Ok /o/ I need your help. Serious posts appreciated.
I'm moving away in a year to transfer to another college and I want to get my car situation figured out before then. I'm 18 right now. The relevant cars I currently have in my family are:
97 Miata (worth about 5k)
93 Celica GT Convertible (worth about 1k, it's a bit broken.)
98 Boxster (worth about 8k but it's my dad's and he's not selling)
My dad generously offered to give me the Boxster if I sold the miata. He doesn't want 3 sports cars sitting around.
It's just as impractical as the miata but it's faster and has a much more solid suspension and chassis, unmodded that is. I don't think it would be good for college though. I preferably want something RWD, 4 seats, 2 doors, Manual, and costs anywhere from 6 - 8k.
It's hard to think about me selling the Miata as its my first car, and I understand that anything I buy will not handle like my miata did, but I the time for me to grow up is coming and I just don't think I can keep it around.
I'm leaning towards either an FC RX-7, A Toyota Hilux with a 22R, or like an E30 or something.
I live near Atlanta Georgia and the craigslist here is pretty amusing.
Pic related is the miata.
Thank you for reading.
Bump desu

Are you retarded? Take the boxster. The FC won't satisfy you and an E30 is pretty ugly, if you go bimmer get an E34 525i or 535i. Much nicer looking. Seriously though, I'd take the porshaw. People are stupid and will think you have money. Everyone laughs at miatas and I know it hurts because it's your first car... but seriously, everyone laughs at miata drivers
>>14735845
lol someone is mad their porch got whipped at the weekend autocross by every Miata there.
Don't be retarded, sell the gay Celica, get a gay wagon, keep the gay Miata, it's a great first car.
So /o/, is the 2011 v6 mustang good? I'm thinking about getting a used one but I don't know if there's a better option.
Depends
If this is a 2nd sporty car, hell no
Only car, not so bad...but a GT is not THAT much more $$

So, I just bought myself an ecobox, being that im a European student, and taxes are insane in my country.
But the question i cant seem to answer myself is, what kind of rims should i get?
>inb4 "dont waste the money on that shit car"
I know a Renault Clio IV isnt a decent car in an American perspective, but I like it, and I want to spend a little money on rims.
pic related, its the actual car
>>14735424
>what kind of rims should i get?
Steelies
Either that or Porsche Penis Wheels
These are the stock summer rims. I think they are kinda boring
>>14735425
thanks for your input. im not quite sure those porsche rims will fit though.
feels good man

How do you drink electricity?
>>14735383
your body generates small amounts of electricity, so in a way that connects you to your car, too :3

why the fuck would you buy that car if you were gonna cheap out on it
That's a great comparison, I'll take it.
I'm looking for a lightweight el-cheapo ff shitbox to learn stick on. Seeing a lot of 98-04 Ford Escort ZX2s for 1-2k and the specs/reviews look promising.
I'm sure I'm being retarded
Tell me why I should buy a Twingo/Volvo/Honda/Miata/meme of the day instead.
Realtalk: anyone with actual experience with a ZX2 enlighten me on the pros/cons. I've done a lot of research but /o/ always brings up something I'm overlooking.
Crickets chirping...
Old RWD Volvos are great to learn on though

Faster than non-Si Civics of the era. Kinda shitty to work on though. Basically the same engine that's in the 1st gen Focus but it has VCT on the exhaust cam unlike the Focus.
When did it become okay to advocate automatics like some fag. I go to car meets and people actually get angry at me that I laugh when they bring shitty automatics to a track day. "bro my automatic is faster in a straight line than your manual". What does that matter when when they are less engaging and shit around a track?
I feel the car crowd has some of the most ignorant enthusiasts
>>14734359
Because the majority of the people were never taught to drive a manual, but they still enjoy cars. Maybe you could offer to teach them?

This board has become too lenient with automatics a couple years ago being okay with an auto was heresy. Now it's like a buncha pussies rolled in with their purses.

Thoughts /o/?
>rustbucket, modded, owner doesnt know shit about his car
Run.
Im goona give you a LPT anon, if the mileage isnt listed in an ad, dont waste your time
>>14731279
Agreed. It may be a unicorn, albeit a FUBAR'd one
>>14731285
This was kinda my thoughts too.
Both you anons took the words out of my head. This guy doesn't seem like he knows what he's selling.
I just closed the real estate deal of a lifetime and am going to get a solid 70k in commissions.
I am giving very serious thought to just drop ± 25k on making my 2001 New Beetle go fast but I know little about cars tbqh.
If I were to go to 3 separate euro tuner garages and offer them $500 each to come up with a detailed estimate of what they'd do, with the parameters being "gotta go fast", and chose the one that seemed the most value for dollar with solid end results, took that to some forum for them to weigh in on, and dropped the cash in one sum, how badly would I get ripped off?
Would I just be getting a $25,000 oil change?
Serious question... Why does it have to be your beetle
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
i'll admit, the new beetle is an underrated tuner car and really unusual but i wouldn't dump nearly 25k into it.
with 25k you can get a lot of really excellent cars, like get a pristine e39 m5 and supercharge it + better suspension + big brakes
Whats up guys. So I have a 08 Mitsubishi Eclipse and I'm selling it. I have been trying to decide on what car to get. I want something powerful. Im thinking about a charger but my friend has a mustang and he wants me to get one too. I just wanted to hear what you guys think and if you can give me some other suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Well those two cars have a variety of options engine wise.. I've never liked mustangs and that's because all I see are lame v6 convertible mustangs. If it's at least got the 5.0 in it, it's something. Idk what to say about the charger. Year?
>>14730140
Unless you're gonna go balls to the wall racing and modding, you're not gonna notice a huge difference between the 3 just driving them around. I'd say the best handling of the three would be the camaro, but the mustang would be a close second. The challenger is a land barge but it has the power to get up and go. And it's probably got the best ride of the 3. Don't let someone make the decision for you though. Go try all 3 and then make a choice.
>>14730486
Also don't get a s197 3 valve. I have one and I would trade for a 5.0 or a camaro ss in a heartbeat. It has potential but it's gonna take more money to get to the levels of the other ones.
So is the new camaro SS worth getting? 0-6 in 4 seconds. Top speed of 170. Will I win most races /o/?
You willlose automatically because you have a Camaro
You will never race in your life. Even the V6 will blow away 90%+ of stuff on the road

How expensive is car ownership in your country?
In burgerland I pay 400 a year to insure my Miata, parts are cheap, and gas is about $2 a gallon.
>>14730035

>Gas $1.99 per gallon
