I think this board died already.
Am i right?
>>2852210
Pretty much. It's mainly gear threads and tripfaggotry. I got no proper replies to my photo thread.
People get upset at there being more than one rpt, bit noone gives a shit that there are 800 threads on gearfaggotry, and multiple threads of people arguing with isi.
>>2852220
link lad, im sorry about isi, she the original cancer cell alongside moop on this board
>>2852220
i see a great number of gear threads, brand wars, troll threads, film arguing, social media garbage, car bullshit, concert bullshit, whats ur best photo?, etc.
its like people forgot how to make threads, so they make the same 10 type of threads there are here, sometimes 2 or 3 of the same type simultaneously. its sad, really.
I cant seem to get a photo that is all completely in focus on my 5d mark iii. Is this just a full frame limitation or something I'm doing wrong? Surely its me.
I just want infinity focus, everything is sharp. I've tried to go all the way to infinity focus on the highest F stop I can manage to light for. Still nada.
How can I do it?
Try zooming at the image in live view and manual focus from there.
If that doesnt help you're either using dogshit lenses or your sensor is dirty.
>>2851948
But will that focus on the whole image? Like Im totally fine with say, focusing on my face as i stand in front of a wall.. But the ears and the wall will be slightly blurry. If i move forward or back 6 inches, my face goes out of focus. I want to remove that so i can take self portraits without worrying about moving one inch back and losing focus
>>2851927
At the highest f-stop you probably have diffraction issues. Try f/8-f/11 tops.
Resize or don't post edition
Properly sized this time

alright /p/ i think i arrived to what i ended calling "the final solution" to all this "death of film", "digital vs film", "digital plainly sucks" issue.
bear in mind this idea is bassically a digital camera done right.
if you look at pic related you will comprehend all this process, that ill proceed to describe briefly:
1)every photograph needs light and a subject, thats why theres a plant and the fucking sun.
2)yup thats the optics. light travels thru it. no big deal.
3)here comes the great stuff: the sensor. i think people fell for the photosites meme and it just didnt deliver like everyone expected it to. have you seen digital martin parr? he blocks cocks. digital mccurry? blows even more than usual. this wont be your typical digital sensor. this will be an analog sensor. it should be electrochemical, but if that isnt possible, then purely magnetic.
literally like a cassete tape. its a canvas that once stimulated by light, carves an image on itself, with infinite resolution. there are no pickles here. because it will be, hopefully, an electrochemical compound that gets altered just like a film emulsion. thing here is that you can reuse said emulsion, or sensor in this case.
4)this is the eraser. it puts the sensor on its primary state aka unexposed. every time you take a picture, sensor records, then stores (explained in the following item), then gets erased, then you can take a picture again. this eraser-sensor combo should ensure great quality everytime, sensor should be like a high density, very reliable and predictable emulsion.
(cont...)
(cont..)
5)now its time to get zany. what is this? it is a scanner. now you have pickles, and resolution, and everything digital when it comes to store media information. it should work like a typical flatbed, it scans from left and right what the sensor captured.
since the image the sensor creates is a physical representation of what image was photographed, most if not all properties film photography is known for will translate into the final digital file.
6)this is the processor. it applies your shitty custom presets.
7)this is the SD card :^)
im filmfag extreme, but i would totally buy this camera. i think it would deliver greatly.
what do you think, /p/?
good job OP, you've just recreated the first imaging system spacecrafts used.

If you have questions about a new camera, what lenses to buy and anything related to gear or wondering about getting into photography, post it in this thread.
Do not attempt to make a new thread for your new Rabal, broken glass and being new.
No pointless (brand) arguments and dickwaving allowed! You have been warned!
I repeat, ANYTHING GEAR RELATED goes in here!

Newb here. Been shooting and developing film photos for about 5 years now. I want to go to digital photography. willing to buy a dslr...or sth cool but cheap. Will fitting my 35mm lenses on a digital camera keep the ,,colours,, and all the shit that film photography brings to it?
>>2854221
>Will fitting my 35mm lenses on a digital camera keep the ,,colours,, and all the shit that film photography brings to it?
No. The colors you get on film is not from the lens, it's from the film. Once you shoot on digital, your results will be much more flat and accurate out of the camera, and if you want those colors back, you'll have to learn to process the files yourself (or learn to love VSCO/NIK)
>>2854225
Thank you. I've got no fucking chance
>>2854225
>dslr colors
>accurate
can we just let this meme die?
does a serious alternative exist for modern dslr bodies or desings? I have an old contax camera and I love it, because it looks humane, interesting, it looks like it takes mysterious pictures. And then there's especially entry level dslr cameras of the 2000's that are noisy as washings machines loaded with fucking bricks, they scare people away so they are a huge no for candid shooting, they have no option of having a physical knob for either aperture or shutter times, not even a compromise that could be used for either depending on the auto program you're using
seriously, does anyone make a serious alternative desing?

the Df is a massive camera with the same footprint as nikon's 'small' fullframe cameras.
You're being deluded by the hard angles and hipster styling and will still look like a giant dorkazoid trying to be discreet with it.
For a genuinely smaller footprint, get an oly em5ii, fuji xt1/t10/pro2, sony a7sii, or the newest blotch on whatever the fragmented pizza face acne sony mirrorless lineup looks like nowadays.
they all have slr-like handling like the Df.
