What's your favorite anime about cars, /o/?

Wangan Midnight and Initial D a best.
Saw a Wangan Midnight arcade game for sale for $700, wish I could excuse spending that much on a game.

Post a more aesthetic car than this. Protip: you can't
>>16347299

Anything is better than a peugeot

Has anyone played this game?
How realistic is it? Considering I know fuck all about motors, is it a good place to learn some stuff or is it one of those "sims" that sacrifice too much in order to be a game?
Don't send me to /v/ pls.
>>16364378
That's like using FIFA to learn how to play football. Or soccer if you're American and fat
>>16364389
Yeah, you'd want to use PES.
>>16364389
Well, FIFA isn't very realistic to begin with, and it is about an activity that relies mostly on muscle memory and physical activity.
I was hoping I could learn at least some nice theory out of this game.
If an engine were balanced based on flywheel weight, and you reduced the weight of the flywheel for muh gainz, are there any secondary measures that can be taken to maintain smooth running or are you stuck with a massive disc on the end of your crank?
>>16364341
The flywheel is mostly for storing energy between power strokes. A single cylinder engine wouldn't be able to run without it. Balance is a it's second job.
Most of the balancing in an engine is done by the crankshaft, that's why 4 cylinder engines have massive counterweights on the cranks.
Lightening the conrods, pistons, and crankshaft will smooth it out a bit, as will matching the weight of the pistons and conrods.
>>16364360
I4 cranks are naturally unbalanced right?
Would a "V" type crankshaft in an I4 smooth it out even more?
>>16364368
Crossplane, like a V8, you mean?
ehh, not really.
A couple things I forgot are the firing and synchronization of the pistons.
An I4 is somewhat balanced because the inner 2 and outer 2 pistons are moving in sync. And look at the firing order: 1-3-4-2. Let's call number one the 'near side'
Near outer, far inner, far outer, near inner. It's not perfect but it works well enough
If it were set up to fire in sequence (1-2-3-4) that would create a rocking motion from one end to the other, just like an inline 3 or an inline 5.
Inline sixes are well balanced because there's 3 sets of pistons, and they're all moving in opposite directions relative to the closest pair.
>stop at red light

>engine starts rumbling and vibrating
why
>>16364268
Did you drive through a puddle?
>>16364268
Forgive me for being stupid but doesn't engine rumble and vibrate anyway?
>>16364286
Nope no puddles recently
>>16364289
As in every 3-4 seconds or so it vibrates much worse than it should :/
For it's price, what can I buy better than a Opel Astra GTC? 150hp
I need 4 seats.

Literally anything else.
>>16364243
cool. Tell me cars then. For the same price
ok. No cars?
so, probably we are going to have our entire fleet of automated robots in the future
but is cars fans faded to a dark future?
Autoracing (with Auto Autoracing) will be a thing?
I love how that car looks as soulless and lifeless as the mindless drones who will buy it
>>16364002
>the mindless drones who will buy it
This is a completely baseless accusation and you should know that.
I lease but I did buy my sports car from a private seller.
>>16364029
>leasing
>>16364049
I like leasing.
I have the credit and cash flow to do it. I started with a 2011 Camry, then a 2014 Lexus, and in 4 months when I take the Lexus back I'm going to get a BMW. I like getting a brand new car every 3 years as well as never having to worry about mechanical issues. On both of my previous leases they came a 2 year maintenance free plan. All fluid changes and tire rotations were 100% free. I already have my sports car so the lease car is strictly for work.
Judging from the sketches released by Audi, it's more likely to compete with the BMW X6 and Benz's GLE Coupe.
Until now, no news has been released regarding the seating capacity, or any power-train.
It's more likely to be powered by an 'electric-only' or 'hybrid-power'. Look the "e-tron" badging up in the front lip.
>VAG
trash
Design cues are taken from the Audi H-Tron concept and 1980’s Audi Ur-quattro(check the flattened lines over the roof and sharp edge looks all-over).
>A German car magazine speculated, it'd be powered by a V8. Which makes this an X6M and GLE 63 AMG competitor, if true.
>Source Article - http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2016/12/22/Audi-Q8-Edges-Closer-To-Production-With-Detroit-Bound-Concept-7737015/
The Q8 Concept is to be launched on the up-coming 2017 Detroit Motor Show.

What you think about this growing trend of super-sport crossovers?

fixed
I have a question.
Why do 6 cylinder engines have a "roar" exhaust note and V8s "burble"
Assuming both were from the muscle car era so they both favored torque.
If you hear a straight 8 running it sounds kinda like a combination of the two.
well my friend, the answer is very simple, you see the V8 it......SLAP ASS!
>>16363843
I am a FUCKING baseball playerrr
>>16363827
>"roar" exhaust note
>exhaust sound under acceleration
>"burble" exhaust note
>exhaust sound at idle
Are you asking for the difference between engine sounds at idle or under acceleration? You can just google why older V8s sound different man

there are lots of monteros and 4runs for sale near me out of those two guessing the 4runner is better?
Hello /o/. Car noob here. This is my piece of shit. Go to start it tonight and bitch won't turn over. I was due for a battery anyway. My buddy is driving me to my local autozone and the only battery they have is their Duralast Gold. I mean I know their stuff isn't absolute top notch, but it should last me like 2 years right?
I changed my brakes/rotors to Duralast Gold Rotors and brake pads and they seem decent.
Aside from the battery brand. Battery changes are rather straight forward right? Remove negative connection first. Remove positive last and don't let it touch any metal parts of the car right?
Pls rspnd
>>16363220
literally just disconnect the battery and swap them out you fucking idiot.
the electricity doesn't apply anymore when one terminal's been undone, there's no more circuit.
fucking google it
also sage
>>16363220
all batteries are made by the same 2-3 companies. get an AGM battery because it's newer technology. normal batteries haven't changed in 100 years.
>>16363220
Your piece of shit looks clean and modern. Could be a Lexus as far as normies know.
Get a new battery and go away.
How hard would it be to put a manual transmission in an old automatic Cadillac once the factory one goes?
>>16363162
depends on the model of Cadillac.

They have put manuals in Road Masters and Caprices. I imagine it can be done with the right amount of jiggering
