Thank you both for the suggestions, but korthalsaltes.com is way too easy, and the other one is way too hard. I want a middle ground model, possibly made out of modules.

i don't think pepakura would be the best way to build this.
unless you really need it in paper, i would recommend just looking at the hardware store for parts that look like parts of the baton/kitbash it.

Paper is too small, paper is too thick, paper is too weak, you've Huntington's disease, ripped paper, model is too difficult for you, unfinished origami because of laziness...

Whatever the reasons are you probably have failed attemps of origami. I keep mines because they make me laugh. So let's laugh together and post photos of your fails !

Hey, /po/. I love Godzilla and kaiju stuff in general, and since the announcement of pic related, I've been getting more and more hype. I also have a big dresser with precisely nothing sitting on top of it, and have been looking to get into a new hobby.

As such, I'd love to cover that bastard with papercraft or origami kaiju, and maybe once I've been at it a while, even design my own.

I generally find papercraft to look cooler, but also think origami might be way cheaper, and something I could work on anywhere.

How much skill overlap is there between the two? I guess doing neat folds would be important to both.

Also, since there's no sticky, where do I start?

Yes, IMO it looks good. When I saw the thumbnail I thought 'Oh, nice lamp!' LOL

But it could become a lamp if you use LEDs. Visit instructables.com if you're interested, I'm sure they have such projects.
