So all new cars have a tradeoff of being super uggo in return of aerodynamics?
>>14128458
the only good cars are RWD
>>14128458
Oh my god that is adorable. It's like a hamster trying to act aggressive. I can't wait for these to come out.
>>14128465
non RWD cars are for faggots and your mum
how does /o feel about the r129 sl300 and sl500 as a first car. they are about 4-5000 where i am and i can afford another 4000 in repairs.
Don't.
As someone who had a 1994 E320 as my first car,
Run.
>>14128425
They aren't bad to work on, just costly parts.
It's cheaper than a C4 an this Grand Tourer isn't dime a dozen.
Hey guys, so I was driving home in the snow and as I was going around a turn my car slid and the wheel hit the curb, it's bent up but was I drove home I didn't feel anything different I'm just wondering if its bad to continue driving like this. Thanks.
>>14128423
YOU'LL BE JUST FINE BUD, RIDE IT OUT TILL SPRING.
Hey guys I'm a shit driver and crashed my ff shitbox because it's front wheel drive, instead of getting this shit fixed, I'm gonna be a dumbass until the bead lets go and sends my car out of control because I'm a shit driver with an ff car.
DUDE MY RIMS
My winter beater is also my summer beater.
Same here. It's called,"The only car I own", cunt
>>14128419
This.
Why would you even have a dedicated winter car?
>>14128559
Only retarded / poor people don't have a winter car. It makes soo much sense.
First of all having 2 cars means they both last longer, your main car will be usable for longer, if you live in a place with real winter your summer car won't be restricted in terms of ride height, rwd, etc.
Other retard drivers sliding around the roads hitting your shitbox won't matter as much when it costs 500 instead of 15000+.
Like It literally makes sense in every way other than driveway space, money, and ..... just no interest in your main car I guess.
>car fedoras
>mfw i had one of these
I wonder if you could still get it to work somehow.
Telly me why I shouldn't make it my goal to get a 2017 124 spyder.
Get an Impala.
>>14128266
its not very pretty
>>14128281
That's subjective though. What if OP thinks it looks pretty?
Certainly looks less angry than the ND Miata.
Pls tell me what is it in USA
>>14128210
New Mazda 2 not available in USA... /o/ pls help \o/
>>14128309
Mazda 2 is basically a Fiesta underneath, right? Or am I thinking of the last gen?
>>14128319
They're all shit help me pick the best
Explain to me why people do this again. It makes no sense.
I have lived in Chicago for 25 years, and been driving for 11 of them. We get plenty of snow, and there are enough times each year when there is a solid inch of ice on your car that you need to spend 30 minutes scraping off. I do not see the benefit of lifting your wipers off the glass.
>Come outside, snow/ice on car. Car needs to be cleaned.
>Use your snow brush to get the majority of the snow/ice off the windshield
>Lift the wipers off, flex them to break the ice, wipe the blades.
>Clean the area where the wipers sit, place them back down.
>Wipe the windshield with the wipers, clean any remaining ice, drive off.
vs.
>Come outside, snow/ice on car. Car needs to be cleaned. Blades are in the air
>Use your snow brush to get the majority of the snow/ice off the windshield
>Clean the lifted wipers, flex them to break the ice, wipe the blades.
>Lower blades on a clean windshield.
>Wipe the windshield with the wipers, clean any remaining ice, drive off.
So what does lifting the wipers in the air help with?
You still need to clean the windshield.
You still need to flex the blades if they are iced over
You still need to physically clean the wiper blades. Keeping them up in the air does not exlcude them from being covered in snow, or ice
So again, what does this help with? Does this somehow make a situation when the wiper blades are stuck to the glass easier?
Do people think the rubber gets damaged when you separate a frozen blade from the glass?
Has the rubber ever torn doing so? If it gets that bad, you should replace your blades. They are only good for 1 year anyway.
Like how does that help?
What's the benefit here?
>>14128209
I replace my blades at the end of every winter. They get beat up.
Using wiper blades over a poorly cleaned windshield that's covered in ice is really bad for the rubber. Tears it right up.
If anything, its best to remove the wiper blades if you expect snow, take them inside, wash them with soap, and some vinegar. This improves thier life, they dont freeze outside, they remain nice and flexible, and if they are easy to put back on, its less work than trying to get the snow/ice off them.
Lifting your blades only invited vandalism, and should a strong gust of wind come by, its gonna smack them against your glass, and sometimes upside down. Seen that happen.
>>14128209
Sometimes if it is a bad ice storm, when you go to lift the blades up, it will rip the rubber apart. That was the main reason for me.
I normally just left them down tho. Start the car and blast the defrosters for awhile to melt a bit of the ice, then lift the blades and drop em on the windshield a few times to break the ice off.
I don't think the problem is nearly as bad with the newer wiper blade design compared to the old ones with the metal frames.

How many times are you going to make this thread?
i have come into about 500k from inheritance and already make 6 figures. I want to spend around 50-80k to buy a car that I can track as well as show off my status, what car should I get?
Used R8
>>14133810
depends.
are you amerifat or europoor?
>show off my status
a nice rope
Are these winter tires?
I was picking out some used tires and noticed these had more tread than the others, so I chose them.
Now I'm noticing the extra grooves on the treading and believe I've made a mistake (I live in Georgia).
Does it say M+S? Then yes. They likely are.
>>14128169
They look like winter tires. However, take a look a on the side of the tire, it should say m+s or have a picture of a snowflake or whatever.
Worth waiting for the used market for an ND? Will there be one?
no, everyone who buys an nd has to keep it forever as per agreement with mazda
>>14128049
As with every car, there will be. Not to mention roadsters are one of the safest cars to buy used.
People often don't sell them because they want to get rid of a faulty piece of shit but because they need something more practical.
>>14128216
Why don't they make a hardtop with aluminum roof?
>TL:DR-Tuned 9000 vs tuned merkur vs AWD DSM
Ok, I am getting into the market to trade my car. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, and all my "car friends" are tards.
I currently own a 1993 Saab 9000 Aero. Body is like a 7/10, interior is the same, mostly because the headliner is terrible. The car is at stage 3, so that's just an intake and exhaust and a tune. It also has halo headlights from an e36 and it's wired for a sound system, I couldn't give a damn about that part though. I didn't do any of this to it the previous owner did. And I don't think he cared too much about the car. The clutch in it exploded on my way home from trading it. And the more and more I dig into this car to fix that the bigger a problem arises. It needs new cv shafts and new hub. If I were to keep it, i'd put a lot of handling parts on it and track it.
The first car I would trade it for is a 86 Merkur xr4ti, manual, no rust (big thing because i'm from Wisconsin) and 81xxx and a 5speed. This car has a full 3in straight pipe, cam, and tune. Might be lowered a bit too. The reason I'd want this car is because it's related to one of my first car loves, the Sierra Cosworth. I think those cars have lots of potential as a track car because of that, swap the engine at some point maybe for a different 4cyl turbo. That would be why I would want that car.
The next is a awd DSM, it would probably be an auto because from what I've read they are way stronger than the manuals. I haven't gotten any specific one in sight yet but I might soon. But I would just make it an all around fast car, 500-600ish whp and all the handling parts you can imagine. The nice part about this car is there's actually an aftermarket for it not like the last two.
So what do you guys think. If you have actually drove any of these cars before tell me how they were. Even the 9000 because I barely got a chance to actually drive it seeing as the brakes needed to be bled and I was just on the interstate.
>>14128021
>chink aftermarket lights
Please don't buy another car and ruin it.
>>14128024
I never did anything to the car except take it apart for the clutch job. The po installed the terribly
>>14128028
>I never did anything
So you don't repair things that need repair, but you want cars that will both needs mountains of repair?
>implying an old ff 4cylinder shitbox can beat a modern 5.0 rwd
>implying it can compete
>>14127978
I can smoke that POS in my EG Hatch with a few mods.
no fucks given
Yeah, I love when my car overheats before a single lap is finished!
Ok /o/, I'm looking at getting this 08' Mustang.

https://www.diigo.com/item/pdf/5gt7b/7hvs?k=298c0898c5db6c725231385c9da894e6
What are your thoughts? Alternatives for something 15k or cheaper? (Besides 10/10 Impala)
take it slow on those corners pal
>>14127976
Thanks. 8)
That interior is pretty horrid with the red but if you can live for it then I guess go for it.
If you can live without needing the GT you could look for a 2011+ v6 which has the same power but looks better, in my opinion.
Why are dealerships so shitty?
>airbag recall appointment
>get there 5 mins early
>they take the car on time
>"have a seat, we'll get started"
>3 hours later, car is still sitting outside service center garage
>"how's it going, seems like it's been a while just for an airbag"
>"sorry, we're busy"
>literally looking into the garage, 20 open lifts with 8 guys standing around smoking cigarettes and talking
Because warranty/recall work doesn't pay them
>>14127916
>8 guys standing around smoking cigs and talking
Damn, I need to look into a new career path.
Just make a little video and send it to corporate
