Hey /p/,
I've got an expo with pictures I took at the local park coming up and I'm decided on what to print. Here my 16 images selection, and here is the website with all the pictures: www.pradolongo.com.
All feedback welcome, specially let me know if you'd chose different pics, and anything pp.
Ta muchly.

So this isn't actually a photography post, but I don't really have a clue where to go or what to run a search for in order to figure this out.
The tl;dr of what I'm going to post is basically this: One day at a con I stumbled upon a group running a room party where they watched random 8mm films. These folks had no idea what was on them before running the event. Basically we just drank and watched like 3 hours worth of random home movies from people we didn't even know.
That party was the highlight of the con for me, and now I go on Ebay once in a while to look for the same junk because I'm fascinated with seeing stuff from the past this way. Am I the only one that does this or what? :P I can't find a subreddit to post about this, and they shut down a thread I tried to run because I didn't have the date in the title or something stupid like that, so I dunno where to go to find this info out, really.

i see those at my local ghetto pawn shop
i saw two actually thas all i got m8
OP I've been doing this for some time and think it's often surprising and sometimes dull but always a laugh.
I buy old films from ebay 8mm/Super 8 basically the stuff without an description of the content. I then put four 50 footers on a 200 real and have around 15/20 minutes of fun, splits and tears, splicing etc.
I am currently trying to make a 30 minute film entirely out of other people's films just for the hell of it. Trying to get some sort of image narrative without voice over is tricky but I think it can be done. Keep goin'
Wow this is really cool, didn't know people were into this.
I was once put on a project for my college job making digital copies of 16mm films found in the library. They also had old film preview reels from the early 90s (I guess when schools screened newly released movies before they switched to DVDs). Anyways I got to see an awesome trailer for Cool World, which has to be the best trailer for the most disappointing movie ever
Been a while since i posted so here is thread help that. Ive been trying to add subjects to my stuff like you guys say.
Ive actually been trying to stray away form night shots for a while and do something different, and i recently visited the Arches in Moab, Utah.

Nice one
I actually quite like it. Don't listen to these fujifilm retards, OP.
Does anybody know of any photos that look like this? Photos resembling Renaissance epic paintings and such? Are there any photographers I should fallow?
/r/accidentalrenaissance
>Photos resembling Renaissance epic paintings and such?
pic related to your post only resembles a classic painting because of the scene - costumes and some lighting
then there's VSCO there
don't know of other photogs who do that stuff, just letting you know it's nothing particular or peculiar and you can relatively easily recreate it yourself with some friends

I'm posting across 3 boards with this, I understand if this might not be the right place but I'm at the end of my rope.
I need to do a batch comparison of images and delete all but the highest definition/quality versions.
Every search I do yields either horribly out of date results and obsolete software and/or horrible reviews.
I have approximately 10k images I need to be able to compare to find duplicates, whether a different resolution or orientation.
>>2850781
CCleaner finds duplicates, then you can filter and delete ones you dont want. I think you can filter by size.
I use PhotoFinder
>>2850781
you are a literal retard.
put all images in a folder, sort by size. pick the top 30. sort by hand. wew that was hard wasnt it.
Photographer with only a years experience, any tips or instructions on house to do real estate photography?

Ultra wide angle yes, but not to make it look bigger.
Just to show the whole layout.
Keep the camera perfectly level to avoid making the room look bigger.

if the OP is one you took, my advice won't get you very far. that's a great shot, glad you're not in my market haha

Go to fstoppers.com and look around.
They have paid tutorials that will be exactly what you want, but you should be able to glean some basics from free articles.
Can get a ricoh gr IV for 120€
Do you think its a scam ?
>>2849970
No, that price is legit. I paid 160€ for mine three years ago.
>>2849973
And is it still satisfying today ?
Do you think i should go with something else now in 2016 ?
>>2849974
It still is a very nice compact camera with a rather small but fine sensor. Especially in combination with the tack-sharp lens in front of it - and the image stabilizer.
It's a perfect camera for high quality snapshots.
Get it if you want full manual controls and a professional point+shoot camera.
Also, the manual macro mode is fucking crazy. You can get as close as 3mm to your subject.
Even though I now have the new GRII, I still do love my GRIV to death. It's small but mighty.

C'mon fujifag this isn't a healthy obsession.
Fucking instagram is going to fuck everything up!
Today I noticed they changed the feeds to a non-chronological layout!
This is the beginning of the end, they're going to fuck you out of getting new followers and you will no longer be able to get your stuff out there
Pic related is how it's organized now. Accounts not related
Could you not have posted this in one of the instagram threads?
>>2845945
No, because this I'm not fagging out my instagram account. This is a thread about instagrams newest fuck up. Do you not understand how big of a deal this is?
They're acting like this is going to be better for the consumers by filtering their content according to how they see fit. This will force you to purchase advertisement spots for your instagram if you want your followers to even see your material.
This is exactly what they did with facebook, and this is exactly why I don't use facebook anymore for my photography
>>2845953
Great. Then something new will come along, and you can switch to that. Ta-da. The world turns.
It's a social media account. It's free. You don't get to be this worked up. They're free to do literally whatever they want. You might want to re-read your sign-up agreement.
Hi there! This thread regards /p/'s participation in the glorious 4chan Cup (see /4ccg/ on /vg/ for more info). If that is not something you'd like to see, just hide the thread and we'll keep all related posts within it. If virtual divegrass sounds like your kind of fun, then come on in.
Sorry for letting the last thread slip into the archive (>>2799976). It was close, at least. Currently, the /p/ team is looking at a ticket to the Spring Babby knockouts, and by extension, the Summer Cup! I have a lot of shaping up to do before then, though. Our last match against /vp/ was abysmal, and the claims that we PES'd our way to the knockouts has some truth to it, in my opinion. I will be v e r y c a r e f u l l y preparing a tactical export for the next match to see if I can't redeem our reputation against /r9k/.
In the meantime, our interim anthem against /vp/ was well-received and I have taken the suggestions from the last thread to create a new NEW anthem that'll stick for sure. Let me know what you think: (www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn2VBlY02SY).
So let's see how far we can get in the knockouts! I'll do my best to represent us well (my goal is to make it to a /vp/ rematch and score one goal). After that, we'll get started on a list of things to finish up with the team and our wiki page.
We face /r9k/ this Saturday!

I'm sure you will get it, but you may also get what you pay for.

would anyone actually sell a 6D for that cheap?
Generally wouldn't buy camera gear from websites unless they use PayPal, unless it's a well known store like Camera Warehouse here in Australia

I am looking to do some freelance work to make some money on the side. I took some pictures for a friend of a house they were selling (they paid me 50 bucks) and it only took an hour.
How do I find work? What skills do I need? Do I just need to know how to take pictures, or do I need to know editing? (I know no photoshop at all). I don't want to look unprofessional. I would kill to make a measly extra 200 bucks a month.
Currently I have a Canon 5D Mark III with these lenses (all manuals):
Nikkor 135mm, 85mm, 35, 50mm, 28-105mm
I probably need more lenses, or at least an auto-focus I bet (they cost so much!).

It depends.
Those lenses should be fine for now. You don't NEED autofocus in many cases...though it would probably be best if you want to break the habit of using live view and zooming in to ensure sharpness.
Now obviously some lenses are better than others in regards to sharpness, wide-angle(for interiors, some landscapes) etc. but honestly, don't worry about that shit.
Figure out what you're good at and whether you can do it with what you have. The most important part of paid photography if the confidence that you can get a job done.
You got paid for the house photos, which means that they aren't shit. Perhaps contact real estate agencies about photographing new listings or improving existing ones? Comb through local listings and ask yourself if you can do better. If you can, call the agent...cold calls are the best you can do in the beginning.
You can also consider selling stock...I suggest looking that up on YouTube. Lots of videos on it.
tl;dr you can photograph anything, with anything, and make good money so long as you take the photo well.
>>2851179
I have enough background in film to be able to get the lighting, focus, all good for crisp pictures, even indoors.
But I wouldn't be able to touch up the pictures at all (and for houses I don't see why I would need to). I am not interested in doing glamour shots and crap, but I will do anything for money. I will just let them know ahead of time that I don't color-correct/touch up pictures.
