Probably a long shot on here, but does anyone have experience with these cars? I'm thinking about getting one of the older models (circa 2008 sell for about 70k right now) and I wonder how they are on maintenance and as daily drivers. My understanding is the older ones are basically fancy Mercedes S classes.

What are the best cars under $4000 for reliability, mileage, and low maintenance expenses?
I was thinking 2001-2003 Lexus ES 300 for reliability and I like how it looks, especially the comfy looking interior, but I read that replacement parts are really expensive.
What are some cars that fit the bill?

Top Gear memes aside, the Z40 is an okay car. Just don't expect it to be anything more than it is: a luxury hard-top convertible. It's not much of a sportscar and not as a practical as a sedan or some other econobox.
Personally I don't like it. There were only marginal improvements over the Z30 body and in some ways it was worse. Also it didn't compare all that great next to its R230 SL-Class competition.
