It's a picture of a leaf. What composition?
My sister is going to Hong Kong this weekend and I ask her to buy me some film and equipment for developing them because I can't find any film and developing materials here in my area. Having film shipped here is not an option due to the high customs duties, taxes etc. fees not to mention there's a possibility that I won't be getting them.
Any anons here based in Hong Kong care to inform me where we can buy cheap rolls of film there and also a reliable film camera? I'm thinking of getting the Olympus OM-2.

Brutal honesty: it's shit. It's a picture of nothing. The highlights are blown out and there's nothing interesting to look at. The location is interesting though so I'd encourage you to go back and try again.
Also, why is it in black and white? If the photo wasn't interesting in colour what makes you think it'd be interesting in black and white?
Also 1000px on the longest edge next time, I don't need to pixel peep your smartphone picture to tell that it's shit

500px terms are also gay, they don't allow "obscene, pornographic" pictures. Since those are subjective terms, they can remove anything.
I decided to do an experiment and take only my 85mm lens to a local hot air balloon festival.
The default procedure is to go with a wide angle, try to get as much in the frame as possible, but I wanted to concentrate more on color, shape and composition.

Protip: if you shot it in color and it wouldn't be an interesting picture, you're using B&W as an artistic crutch
I absolutely hate image noise. Mostly chromatic noise, but also luminance noise. Even on film. It drives me crazy that my 1.5x crop factor Nikon sensor produces as much noise as it does shooting RAW. Even if what you see on a screen is like 298% as big as the default print size assigned to the image by the camera, I want my images crystal fucking clear at that level.
Is it autism? Is noise in, say, situations where the so-called "gritty" look is not usual (like pic related) okay? If yes to both, can you slap it out of me, especially with photos that disprove my view that image noise is never, ever, EVER welcome?

I'm new, what in pic related is noise?
>>2694885
Nothing. I just posted it as an example of a pic where you normally wouldn't use noise as an aesthetic effect.
...has lots of noise at 100%, as you can see here, but I also took it just to play with noise reduction.
>>2694889
Ah yes the noise is apparent now!
To me noise as an aesthetic effect seems like a cheap gimmick, but if the only way to get a shot is to get it with visible noise then it's better than nothing.

/p/, i have this rollei and i changed the screen for a mamiya RZ67 one. now its improved as fuck, but i think it has problems with focusing marking. if you put the weel on infinite it is almost infinite but kinda soft, if you dial back it a little bit it gets sharper, ie. true infinite. how to calibrate this?

iirc the original screen had this too. so i dont know if its a problem of the seeing lens or the screen. i guess it should stop on proper infinity no matter what? i dont want to waste film trying stuff
So with winter and child weather fast approaching, how do you shoot outdoors?
I've been reading a lot of conflicting articles, some day keep the camera close to you/in your jacket at all times to keep it warm, bit others say to leave it in the cold as your body heat week just create moisture.
So what is the proper handling ways?
Do people actually worry about this? I just beat the thing up and make sure to keep a spare microfiber cloth around in case snow gets on the lens. To be honest, I'd prefer my camera be completely cold because snow just bounces off the lens when it's cold, but it will stick and turn to water drops on the glass if it's warm. Just try your best not to breathe near a frozen lens or you'll be taking foggy photos.

Unless you're in the arctic, leave it alone. Use it as you normally would, and bring a spare battery. Taking a cold camera into a warm humid environment will lead to condensation. (This is not an opinion, it is 5th grade science)
If you ARE in the arctic, keeping your camera warm will help to preserve it and ensure it's lifespan, but eh. Most cameras operate just fine down to and below 0c. Including entry level ones.

>A Fuji user
You know, you're like that abused wife/girlfriend who keeps believing her guy has changed and keeps going back.
It's been what? half a decade or so that Adobe hasn't bothered with fixing processing Fuji's processing? Why in God's name do you think it's going to ever happen at this point?
Adobe, for whatever reason, has decided that it's not important for their business to cater to Fuji users. This is fact. Get over it and use a nonACR/LR workflow, or get out of Fuji.
>>2694738
Well, I used Lightroom until I switched to Fuji, then got upset at the detail issue, and switched pretty much instantly to C1, and haven't been back since. But I heard some rumors that it was better now, so I just checked it out with this file, and discovered that, nope, it still sucks, a LOT.
So I'm more like the wife who gets hit, leaves, and then checks back in two years later to see if my husband has gotten into a 12 step program or something, but sees him stumbling around the living room wasted, and leaves again.
It's such a shame though. I mean, I get it, fuck Fuji for coming up with this weird new color array, but it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to just send an email to Kevin Fuji and be like "Hey kev, we're the biggest image processing software in the biz. Maybe you want to hit me up with your shit so we can get your photos to not look like they were taken on my dog's cellphone when they're blown up?"
And Kev would be like "Sure Charles Adobe, thanks for the opportunity. Here's how we do our processing in our in-house stuff where we brag about great detail rivaling sensors with 24mp. Hope you can get it added in quick! We know over here that people not being able to get good files out of their favorite editing software is probably going to hurt our business pretty dramatically long term!"
