>ignore dealer that I need a new air filter
>Car breaks down a few days later
Is the dealer, dare I say it, always right?
Really marks you think

Wew lad
>>15364592
You're right, it probably has more to do with me driving into a river
>>15364592
You're right, it probably has more to do with that low oil light.
How much is fuel in your area?
$2.24/gal Regular
$2.35/gal Diesel
>>15364560
1.829/gal
>>15364560
$2.20 for gas and diesel, which is rare for them to be the same price
>>15364560
2.65$.

Hey /o/ I am having some problems with my 1998 Ford Explorer. Recently my battery light has started coming on and originally it would if I was under 2000 RPMs, I replaced the battery and the light still comes on under 1200 RPMS, my battery gauge is all the way down. Im assuming this is either a bad alternator or bad wiring, can anyone give advice?
>>15364542
All you had to do was get the system tested at a parts place for free. Your battery could've been fine. It's probably the alternator
>>15364574
I didn't do anything about it for a while so battery was dead at home so I had to get a new one to get it moving
>>15364542
I can't believe people still replace their battery when they see the battery light on like its some sort of maintenance minder telling you to change it. The battery light indicates a CHARGING SYSTEM FAILURE meaning your alternator is dead. Way to waste money on anew battery that you killed fucking retard.
The snek just got BTFO by the nsx at the pikes peak hill climb. The nsx got first place in its class in its first ever race.

O.k. now what
DCT transmissions seem like massively precious winky snowflakes.
>creeping in traffic wears it out
>every gearshift wears it out
>forever needs updating and recalls
>not that reliable
>shit to drive fast
DCT is basicallly an executive toy - impressive in certain showoff situations, but practically useless in normal, commercial, heavy duty, or racing use.
>>15364317
>practically useless in racing
That's why the fastest race cars use DCTs, right?
>>15364317
They are useless for most everything else but in serious racing where you swap out transmissions every so often, wear and reliability are less of an issue
>>15364327
It only has to last long enough for the race to be over...

Are you fuckig kidding me? He sold the non GT that was CROWDFUNDED and got a GT? Are you fucking idiots going to give him more money to fix his car and maybe buy a cobra?
My 2005 Civic has retarded acceleration and keeps sputtering. I was inclined to believe it was the camshaft position sensor and once I replaced it, the problem was gone, for about 2 weeks. Now i'm back to slamming on the gas pedal on major roadways and not getting ANY kind of response for seconds later, and when I do the car jitters like it's on crack every time there's a gear change. It also requires like 10 seconds of cranking to start. What do you think it could be /o/?

Anon, I'm so sorry
Hey anon, whats that third pedal for?
It's for fuckin your bitch
>>15363987
Pressing the third pedal, or the turbo button in technical terms, gives you more speed.
It's a simple three step process. First, press the turbo button all the way to the floor. Then, press the first pedal (tachometer control) until the tachometer is just below the red area, then you let go of both and you should get at least 40-50% more speed.
If you don't have a tachometer, don't worry. There is still a built-in function in which you just press the tachometer control until you hear the engine bouncing off the highest speeds rapidly. Then let go of both pedals again, as before.
That's the parking brake
What a time to own a car in Paris !
As of today, every single vehicle built before 1997 is fordbidden to enter the city of Paris thanks to the Mayor of Paris, socialist Anne Hidalgo.
Yes, every single car built before 1997.
You want to ride the Champs-Elysees in a Citroen DS ?
>nope
You want to leave your high-end hotel in a Ferrari 250 ?
>nope
You want to commute to work in your Honda Civic because you will in the suburbs (suburbs in France are mostly poor) ?

You want to kill penguins in Antarctica driving a twin-turbo 2015 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S on Rue de la Bourse ?
>Absolutely
>>15363986
In today's Paris I more worry about cars not being halal
>>15363986
Doesn't seem realistically enforceable, unless they have checkpoints at the edge of the city on random days
>>15363994
They DO actually, they started stopping every car that looked old.
After verification, if your vehicle is more than 19 years old, police bikes will escort you back to Paris's edge.
In October people who don't comply are to be fined €35
So German engineering memes aside, how reliable is the Audi A4, specifically the 2.0T models?
Found one for $8,000 with 58,000 miles.
>>15363932
Salvage title or abused in other ways. Run away. Anything you save up front you'll spend in the long run. Shut up and buy a civic.
Just get a BMW. Audis handle poorly and the "luxurious interior" isn't all that luxurious.
BMW has the interior game down right. Not too luxurious mixed with some sportiness. And BMW has much nicer lines and curves.
The Audi idles like a tractor while the inline 6 idles with purpose.

So? I have a break from university soon in Melbourne. Thinking of doing some uber instead of playing games on the holidays. Is it worth it?
>>15363911
How should we know if it's worth it for you?
If you want to put a bunch of miles on your car while letting its interior get fucked while simultaneously getting shot buy some guy you picked up. Sure.

I'm starting this thread again because I made the mistake of putting 1972 in the last one. Of course you all chose late 60s muscle cars. I was hoping for something different. See below:
The year is 1962 and you're a young man with a decent middle class job and a knack for automobiles.
What do you buy as a daily driver that is sensible, beautiful (in your eyes) and will impress those around you.
There can be only one
Since I probably can't afford a 250 Spider Pinin II, I'll take the next best thing: A Fiat 1500 Spider.
I'll bite. Nothing would be better on the new American freeways than a hemi 300H. You know, Anon, if you want European cars just say that this hypothetical young man lives in Europe and save us and yourself a lot of grief.

Why are Americans so averse to corners?
>>15363723
i drive my volvo in the twisties all the time and it has stock suspension. does fine, actually you need to be really brave to push it hard.
its more of a momentum car than anything
How long did it take you before driving stick was "completely natural", automatic so to speak. How often did you drive daily?
I learned at 12, it took 3-4 self taught fuck abouts for half an hour each in a shitty old rover metro around a field.
It's not hard, if you have any amount of mechanical sympathy you'll be fine. If you have none, stick to an auto civic or something and leave the proper cars to the enthusiasts.
>>15363655
I've had pic related in the OP for about a week. I'm not fucking up or stalling it but I still have to think about what I'm doing. Just wondering how long it usually takes before it all becomes instinctive muscle memory and stuff.
>>15363626
1 hour, i drive once a week for 30 minutes
