Does /o/ follow the Race to the Clouds or any other hillclimbs?
Can normal humans even drive fast on Pikes Peak? I'd love to do a run up or down before I die
Possibly as a cause of my death I dunno
Is it like the Isle of Man TT?
what the fuck is wrong with this kid

>cruising in 5th gear on a street
>see honey on the sidewalk
>automatically downshift to second
why do I do this?
Because you hate your car I guess.
>>17415816
>>17415824
I accidentally downshift into second from fifth sometimes.
Not a good time.
>>17415861
It's not an accident. I did it to assert my dominance with my loud exhaust
My WRX got totaled and I've given up on finding another like it. I am willing to spend 6k on a car, and these regularly pop up well under that in seemingly okay shape. What I really want is a 560sec, but this seems to be the closest I can get for a reasonable price.
How reliable are these cars? My experience with mercedes is pretty limited, but it has ranged from unbeliavebly reliable 300Ds to god awful newer ones. Where do these cars fall on that spectrum? I'm willing to keep an eye on certain things, like I did on the WRX, but I don't have time to do serious work on it.
Get an E30 325i or an E36 M3...

Okay my car just died. The transmission is completely shot.
I need a replacement that is fun to drive, cheap to insure and relatively cheap (4K and below). Being that I'm 20, cheap insurance is a laughable idea.
Some info
>old car was a PT Cruiser GT
No hate pls
You read the sticky? Answer that first please

Yes and saw nothing I like.
Right now I'm looking at a mini if I can find an auto and an impreza
>>17415606
Older scoobydoo in non-outback trim. They're much better with a manual though. Find one that's already had the headgaskets done if it's a 2.5.
Okay /o/, I'm going to look at a 1983 Honda Civic 1500S today. The owner rebuilt the engine and the new one has only 50,000 miles on it. The only body damage is a hand sized dent on the right fender. Is it worth $1200?
>>17415576
It's an 83 civic 400 is a good price
>3rd gen civic
just get a 4th gen or newer
it is priced well but they're essentially worthless anyways.
He will forever be "The Shame of a Nation"
My mama's little Twingo is now gone and she wants a reasonably priced car of same proportions for 2500 €, suggestions?
5 twingo fleet
>>17415317
Another twingo. Get one with the glass sunroof this time. Spend the other 1500 eurodollars on coilovers, wheels/tires and a 1600cc clio engine from the same year, they supposedly bolt right up to the trans and more than double your power output.
>>17415489
>not a Clio RS block or D4FT from basically any modern Renault
Seriously, I've seen D4FTs for as low as 150 eurobucks.

It took a while but I eventually learned not to work on cars after 10pm.
>>17415339
Yeah DESU the way I see it if it's dark outside, I don't work on cars.
Someone steal your tire iron or why are you using a toolbox spanner for wheel nuts?
Alright so I need some help here. So I got this 73 Plymouth duster 340 and initially I was trying to replace the starter but in order to get it out I had to cut out the headers. Now I bought a new set that I thought would work well with the limited space but am running problems with the oddly high position of the steering column. Any ideas how to get it in there or do I have to sacrifice the idea and just go manifolds?
>>17415245
mate, throw that rust bucket back to the ditch ypu got it from and buy a 2k civic
I have a question about exhaust volume vs number out outlets.
I have a 4 cylinder turbo with a an exhaust that goes from one 3" pipe, to a splitter at the muffler flange with 3" pipes going to each muffler. Pic related
I'm trying to figure out if I removed the splitter section and changed to single outlet with a 3" elbow; would it reduce noise/volume.

So what are the odds of alternative/syntethic fuels saving internal combustion engines when emissions standards get too restrictive for fossil fuels?
Fossil fuels will never become obsolete as long as big oil is here for us but with that said, by the time regulations become too strict or fossil fuels start to dry up fully electric/hybrid vehicles will finally be viable for mass use.
>emissions standards get too restrictive for fossil fuels
will never happen as long as oil companies have the money to bribe the world to stay relevant
I personally believe ICE should be left to die tho
>>17415009
E-85 exists for a reason m8 but if you're talking about some other crazy shit then it would be most likely cost 10.00 dollars a gallon and the car industry would be infested with cheap electric cars and gega mpg slow cars that could only hit 70 mph

Saged, cunt
>installing new brake pads
>done it on plenty of other cars without much problem
>been trying to put pads in place for an hour
>decide to read manual
>you're supposed to leave the caliper bracket on, and just undo the lower slide pin
All this time, I've been wasting hours fighting with fucking calipers, trying to hold pads in while getting it back on the rotor.
I swear as I get older, I'm slowly unlearning things.
What's your biggest auto blunder, anon?
By the way, what took over an hour per caliper is now less than 10 minutes.
