Ask someone who works for an aftermarket automotive product company anything thread?
I'm bored. Mostly turbo related parts.
Pic related is a customers GTP running a 7286 comp turbo.
who is your waifu?
>>15359563
Where are you located? Ever work on a 2004 monte carlo?
>>15359563
I want to street tune a N/A 3.0R legacy 2005, and make maybe 300-400 whp. I've thought about boosting it, raptor au makes supercharger kits for it but I want something with more low end power.
I understand this wouldn't be cheap, but would it be ridiculously expensive? And would I have to get the engine rebuilt with forged/billet components?
What's the best way to paint your wheels black? I'm lazy and don't want to have to remove anything, but I also don't want them looking like shit
get black wheels you cheap jew ricer

Redpill me on the Acura RSX type-S
I'm looking to buy a 2004 Acura RSX Type-S.
Anything horribly wrong with the car I should know about aside from > it's a fwd
I read they have a problem with the 2nd gear grinding and some have reported the car even popping out of 2nd or 3rd gear.
It has 71k miles and the guy wants $8500. It has a rip in the drivers seat and I could probably offer him a little less with the justification that I would eventually have to reupholster the seat. I haven't gotten a look at the car in person yet so I don't know about any other issues the car might have and it looks clean aside from the empty water bottles and pieces of paper the guy has in the car
>redpill
just shoot yourself in the face please
>>15359531
Get an Integra instead
The hatch leaks and the seat ripping is nearly standard on used listings.
The turning circle is stupid large. Otherwise good.
I'm extremely satisfied with my Ranger 02 offroad with it's fuel economy and the fun factor on how it drives. The problem is my AC
I checked under the hood and..
>AC compressor did not go on
>Try adding refrigerant and it didn't do anything
>Took it to the shop where they checked for pressure on the lines but everything was fine
>THe guy said it's gotta be a cut circuit
Im not mechanic but with a diagram you can find where all the circuits lead on my ranger. I'm frustrated because I called several Mexican places in an effort to save money, they all say "It could be anything from $45 to $300" I imediately call them out with anger.
Does anyone here have a good tip on figuring out how to fix a cut circuit or a brief estimate on how much I could be spending?
>>15359423
>It could be anything from $45 to $300"
Uh, that's about right, it could be any number of things and a tech over the phone has to choose between telling you the worst possibility and having you flip shit, or telling you the easiest possibility and having you not come in at all.
get a multimeter and check the voltage to the compressor, at least.
Google search for an HVAC wiring diagram for your Ranger, check all connectors.
>brief estimate on how much I could be spending?
nigger that's what all those techs told you
>"It could be anything from $45 to $300"
this shit is their job and you come on here acting like a bunch of anonymous retards, most of whom do not even own cars, could possibly know better.
Use your owners manual to locate the A/C clutch relay. Remove and jump the relay with a small peace of wire or paper clip. If the low pressure switch is preventing the clutch from engaging this will force the compressor to engage. Do not use this to force the compressor to stay on for a long time or you will burn it out. This is handy if you are haveing a hard time filling the low pressure port of your ac system.
Pic Unrelated.
>>15359423
Why not check the fuse and relay if you think its something electrical?
Daily reminder that Snek is literal God machine.
>Europe btfo
Literally the only thing that could kill it is airbags
>>15389181
>Only sold in America
>Because it doesn't sell well in Superior Europe
God Machine? Not a fucking chance.
>>15389208
Tbh it's probably illegal in Europe given the absolutely minimal safety and emissions in it.
Hey auto
Cars are a foreign language to me. Every time my husband says anything about our vehicles I don't understand.
When I go to get an oil change my husband taught me to just say no to everything because mechanics take advantage of women because we are car idiots. Not arguing that.
So auto besides the "for dummies" line of books...
What are some books or resources I could find and read to learn about cars in general, from how they work and how to build one from parts?
Yes I am ambitious but I really want to learn and would love to build a car with my husband but I know nothing.
Thanks for listening to me!

Mexico has been making cars forever. Most of the factory work is done by robots anyways.
That said

No thx

This is outrage. #trump2016
looks exactly like the 2016 Nissan Frontier with a Benz nose.
meh.
Hey /o/, what do you think of the 135i and 135is coupe? I've been considering it for my next car. On paper it seems pretty good
>3.0 twin or single turbocharged inline 6 with direct injection
>306 hp 300 lb ft for the 135i
>320 hp 317 lb ft for the 135is
>4.8 second 0-60 for the 6 speed manual
>~3350 lb curb weight
>30 mpg
Unfortunately it has no LSD but other than that it seems like a pretty fun car with some tuning potential
Spiritual successor to the first high power 3 Series models now that the real 3 Series has become a miserably fat bucket.
>>15359113
The lack of an LSD is a big deal if you want to increase power. 335 guys know this all too well.
>>15359113
That special double turbo sounds like something that is just waiting to fail and is gonna be super pricey to replace.
Other than that it's the only beamer I'd be willing to buy right now.

I should never tell anyone irl this story.

My first car that I thougjt was cool was a 1984 Porsche 911 targa. Too bad they cost an arm and a leg to get one in mint condition.

you are still in school, anything can happen. Just try and don't be a bitch. All of those cars are easily affordable to a working adult making more than minimum wage.
If you score less than 87.5% on this you don't belong here

nice but did tesla know that there is other colors than black ?
Good idea.
I also park far away from cucks / obvious women cars (Miata, VW Beetle). Never know when the dicklet, nu-male will take their pent up Manlet aggression on your nice car or "because muh environment" and key your car.
Also niggers. They don't respect other people's shit.

so guys, how much do recommended to fill in, what psi on the front and back?
>>15358737
>>15358737
A couple psi above the recommended for slightly better mpg.
>>15358739
Don't follow this verbatim. Do what it says on your tire.
Hey /o/
Can anyone enlighten me on what's wrong with the car in mention?
What I see is, it's almost perfect for my needs but they are so rare that I am thinking maybe the reliability is bad?
Most reviews are glowing on it.
>GM
There's your problem.
Great drivetrain and chassis, stupid overpriced body and interiour
>>15358696
Ls3 and a bunch of other standard GM stuff so pretty cheap and easy to work on unless you break one of the holden pieces and actually need it shipped from Australia.
I recently purchased a Transit van like pic related and I'm having it restored.
It's time to pick a color but I can't decide.
I'm open to anything.
Why not the original color?
>>15358694
factory light blue
>>15358736
Looks too much like a work van.
>>15358766
That's Monza Electric Blue I think.
