Anyone in Kingston?
Currently driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8s. The car is great and has been running strong for 135,000 miles. Little heres and theres like the power locks breaking, windows failing, dents in the panels, breaking interior, some mechanical problems, etc... I'm thinking it's time for a new car. I've narrowed it down to 6 specific models that I'm looking at:
- 2013-2015 Honda Accord V6 (can't stand CVTs)
- 2012-2015 Civic Si
- 2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI
- 2013-2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI
- 2015 Volkswagen Passat SE/SEL
- 2013-2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T (although they're hard to find in my area)
I'm looking basically for a car that has nice interior, good stereo (or good upgradeability in that department/double DIN stereo), no CVTs, nothing too slow (under 7 seconds 0-60), 25+ MPG, spacious back seats in case I get some fat bitches in my car, low maintenance costs, and most importantly under $17,000.
If anyone could provide suggestions, that'd be awesome. How are these 6 cars? Any other cars I should consider?
Pic related, my current car

Keep the sentra. It was made just before nissan took a turn for the worst. Fix it when it breaks and save your money for something else and not another boring ass econobox.

Nissan was never good

This is why I'm looking for a fun car to drive. My sentra is an awesome car, and I agree that Nissan turned to shit right after this model, but I'm beginning to have problems with this car, and it's becoming pretty inconvenient. My tie rods are going out, there is an oil leak somewhere, transmission chirps, ignition has trouble and sometimes I get stuck in park, along with a slew of many other small issues. I'm looking to trade this car in before I have to buy a new transmission for it. And also I need something more reliable
>Where did it all go wrong?
>Why are they not known for reliability?
>some shitty nostalgia bait
Was that the guy who suggested the 911R?
>>16127313
it went wrong when they decided to diversify and start spewing richfag fodder. Modern Porsche (mostly) a shit, I can live with the Boxster and Cayman but the rest of them belong in the trash.

the nsx is apparently fwd therefore not approved
Yes, mainly the new one.
>Dodge Intrepid RWD Conversion
Why don't more people do this? It's so easy, the engine's already mounted in the correct direction, all you gotta do is swap in a RWD transmission, rear diff and axle, and a driveshaft.
>tfw my first car was an intrepid
>it had one of those foot activated parking brakes that i used every day and sometimes forgot to release
>the light for it didn't work (cuz it was a 250k mile piece of shit)
>only just now learned that they were fwd
Now I know what the noise was that it made when I drove it with the parking brake on
>>16127124
intrepids are ugly cheaply built cars that should have all disappeared under the cash for clunkers program.
The only people who would find this a good idea are domiciled in trailer parks.

GM sells Cadillac to Ford. Ford sells Lincoln to GM. what happens?
>>16126767
Cadillac quality goes down
Lincoln quality stays the same
>>16126767
they stay the same but change badges
>>16126767
cadillac makes fwd based ecoboost faux leather machines
lincoln makes new lighter monocoques, rwd m3 fightin machine
So, I'm officially registered for the 2017 Mongol Rally.
We're buying a Twingo, planning to tofu badge it. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you got it handled
twingo a shit
YES! That sounds really fun!, i hope you have a blast anon.
I think this is the most underrated car on the market right now. Is it because that The Lincoln Motor Company has been associated with the baby boomers crowd?
You k is, the more threads you make about this car, the more you open up yourself to criticisms of being a "shill," rightly or wrongly.

They choose to kill Mercury over Lincoln.
I want Lincoln to succeed, if only because Lexus has given up on making cushy cars in a misguided attempt to be German. Unfortunately, Ford continues to mismanage Lincoln, willingly or otherwise.
Can anyone tell me what this could be?

I have a distant family member that wants to sell me an 8th gen v6 Gallant for $1200, don't know the trim level but I know it's sure as hell not a VR4. He fixes and flips cars on craigslist so I'll get it in relatively functional mechanical condition, dents and dings everywhere on it though.
Is there a reason Gallants aren't as popular as Accords or Camry's? Am I fucked if I buy it?
>>16126201
Galants hella unreliable
t. Mechanic
>Is there a reason this Mitsubishi isn't as popular as a Honda or Toyota?
No one could be dumb enough to legitimately ask this question.
>>16126201
They were typically owned by niggers like how Nissans are owned by niggers
>They gave credit to LITERALLY ANYBODY
>Jiggs took advantage
>Jiggs never maintained them
>cars get repossessed
>Jigg buys a used one
>cycle continues
But to answer your question OP, they required premium while accords and Camrys didn't, plus Mitsubishi paint jobs are utter shit, the 8th gens in the US after the 2002 facelift are subjectively worse than prefacelift, but other than that their actually good cars
