Hello guys. Can anyone recommend me some great cinematic lens for Canon, for photography ?
>>2853992
what?
>some great cinematic lens
>for photography ?
You're a fucking clown, you should use the gear thread first of all and secondly explain better what the fuck you are looking for
>>2853992
OP, don't listen to the haters in this thread.
You want to get the Canon Ultra HD 4k 50mm, and the Bleach bypass secondary color correcting 70-200mm zoom lens with Ultra HD 4k filter.
If you haven't seen 6x6 Velvia projected I feel sorry for you.
Phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe it.
>>2853403
>6x6 Velvia
How many megapixels is that?
>>2853403
Yeah, that way you can see the blown highlights and shitty shadows and fucked skin tones the size of your whole wall! Amazing!
>>2853403
desu I would absolutely love to shoot MF slides and project them, but the cost of the projector itself is prohibitive.

It reminds me that there are plenty of people in the world that are more fucked up than me
>>2852744
It gives me something to do all day at work. Wish it was something FUN to do, but the constant update to the threads and all the arguments to get in against the constant barrage of idiots is at least engaging. I pretend I do it to prevent people from giving shitty advice to new photographers without knowing what they're talking about, but really, it's just for something to do when I can't be out shooting.
Hi everyone, I recently decided to get into 35mm
photography and bought a Canon AE-1 on eBay for £60.
I'm a total fucking noob on 35mm photography,
but noticed that the rewind knob was not
spinning every time i crank the film advance lever.
any help is greatly appreciated.
>>2852456
is there film inside the camera?
>>2852458
And if there is film in the camera, it fell off the take-up spool because you didn't load it correctly. The film is what makes the rewind knob spins. There isn't some insanely complex gear system that links the advance lever to the rewind knob, so if it isn't spinning it's because you aren't pulling film out of the cartridge.
>>2852458
yep, 400TX 36 exposures
If you have questions about a new camera, what lenses to buy and anything related to gear or wondering about getting into photography, post it in this thread.
Do not attempt to make a new thread for your new Rabal, broken glass and being new.
No pointless (brand) arguments and dickwaving allowed! You have been warned!
I repeat, ANYTHING GEAR RELATED goes in here!
And don't forget, be polite!

inb4 not Pentax OP
I bought canon because
>Best cameras for birding/sports/action/etc, e.g.:
>AF
>Framerate
>(other types of photography such as landscape you can use simple techniques like multiple exposures to get all the DR you'd ever need, but there are no techniques to get around insufficnetly fast AF or too low FPS for capturing action)
>Best resale value / market by far
>[hand in hand - an ecosystem I can expect to see other photos using and thus talk with about specifics, as well as share gear/etc)
>Good lens value (e.g. not massively overpaying because niche ecosystem)
>A company that is a camera company, not a generic electronics company that will make bad camera decisions or even sell off their camera brand at any random point because the CEO or investors don't like the ROI compared to say, video game consoles
>A company that was financially solvent and not hemorrhaging money (cough nikon)
Why should I have chose something else?

anybody interested in toy photography? need few tips here
>>2850319
>need few tips here
here is one: kys asap.
>>2850319
Main tips for toy photography:
Pick your setting well. A plain background, or something that puts the figure in something that might be its environment, rather than an ugly shelf or window sill. Make sure there's nothing in your scene (including your background) that will be detracting from your intent.
Light well.
Once you decide what your environment will be, you can choose a lighting style that will make sense for that environment. If you're building an outdoor daytime scene, maybe your figure is lit by the afternoon sun, you'd use a hard light from a low angle.
Perspective
Shooting from above makes them seem small. Shooting from toy-level makes them seem normal sized.
Shooting from their feet with a wide angle lens from up close makes them seem larger.

Would it be the leicas?
I shot once with a Nikon D800 and the image was crap. Too clean, cold, analytical and synthetic.
I have now a Nikon D70, bought it very cheap, and the image looks much more warmer and organic than the D800.
I won't shoot film because it is too expensive on the long term. It may be cheaper If I wouldn't shoot a lot. But I miss a lot of my exposures because I can't quite figure everything right with my first exposure because I only use manual. Film wouldn't let me know If I got things right or not right after shooting.
I only have one lens for the D70. It is a Nikon 28mm f/2.8 AI. So I have no problems to change brands.
Any advices?

>also pls confine this faggotry to the gear thread
Why does it have to be CCD?
Fuji's new sensor in the X-Pro2 actually has really nice noise characteristics. They've somehow eliminated almost all of the chroma noise, and you're just left with fine greyish bits that look a lot like film grain.
>>2848093
film grain is everything but greyish so you are just talking out of your ass
I've rarely used film cameras, and I've never lugged around a TLR system.
However I can't get my mind off owning a Rolleiflex and I've got some extra cash burning a hole in my pocket. I want a medium format camera for my travels.
Instead my friend turned me onto the Yashica 124-Mat G, saying it would be cheaper and something not as luxurious to lose in a worst-case travel scenario.
What do you think /p/? Is it gonna be a hassle for an amateur photographer or a good entry-level medium format system? (also do you prefer 120 or 220 film?)

Well, that's pretty redundant as 220 film is a lot harder to find.
The safe answer is to use 120.
>>2848100
I'm pretty sure 220 is just 120 but in a longer roll, too.
>inb4 I'm talking out of my ass

literally just got my mat124g recently too
have a lot of fun using it
the light meter isn't working so i may have to sodder it
great for portraits
and i usually just order a few 120's off b&h
if you can find 220 its not a bad idea but, yea safe bet go for the 120
