My WRX got totaled and I've given up on finding another like it. I am willing to spend 6k on a car, and these regularly pop up well under that in seemingly okay shape. What I really want is a 560sec, but this seems to be the closest I can get for a reasonable price.
How reliable are these cars? My experience with mercedes is pretty limited, but it has ranged from unbeliavebly reliable 300Ds to god awful newer ones. Where do these cars fall on that spectrum? I'm willing to keep an eye on certain things, like I did on the WRX, but I don't have time to do serious work on it.

They're well built and all that, but they are 16-28 year old and it usually shows
Risky purchase, and I wouldn't trust one as a DD until I'd had it for a while and fixed its eventual flaws
Won't be a "cheap" car in any sense of the word - and its not an objectively "smart" choice either

If you have disposable income it wouldn't be that bad. It's not a canyon Carver though.
