What are the best cars to get 1980 and below? This is what I have now.
>>14741529
you nailed it right off the bat, almost,
mk1 rabbit diesel, or rabbit pick up (yes, still diesel)
SA22c
>>14741541
Mine is a manual transmission gas rabbit. :/
Thoughts on the Chiron? I like it a lot more than it's predecessor, but still wonder how a car like that weighs 4400lbs when an average full size 5 passenger family sedan, with 4 doors, made out of steel weighs 3,300lbs. Still it's a very impressive car.
>>14741522
who cares
no one on /o/ can afford it
it's still fugly
>>14741522
It's just as fugly, if not worse than the gayron. Yet another boring supercar for 12 year olds to cream themselves over.
Well to be fair I can't afford many of the cars that are featured on /o/, or in any automotive publication, but I'm still interested in them.
Theoretically speaking, if I were to plug in a block heater every time I parked my car at home, would I be reducing the wear on the engine from cold start-ups, even in a warm area?
>>14741479
You'd probably spend more on power than you'd save on engine rebuilds.
>>14741479
yes
Yes. I do it for like 8 months at a time. During the warmer periods it will be a negatable difference so I would just spend more in power than its worth
So I have a bad habit of starting project builds, making good headway, selling it and starting over with something better. Don't suppose theres a way to get around this?
>>14741196
Be more patient
>>14741196
There is, actually. Don't sell it.
>>14741329
>>14741360
A bit more context, I had a ka24e, which I sold for a turbo ka24de, which I sold for a rb20, and sold it for a rb25, which I sold for a vq35 revup, which I'm trying to sell for a vq35hr. Everytime I get something better but I keep having to restart
Hey dudes. Is it true I can test my vacuum line seals using a cigar?
Or is Scotty Kilmer full of shit?
>>14740922
REV UP YOUR ENGINES
>Thing used for sucking smoke through
>incharge of creating air-tight seal
>>14740922
Yes you can. You just need something to see the leak.
>dudeweedlmao
>Hi, my name is Bernie Ecclestone and if you are a Formula 1 fan, I hate you. I will do everything I can to ruin the sport you love.
Retarded qualifying is back for Bahrain, guys!
>However, though team bosses agreed unanimously to scrap the format and return to the erstwhile knockout format in use since 2006, they were unable to enforce the change officially after the only options made available by the FIA and FOM were to keep the format or tweak it.

At least NASCAR takes the idiots' money and leaves it at that...
How about f1 goes back to God Damn v10s
>>14741482
Yeah the amount of cylinders will sure solve all the problems with f1
Great suggestion m8, you should send an email to the FIA so they can hire you and take advantage of your amazing problem solving skills to bring f1 back to life
Has speedhunters gone to complete shit? It is a dumped lexus with incomplete fender flares. Why the fuck would they think anybody would be impressed by this crap?
General auto journalism hate thread.
>being so mad you saved a picture
>>14740704
They are just trying to broaden their market. If you can appeal to 12 year olds on youtube, it's easy money.
>>14740766
12 year olds are already their market.
i got all nice new ngk plugs and a fresh starter
what tips does /o/ have to start a diesel in -8c/17.6f and colder?
>>14740521
blast it with piss
block heater
>>14740541
are these helpful because they allow the glow plugs to get hotter faster? i always thought they were more useful for gasoline engines?
Are these HID or xenon?
Pic of harness
This is what the tag has on it, I'm guessing only hids actually go up to 8k and over
Anyone hazard a guess?
Alright Br/o/s and w/o/mans....
I want an honest opinion
Thoughts of the Viper?
>I think they would be fun to drive
>Are they douche?
>small penis syndrome?
>would you semi DD one?
Just wondering because I am torn. I think it would be cooler than a vette.
Vettes are cool and perform well but every boomer in a Callaway cap owns one so I sway more for a viper since it's less common.
>vipers do look like a penis too me like old jags and cobra coupes
Inb4: Chrysler shit
Just want a consensus and give your reasoning
Driven a few. First gens are pretty funky and not that great but look cool. Later ones are great cars. They aren't super hard to drive or deadly, just a reputation from the early ones since nobody was making cars like that in the early 90s, it's just a powerful car, don't be a retard. I know someone that DDs a 2010 convertible and it's been good to him maintenancewise.
I'd love to own an original since it has nothing stopping you from killing yourself if you don't know what you're doing
>>14740157
That's exactly how I feel too.
I love that it's a car not a computer
What is wrong with getting a kit like this?http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-UNIVERSAL-T3-T4-TURBO-KIT-TURBOCHARGER-INTERCOOLER-WASTEGATE-BOV-BOOST-GAUGE-/380661303727?fits=Make%3AMazda|Model%3ARX-8
The real problem with buying a turbo kit is making sure the turbo manifold, intake manifold, and downpipe are strong, right? If I make my own pipes and manifold, and just use this kit for the turbo and intercooler piping, what am I going to risk?
I doesn't seem like I'd be getting any parts that were really running the risk of a failure other than the ebay turbo, which I've been reading aren't as bad as people say they are.
>>14739884
Don't make your own pipes and manifold.
You wont be able to stress-test them to the degree that a manufacturer can and you will blow them up.
>>14739895
Well no manufacturer makes turbo manifolds for the renesis for under $5000
>>14739884
Ebay turbo a shit.
Buy the kit, sell the turbo and then buy a real one.
Show me some of the stellar deals on your local Craigslist
>>14739777
do any cars cost that much money?
what's the rarest car in the world?
>>14739784
2 billion dollars seems pretty insane, but you know someone would pay that for something
http://tippecanoe.craigslist.org/cto/5513875597.html
This is kinda legit.
How are these?
very cool
>>14739758
Reliable?
>>14739799
probably follows the usual bmw rules of
very reliable if you maintain it, falls apart quickly if you don't
What is this?
It appears to be some sort of car.
>>14739550
It's a French electric sports car known as the Venturi Fetish.

Hey guys, I recently bought a used bmw x5 2002
The car comes with a "Business CD player". Whenever I buy a music CD from a store it works perfectly. However, CDs that I custom record at a music shop do not work. Why is that? I have tried burning cds in both AUDIO and MP3 format and both dont work. I dont understand why this isnt happening. I use to burn my own cds and play them on my old car (Mercedes C class) just fine. Why is this happening? How can I fix this issue?
bump have similar problem
bump my cousin told me about this issue yesterday
does nobody here own a x5 and can help with this?
