What the fuck /p

You told me shoot film its cheap, just develop it yourself.

Next minute, development kit is $200, the cheapest black and white film is $10 per roll on ebay and its not cheap at all.

How are you poor fags affording to shoot film?

You are doing it wrong. Buy a second hand Patterson tank and reuse your chemicals. There are a few cheap brands of black and white film but you aren't going to find them searching online for Ilford HP5+ and Kodak Tri-X
>>
>>2697924

It's cheap in the sense that I can buy a 70-200 canon macro lens for £5 and it's awesome.
>>
>$10 for B/W film

Nigga what are you doing? You can get shit like Agfa APX 100 for $3 per roll.

Does anyone remember dev, stop and fix?

I used to have a Gnome enlarger (pic related), and my mum would get pissed off with prints washing in the bathtub

Trying to light-tight my bedroom with Velcro and inhaling chemicals

Rushing home excitedly with fresh chems in square boxes

I miss all that stuff

fewer do traditional prints though. Easy to develop film at home, but to make prints you need some kind of a darkroom and enlarger.
>>

the other day i learn all that in one session. at a workshop.

i thought images coming out from clean sheets was movie stuff. or that it was very slow irl. shit pops out immediately, and i thought i was witnessing magic right there.

Stupid question

If I print this on a really nice sheet of paper would I get the same effect than buying the actual goddamn thing?

I mean its like 80 bucks for a piece of plastic, shits insane
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
No you won't. You need to calibrate the print first then measure each patch with a sensitometer and account for that in the correct software.
>>
>>2695529 It's expensive because the patches are matte paint with documented spectral reflectances. If you want to calibrate colours get the real one.

If you are a cheap amateur who would like colours approximately correct get a grey card instead.
>>
>>2695529
you mostly don't want/need to calibrate on colours. grey will be sufficient. use 160g bleached pulp and print some gray gradients with a laser printer on them. this way you get excellent reference values (be carefull when your sensor is sensible for UV light, though. use a blocking filter or unbleached pulp then).

Why cant Nikon make a digital FF FM3a (or equivalent) camera?

How much space is actually needed behind the sensor? Is it that they physically do not have space to move the sensor back?

If they put the LCD on the outside of the body (like D750) and could move the sensor back they could keep the F mount for a mirrorless type camera. Who would even want something smaller than this type of camera? What would be the benefit of having 2 mounts and adapting existing F mount lenses if they could just get to FM/2/3 size wouldnt that be the ideal solution to go mirrorless?

K01.. Why make a new mount + adapter if its possible to do a FF mirrorless with native F mount? Who cares about the wasted space?? Who the fuck wants a FF camera a6000 slim with dslr grip and dslr lenses.. it would be fucking retarded.. Just stick an F mount on there and keep it a usable size.

i'd say it depends on the kind of photography you're interested in - for example fashion schools have strong photo depts that focus on fashion photography, universities with strong journalism schools likely have good documentary & photojournalism resources, etc. what specifically are you aiming to do with a photography bfa?

Guys im torn. Nikon D7200 or the Sony a7? Virtually the same price, leaning towards the a7 for its lowlight performance and compactability, but the D7200 also looks very promising. Just wanted to hear your opinions.

Can't afford it? Get the D7200, the cost of lenses will likely be a problem on the A7 anyways if you can't afford the A7 II.

Also, these questions are better put into the gear thread.

Let's face it, the things that make a great photo are the attractive model, the amazing wardrobe, the expensive lighting gear and the cool locations. If you're not rich enough to afford any of these things on a regular basis, you're going to end up being a shit photographer doing "street photography" or some other unoriginal talentless garbage, shooting the same shit everyone has seen a million times before over and over again. The people who still don't realize this and think "it's all about the photographer" are the same people who keep posting b/w snapshits of a dumpster. I think you can still be creative in photography, but without hot models, fashion designers, makeup artists, etc. you can't really do shit. So how can you make it as a poorfag? Is it possible?

The upper lights are smooth smears, right? Means the camera's exposure is okay. Ergo - moving lightsource must've been blinking. LEDs replace more traditional lightsources in car lighting. Unlike the rest they don't use up from turning them on and off constantly, so to save on power and other smart reasons I've forgotten yet which are a google away, they blink. Presto pronto, you can delete the thread now.
>>
>>2698337
i got that they were caused by blinking lights, but how are there 3 separate lines? if it were caused by a bike, say, at most there would be two and unlikely to be that close together.
