whatever you do, don't post in this thread about how awesome the new miata is
This is a first car thread.

why do you use a CB radio?

What's the most paranoid shit you can put on/in your car? Radar detector, dashcam, etc. I'm talking weird shit, too. Like things people would use if they bought into chemtrails and reptilians.
>>14744496
know an ex special forces guy that has the best radio equipment money can buy on his humvee, he can listen to the guys on nasa on the space ships or the iss.
we are not alone
>>14744496
Someone properly paranoid would never use a vehicle with electronic management. Pre '90s carbed engines most likely.
Besides maybe a shortwave radio, anything else would be james bond clichés or just pointless.
>reflective tape over the plates
>full tint on all windows except front
so I have this list...tell me how shitty the shitty cars on it are,
why do they suck?
are there any particularly dumb options?
why are they dumb?
I'm gathering data and I hope you guys can be good at telling me whats shit(ier) and what isn't...
people have told me good things about the Toyota RAV4, the Chevy Equinox, the Nissan Rogue, and the engine performance of the Mazdas on the list...
I've not sat in any of these yet, this is part of the winnowing process, so get ready to shit on my taste in vehicles...
READY. SET. GO!
>>14744489
Mazda 3 and outback are ok
the rest are shameful. You should probably leave.
>>14744489
>buying new
What do you actually want in a car? How much can you spend? Cash or financing? How much down? Do you have a wife or demon spawn to keep happy?
>>14744501
>the rest are shameful
Why?
>You should probably leave.
Again, why?
I figure, this being 4chan(or indeed simply the internet), that there are plenty of people willing to talk shit about things like this...
Hello /o/
I've taken the plunge and purchased a 2015 Fiesta ST after lots or reading, researching, cross-shopping, and test driving. I'm pleased with how it performs, though it is of course no race car. I purchased it with the intent of some minor to moderate wrenching over the next year or so. To that end, I am now collecting data and opinions on modifications to the Fiesta ST.
Currently it's a base model bone stock, so I'm looking for opinions and info from Fiesta ST fans/owners, or at least conversation and debate from other users. I have joined two popular Fiesta ST forums and have started similar threads there, I just want to get a more varied scope of help.
Thanks.

Get your shit together
1 : Sell it
2 : Buy an NA Miata
3 : Dump all left over cash into suspension, brakes, turbo kit, other mods.
What do you want out of it?
Turbo kit is your best option to make actual power, but very expensive.
If you just want something fun and quick then strip weight, buy some adjustable suspension and have it four wheel aligned.
Alright /o/ I've finally cracked.
I have a neighbor who has THE LOUDEST FUCKING CAR on the planet and I'm 100% sure it violates noise ordinances as the asshole comes home at midnight every night and then leaves at 5am but only after turning on his hoopty and then revving the engine for 10 minutes straight to warm it up.
I've complained multiple times to the home owners association but they've done nothing about it and I've filed numerous noise complains and nothing has been done because our Police force is fucking useless.
I'm going to take matters into my own hands
The car is in piss poor shape and sometimes doesn't fail to start and that is why I'm here.
I want to push his car past its survival point, it constantly leaks oil and transmission fluid and stains the road.
They already make enough noise as it is hooping and hollering at night from locking their own dumb asses out of their house and having smelly pork BBQs well into the night and playing loud rap music. The car needs to go fucking now.
How do I do this? it's a 1973 Chevy Impala two door on 40 inch rims or some shit like that. It's definitely a hoopty. although I could be wrong about the year and model.
All I know is that it's fucking loud and short of shooting his engine block to shit and getting sent to jail I want his god damn car gone.
pic related is similar to what the car looks like sans that much lift.
>>14742902
You're going to get shot. Poking a wasps nest is a bad idea. That said if you want to assassinate it your best chance would be to get underneath it and drain the oil, but obviously do it in the dead of night and quietly, and take the oil with you so it isn't obvious sabotage. If the car is truly donked up it'll be easy to get under without making noise so you have that going for you. Good luck.

>living in a place that has homeowners associations
Poor suburbanites are gross and sad. What sad things they experience like nigger donks and shitty neighbors
Do something equally obnoxious like mow your lawn at 2 am.
Is Cadillac worth buy with 150000+ miles.
>>14742845
If you plan on parting it out or just using the shell. Otherwise, you're buying a lawn decoration
>>14742851
This is being sold for $ 3500
So it is not even good for just driving here and there as a regular car
>>14742860
If you just need something to get you places, get a reliable econobox like a civ, corolla etc. The cadillac would be a little niggery. If you want something comfy maybe grab a panther. At least they're proven as reliable.
Basically I need wheels for my Cruze LT
No, I don't care if I should or shouldn't buy some new expensive wheels for it.
Just help me out, since I'm gona buy it either way
I want to buy some wheels that look exactly like this ones. Or atleast alike..
http://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_nurburgring.php
But in Gunmetal
I only want to spend 140-200$ (therefore I ain't buying those ones) and they need to be 17" exactly.
Please help me out. Make me atleast do the right wheel choice.
Thanks /o/
>cruze
>>14742570
Go to a junkyard and get some oem wheels. Also, stop making this shitty thread. We didn't help you the last two times and aren't going to this time.
>>14742577
great community
So if a "classic" car has a salvage title can the title be cleared in any legal way?
>>14742403
The only way i can think of is exporting it to a different country and moving there.
Anyway i googled and my state does allow it however you need to document repairs
So what the fuck should i do if the car actually doesn't need repaired at all?
>>14742440
Take it for inspection?
I'm looking at a 370z with 85000 on the clock
http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/nissan/370z/2009-nissan-370z-coupe--fpa-558c1dd1809347f88441df4a0082487f
I've got no idea how long these things run for though and I don't want to buy a sports car just for it to poop out on me after a few KMs
>>14742370
i bought two cars with 300k km on them they where fucked.
sweet spot is between 50-150k anything over 200k is pushing it.
luckily my latest car only needed a couple of sensors and a tune for a maf delete 210k on it.
depends how the cars been treated and where its been driven try to get cars that sit in a closed garage on the highway.
>>14742378
Is there anything I can look for when I inspect the car?
I know that any rust in the engine bay and snowy residue on the battery are bad signs but the only car buying experience I have is buying a focus new from ford last year
Get a PPI before you buy the car.
85k is literally nothing. Those Z engines are bulletproof
Buying a car for the summer holidays cheaper than it costs to rent a golf for a month.
What would you go for?
Requirements:
Seats atleast two and some luggage
Not extremely slow
Not extremely thirsty
Able to put 10k km on the clock without too much of a struggle
>>14742324
>Honestly thinking that 10km is even beginning to be noteworthy
>>14742328
Then just ignore it you sperg.
>>14742324
>Pickup in the Netherlands.
From what country are you?
do they make diesel hybrids?
if not, why not wouldnt that be the ultimate best option?
>>14741934
Ofcourse they do, there isn't any reason why they wouldn't.
Hybrid anything is the best option these days for normie spec cars
>>14741934
99% of the trains you see are powered by diesel-electric
>>14741934
PSA and Merc do in Europe
The problem is hybrid and diesel both add cost and many tax regimes favor gas hybrids.
Thoughts on this?
ausfag here it seems ok but i need yanks opinion.

Pontiac is dead. Putting a logo and a bodykit and a signature on your fifth gen Camaro will not make it a Firebird.
It's shit.

And their other kits that were in that video that I forgot to write about but remembered to screencap are shit, too.

Does any/o/ne know how to drift without a hand brake? I drive a Ford Thunderbird 1988. Pic Related
only plebs use the handbrake
learn proper techniques use google
Suck sum cock
Use the intertia of the car to swing the ass end around, then countersteer.
Or assuming you have enough power (read: 5.0) just mash the gas and powerslide.
Is there literally anything lighter and with more HP at ~$35k? Why does this segment lack so much competition (as far as new cars)?
>RWD Coupe
>350HP NA V6

I'd still rather have the z though.
