>65mph Highway
>Start accelerating on the onramp
>normies are going 40mph on it
>start riding their ass to make them accelerate
>get brake checked
>normies merge onto highway at same 40mph, and accelerate to 70mph while on the highway itself.
Aren't you supposed to merge onto the highway as fast as the people who are already on it? I dont understand all these people who don't floor it on the onramp. This is what literally causes traffic.
>People on highway have to slow down to let people merge
>Rinse and repeat every ramp
Fucking why?
Nobody taught them how to drive properly from young on.
I was taught to accelerate to the highway flow speed, even if that means pedal to the floor.
Others were not taught to do this, or are afraid, or are too stupid. Probably a combination of the three.
Nonetheless, it's common sense to do this, even without being taught, but many people lack common sense.
On a side note, some on-ramps are really too short, and should have been made a couple hundred yards longer...
>>16122900
>le nurmies XD
>they do things I do not so XDDD
Nevermind the fact that you drive an automatic shitbox, run the windows operating system, and stream mainstream music in .mp3 format... THEY are the normies; not you.
Fucking peasants! When will they learn?
I know in some states they stop before getting on the highway then get up to speed with a gap. Drivers training teacher told me this.
Who here rally races?
I am a complete /o/ noub, never really worked on cars, but what would it take to get into the amature stuff?
I want to buy a shitty manual off craigslist and gut it for weight ect ect and skirt dirty bends in the garbage classes.
Race can meet alot of thing. Do you want to drag, auto cross, circle track, ?
>>16122043
i said in the op, rally racing, a la ken block flying through the woods. I want to do that except in a trashmobile in a low class
>>16122015
Nobody here does stage rally as far as I know, but a few of us do rallycross. 90% of the fun at about 5% of the cost. Chances are there's an SCCA chapter in your area that runs it.
If you haven't really done much work with cars yet, it'll give you a great opportunity to learn.
First time posting on this board, I usually stay at home on /k/. I'm looking for a winter vehicle (I live in Iowa) and I'm kinda digging the jeep Cherokee XJ series. Not trying to spend a ton of money since I did that with my main car. How do you guys feel about this guy?
Pic related-dude is asking 7500 but I have him talked down to 6500...
>winter vehicle
>$7500
The fuck? Buy a 300 dollar beater
Honestly sounds too much considering it's a 20 year old car.
>>16121977
My friend (we are in NC) got a 97 grand cherokee for 3500 3 years ago. Hes put 100k on it so far and only had to replace the radiator.
I am selling my Volkswagen TDI back here in a few weeks and I need a new DD. I will be getting around $10k after I pay off my loan to put down on another car. I am mostly looking for a fun, reliable vehicle. I have narrowed it down to the following
>Camaro 2SS
Tons of Power, Enough interior room, shit visibility, questionable reliability
>Honda Civic R (I sat in a hatchback Civic to get an idea of space)
Honda reliability, somewhat cramped, average visibility
>Golf R
Perfect amount of space, good visibility, poor reliability
>Dodge Challenger
Very comfy inside, below average looks, turd heavy, low on HP
Those are ranked in terms of what I like the most from paper, and sitting inside them (I havent test drove any of them besides the Golf R). What does /o/ think?
>>16121818
So you're going from a ecoshitbox to performance car?
>>16121853
I got the TDI to be a car to last me for the next 15 or 20 years because of the fuel mileage and the dependability of the TDI engine (everything else on it was questionable though) now that that idea has been fucked I figure I may as well buy me a fun car.
>wanting a shitmaro
>wanting a grocery getter
>wanting a VAG
>wanting a fiat
You're a fucking idiot.
tell me /o/, whats so great about a 4age compared to other 4 bangers such as a 4g63 or a k20?
>>16121686
Nothing.
It has no power potential compared to a turbocharged 4g63
K20A is one of the current pinnacles of N/A 4 pots
>>16121686
Its just super simple and peppy.
Thats all
The Initial D Sprinter didn't even have a 4age, And the K20 was Honda's godmachine.
It was just 4 banger that didn't suck at the time and got meme'd. It's outclassed by modern technology though.
Will Trump fix American cars finally?
>>16121562
I am pretty sure obongo did famalam
>>16121562
>implying a man who can't even sell steaks is going to fix the US car industry
by the way, if you've been paying any attention at all, American cars are being fixed.
>>16121562
He's calling for mass repeals of unnecessary government regulations across the board, including the auto industry. Cars in general will start to get much better.
So after seeing that my engine had a standing rear main leak I decided to investigate. Surprise! What I thought was a V8 5.2 Litre that took 4.7 litres of oil ended up being a V6 3.9 Litre with a 3.9 Litre oil capacity engine.
> mfw It's been being overfilled for years by previous unaware owner causing a rear main leak.
What the fuck.. What are the possible damages that could have occoured from running a quart more of oil for 50k Kilometers?
Overfilling can cause sloshing, foaming, more prone to sludge, but a workhorse engine like the 3.9 I doubt itll do much to it.
>>16121459
how long does it take you to realize that you have 6 cylinders instead of 8?
>>16121484
2 Oil changes... I was fucking baffled
METALLIC HYDROGEN DISCOVERED AND SYNTHESIZED
>Harvard researchers have studied and observed solid hydrogen under pressure at low temperatures. With increasing pressure we observe changes in the sample, going from transparent, to black, to a reflective metal, the latter studied at a pressure of 495 GPa. They have measured the reflectance as a function of wavelength in the visible spectrum finding values as high as 0.90 from the metallic hydrogen. They have fit the reflectance using a Drude free electron model to determine the plasma frequency of 30.1 eV at T= 5.5 K, with a corresponding electron carrier density of 6.7x10^23 particles/cm3 , consistent with theoretical estimates. The properties are those of a metal. Solid metallic hydrogen has been produced in the laboratory.
>* they have made some metallic hydrogen and have it in a cryostat in liquid nitrogen
>* they might leave it under pressure and let it warm to room temperature or they could keep it cold and release the pressure
>* they are planning to test for high temperature superconductivity
>If it stays a metal at room temperature and after releasing pressure and was also a superconductor then it would be the holy grail of physics.

What would that mean for the automotive industry? Super efficient batteries?
>>16121208
nigga ion een know wat that means.
finna post about corvettes vs r35s doe
So instead of 3000lbs of lithium I need to carry around 3000lbs of liquid nitrogen?
wow such future!
Does anyone really believes his bullshit story that he has "a lot of friends" and he fixes their cars for free?
>>16120298
I've worked on friends shit for free multiple times, and my friends neighbor lets us use his garage.
Those ladies are cunts.
He's a fucking cripple what else is he going to do
Anyways bullshiting or not those ladies deserve to get fucked in court with their mind numbing "muh slippery slope everyone with a garage is going to become a mechanic without license now the world will end in chaos !!!1!!" argument
>>16120307
Yeah, i bet you have a professional garage and every week a "friend" bring you their car for you to work for free on them.
NJ State Inspection:
>Every 4 years for new cars, 2 years for old cars
>Emissions testing only
>Quick and easy, no appointment needed
>Inspection is free at designated stations
PA State Inspection:
>Every year, emissions and safety
>Must be done by a private mechanic
>Pay for testing, retesting if not passed
>Incentive for shops to charge for unnecessary repairs
Why is this allowed? It's a huge time sink to get three cars inspected every year, and each time I need to tell the mechanic why I don't need a $370 "fuel system cleaning".
>>16120253
BC Inspection: Nothing. Not even smog. Only one time for imported vehicles.
I feel bad for you.
SC inspection: does not exist. At all. For anything. It doesn't matter.
>>16120261
I used to live in NJ and it wasn't a big deal to go every 2 years. Pick any day at a whim and drive to the inspection station.
But PA on the other hand just seems ridiculous, especially needing to do it every year.
Are funny looking studs a meme?
>>16119943
>He doesnt weld his wheels to the studs.
Hakkapelitta master race
But really, the shaping of the studs make a huge difference on how they wear out, their grip on ice and how much they wear the road
Ah brings me back to my of that time ago

As much as I want Lincoln to be able to compete,
Caddy right now is (trying) to slug with the big boy Germans, while Lincoln is still playing with the Japanese luxury brands.
Ct6, more power, RWD lighter possible v8
Contaurus a shit
I like the soul but I understand the shit remarks I'll be getting for it.
Any cars that are efficient with a 2.0 engine power that won't get the flack?
>>16119364
Just drive the soul fuck what people think. If someone ask why you drive that car just tell them you were born this way
Op just get a Jeep Patriot.
>>16119364
it looks like it can off road. but thats far from reality
Where is the cheapest place to get wheels balanced? My car threw a wheel weight while going through construction shit and I don't feel like getting jewed out of a ton of money for something so stupid and simple.
>>16118452
>complaining about being jewed out.
>shopping around to save maybe 5 dollars.
Oy vey lad
>>16118452
If it's so stupid and simple, maybe you should do it yourself.
>>16118452
Walmart, $9 per wheel for lifetime balance/rotation. I travel a lot and it's useful to be able to roll up anywhere and get it checked/fixed for free.
So simple that even their shut tier mechanics can't fuck it up, just make sure the lugs are tight after they are done.

What? Are you fucking retarded? How can someone redpill you on TA? Where are mods or at least the janitors.
>>16118075
It's a race series where AWD can't compete and 90s crapcans with 900 horsepower through a pair of street tires reign supreme. It's also faster than Formula 3, making it the fastest motorsport on the planet after F1 and maybe IndyCar/Champ Car. Also, it's purely privateers at this point. No manufacturer works teams whatsoever.
>>16118075
Drive fast, minimal regs, hasn't got big 'teams' and its still relatively affordable
