Anon, psychology is NOT a Science.

It's a Proto-Science

Don't know if your education is designed like mine (in Denmark). But did you have to choose a specific branch which you wanted to know more about, like for example wireless, analog design, digital design..
If so what did you pick, and what is your average day? Which programs do you use?
>>

At the school I attended (In the US) they require that we complete at least one sequence of technical classes in either Power, VLSI, semiconductor devices/fabrication, communications, electromagnetics (RF design, antennas, high speed systems). You are welcome to try other classes in EE/CPRE as long as you compete a certain number of credits and a sequence. I chose semiconductor devices as my sequence and some power classes as other electives to get the required amount of credits. Semiconductors I found to be the most interesting but i want to work in the energy industry before I go back to grad school.

Im starting 3rd semester EE. I can do the math, the analog design, and VHDL, but im pretty bad at coding C for microcontrollers. Will this be a big problem in the future?

If the universe came about out of quantum fluctuations, how do you explain the baryon asymmetry?

You can't. You can't explain it.

If there is no freewill and the universe is determined then what's it determined by?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's determined by its initial conditions. Why the initial conditions were the way they were is something we will probably never answer.
>>
>>8580555
Determined by its self = freewill
>>
>>8580556
Freewill needs consciousness. I'm talking about natural processes in the assumed absence of consciousness.

Can someone describe the condition of the vagina after birth? I've always assumed that it's just stitched up, but do they wear some sort of pad or diaper to prevent infection? How long does it usually take to heal?

Also, would a woman be capable of running full speed just minutes after giving birth? Would it damage her in any way?

There is no serious debate about the identity of the world's greatest polymath.

But tell me: who is the world's second-most diversely talented person?

My money is on Leonardo Da Vinci.

If you limit your definition of polymath as being prolific in multiple fields, even if those fields are of the same subject, then definitely Euler. If not then Riemann. If you want a more general polymath Da Vinci is the way to go.

Okay, /sci/, retard here, trying to get the essence of calculus here. I know "how" to do the operations, I understand the notation, I get the right answers, I just want to know what it really means, and get the vocabulary straight.

The derivative of a function is the rate of change of one variable with respect to another. Right?

Okay, so what exactly IS the differential? I'm seeing two competing definitions:

One, the differential (dy, dx etc) is an infinitely small change in the value of y, or x, etc. This is what Liebnitz wrote, right? And the "infinitely small change" is the "infinitesimal."

On the contrary, I'm seeing elsewhere that the infinitely small change (infinitesimal) is represented by ε and is part of an equation, where Δy = dy + ε, the differential is the "measurable" change in y, and epsilon is the immeasurable change, so taking the two together you get the whole, actual Δy.

To sum it, in some places dy is an infinitesimal, other places it's the principal part of the increment (Δy). Are both of these definitions correct, and they are just used in different contexts? If so then what are the contexts?

I am not under 18, I'm going to engineering school, I just have not spent enough time studying this shit, and I'm on my own. PS fuck Liebnitz, Newton4lyfe. Best possible universe my ass, why bother doing anything at all then.

My pee bottles are Ocean Spray and have been in service for a few years. They are built solid.

The scum layer is salient. My pee is usually a very light yellow because I drink lots of water.
Also, I drain them daily. So, i dunno.

He found a way to force every part of his brain into scientific thinking, hence his disability. The parts of his brain responsible for movement are working to do physics instead.
>>
He is generally considered to be an expert on the quantum mechanics near the event horizon of black holes, which is a pretty fucking cool subject. He's also damn good at GR.

It's mostly overblown though because of his direct line of contact with skynet is something the media can get behind.

Math researchers specialize as much as possible. There fields of research are so specific that only other people in their subsubsubfield understand what is going on. 99% of mathematicians are like this. Writing papers for 10-15 other mathematicians. The field is a joke. Don't even bring up "real" research because that's even worse.
>>
>>8579729
>>8579745

OP, don't believe this fag. Just look for any list of open problems in mathematics and see how most of them are easy to understand. Here is a fact: Almost everyone in academia is trying to prove one of those famous problems. Maybe not the most famous, but one of the top notorious ones.

But most of those problems are only unsolved because of how hard they are. Why is it that most mathematicians working on really niche topics and publishing for other 10-15 mathematicians? Because every PhD out there is trying to develop some theory that they think will allow to prove one of the nice problems. The top ones like the Yokozuna of math have their own theory that only they understand, other less outstanding people are simply developing a theory invented before them but that has yielded results before, enough to be worth the hassle if only to find that one theorem that will allow them to prove something big and become famous.

So just look for a problem you like and see what the people researching it think are the best ideas you need to know.
