You just identified how naive you are with the first three words of your sentence. If you show off your car, it will get broken into and the gear torn out of it. They'll even do it in the daytime and pretend they are the car owner. Many years ago, some would-be-thieves pretended to be my friends but didn't manage to fool the neighbors. So I was lucky and the criminals were scared off.
Stealth Installation is what people do now to hide their power level. Otherwise, sociopaths who truly don't care about others will come and steal your stuff. And your car will be damaged a lot because they don't care about doing it cleanly but only about speed. So you will probably need to buy a new dashboard front and replace it. Do you know how expensive that is?
So use a stealth install. Consider hiding the head unit display. Many thieves simply look at your dash and if it looks factory they move on. But if they see a 3rd party unit, they know you have an amplifier, speakers, and subwoofer to steal.
If you are in the western states, find one of the various chains of car audio shops and visit them. You can also find some of the better shops by looking at IASCA and other car audio enthusiast websites for names of local car audio sponsoring stores. Those shops will do the higher-end installs. I use Car Toys exclusively since the 1990's. They do stealth installs even to the point of having false factory dash fronts that open up to show the 3rd party gear inside.

For the last couple years of college and my senior year of High School I used to drive a 2000 Toyota Celica, easily my dad told me that I should just put regular gas in it. That's what I have done for years now. For Christmas my parents bought me a 2011 Toyota Infiniti m37x with only 65,000 miles on it. Great condition, perfect maintenance record. I have been reviewing the manual and the manufacturer says to only put premium gas in the car. My dad says to do as the manual says, but my friend who is a mechanic says that there is no difference between putting premium in the modern cars and regular unless you get an expensive sports car. I would like some advice soon before I refuel my car for the first time since it's purchase? What do you guys and gals think?
Sorry for any errors, this is my first post on reddit, ever.
TL;DR - Got new luxury car and the manual recommends that I use premium, overtime that's expensive, Can I and should I use regular gas?

Every car sold in America is required by law to run on our shittiest pisswater gas. As a result, car companies use the sensors that are available in the car to subtly change the running condition appropriately.
Your car will probably run 'fine' but it will pull timing resulting in less power and possibly worse fuel economy than if you put premium in it. Also, don't buy a car you can't afford to operate. Give up on on one fatburger per week to take care of your shit.

Can anyone help me with a replacing the plastic housing on a key fob. I have a 2001 Nissan Altima and the key fob plastic housing is in bad condition. The circuits work just fine and the closest dealership said they would have to make a brand new one for somewhere around $80 so I told them to fuck off.
I bought a new plastic case off of amazon that is the exact match. The problem is the circuit seems to be attached incredibly well in the old housing and wont budge. I only see four small black pegs that the circuit board rests on. Do I just need cut these, or is the circuit board likely glued to the back? I tried getting a small screw driver to pop out the board and all it has done is scuff the sides of the circuit board without budging it.

Need some advice /o/. My car just broke down and I've got two years left of college before I'll have a serious job with steady income. My parents are offering to buy a new used car for me, in the 10-15k range. Originally I was showing them 2010-2011 Bmw 328i's, mazda 3 hatchback, audi a4 but they are convinced that they would like to get me a brand new honda accord/civic/kia optima/hyundai veloster/etc. Something of that nature that has really low monthly fees.
I told them that I'd rather not get that because I'll be able to buy my own car in 3 years and if I have a car like that I'm just going to sell it and the value will depreciate a lot and theres no point in them spending that much money on a car that I'm just going to sell as soon as I can.I'd rather have them focus on paying for my schooling then that and a newer car that costs a lot of money, of which I'll eventually inherit the debt.
I instead suggested something in the 2-3k range, i.e. 2000-2004 honda civic, toyota camry, toyota corolla, something of that nature that I can just buy, use for a bit and get rid of when ready.
They are adamant about not doing that and say that a car like that is just going to break down again within the next couple years and they're going to pay a bunch of money to repair it.
This car will have very minimal use, driving to and from norCal/soCal (where I live and where I go to school) and that's about it. I really won't use it either than driving back and forth from school to home for the holidays.
I feel like I'm making the smart responsible decision here by not wanting to spend a lot of money on a car that I don't want, but my parents think I'm an idiot. Help pls

2004 Acura TSX. My parents just donated it, the engine was done. We weren't quite sure what was wrong with it but the mechanic drained it and there was metal in it or something. would have costed more than it was worth to repair it.
