up "alphavoltaincs" and "betavoltaics".

You must have missed the huge news about C12 "diamond" batteries: half life of 5700 years makes these batteries quite impressive.

Not 'technically', light is photons, photons are radiation.

How can one divided by zero equal undefined, if it's been defined as being undefined? Isn't that a self-contradiction?

Hypothetically, as a graduate student can I keep IP that I develop on my own time?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
If you can prove that you developed it entirely on your own without any aid or help from the university, you stand a chance. Proving that might be difficult, and they might make the argument that just supporting you via your salary gives them a fingerhold on anything you create outside of work.
>>
Like a lot of things, it depends on the school and department.

Schools that have strong reputations as hotbeds of "innovation" (Stanford, Waterloo, etc) generally want to maintain that reputation and not be seen as overly litigious regarding student IP and only claim ownership of IP if it's developed as a result of "assigned tasks" or part of coursework/research.

Other schools might go to the other extreme and say if you developed it while you were a student here, it's ours.

Pic related was ok.

As far as the subject goes I guess it had a fair amount of information.

However, most of the homosexuality subplot took over by the last half of the movie.

Would've been more interesting to know more about the achievement itself and how it was made.

Hey /sci/, /lit/ here,

I was curious as to completing the entirety of Euclid's Elements. Have you guys done so?

>>8576036
Do you know just how stupid this question is, /lit/?
>>
>>8576036

This board will wrongly shit on you for wanting to read Euclid, OP (see this >>8576050 faggot), but it's generally a good idea if you can be serious about it and hunker down for an extended period. It's especially a good idea since the Elements is one of the few ancient texts which remains /uncontroversially/ true among people who have actually read and understand it. This isn't some political theory which is a function of what the individual or culture values.

It would be especially good for you if you're not great at math and logic yet sincerely want to learn how the process and related arguments actually work. You can actually get that out of Euclid.

The nitpicking about Euclid here is just that. There is this weird tendency in the sciences to want to be ahistorical, and it's especially the younger people (read: this board's core userbase) who refuse on some level to understand why it is important to understand the history of science.

Original thread https://warosu.org/sci/thread/S8115006

sup guys, I found some more proof vaccines are causing a large rise in diseases, I'm gonna upload some graphs. Other graphs in the old thread.

The reason: vaccines are microscopic ufos
>and cause breast, vagina, and testicle cancer
>spider web vaginas
>and a whole lot of other birth defects and retardation

What we're looking at : in 1975 vacc coverage increased to 99% of the population getting vaccine from 30% iirc, And the number of vaccines quadrupled every 5 years (n*2) (actually 7x in 1975, from 1 to 2 vacc to 7 vacc per kid)
.. Ex 1970s kids had 1 vaxx, 1975 kids has 7, 1980s kids got 12, 1990s kids got 16, 2000 kids got 20 to 40 vaccines
>this is powerful, we can notice effects in graphs
>the worst part is the data for 1980s gen isn't even in yet, most adults over 40 had only 1 or 2 vaccines, now kids get chrons and aspergers adhd and autism at rly high rates

Posting some of the graphs showing 1975 spike in vaccines

I've prepared one Calculus and one Number Theory problems for now. If they are both solved I'll post others.
Starting from tomorrow I think I'll try and do one hard problem a day with the field of study depending on the weekday like some anon suggested. Other problems are very much welcome. It would be cool if during the weekend we could have one roundup thread where no one posted any more problems but we attempted all unsolved questions from that week and someone archived the whole thing.

And the NT problem.
>>

For the calc one:
For each n >= 1, [math]x_{n+1}^3 = x_n^3 + 1 + \frac{1}{3x_n^3} + \frac{1}{27x_n^6}[/math]. Hence, we can write [math]x_n^3 \ge n + \sum_{j=1}^{n-1}\frac{1}{3x_j^3}[/math].
To complete the proof, we need only prove that [math]\sum_{j=1}^{n-1}\frac{1}{x_j^3}[/math] is unbounded. But we have [math]x_{n+1}^3 \le x_n^3 + 3[/math], hence [math]\forall n \ge 1, x_n^3 \le 3n[/math].
Finally, we get [math]\sum_{j=1}^{n-1}\frac{1}{x_j^3} \ge \sum_{j=1}^{n-1} \frac{1}{3j}[/math], which concludes.
>>
Good initiative. I'll gladly ponder both problems. Too few people in this board value problem-solving over memes
