Hey /o/, I found pic related at a local scrapyard and got it for a steal. The Jawa who sold it to me knows a guy who'll fix it up like new for a few credits.
I don't know a whole lot about classics. How'd I do?
>>16358101
good luck not spinning it out into an embankment
A-wings are fucking deathtraps
>>16358101
>buying from a Jawa
You fucked up pretty bad.

Does /o/ help starnded motorists?
Like fixing their car?
Letting them use your cell phone?
Giving them a ride?
Males too? Or only females?
>>16349176
i gave jump start but that's it
>>16349176
Considering that breakdown cover is cheap?
Not unless I know them.
And even then, only if it's something I can fix.
My mother once tried to help a crashed motorist, and nearly got carjacked. And I believe that if you don't maintain your shit, you deserve what you get.
I only stop for someone if It's either very cold or very hot. Or if they are hurt
And even that is rare for me, Most of the time I'll just keep driving.
I helped one lady last winter that plowed into a tree on a rural road while it was snowing. She had a 4-7yo with her and the kid's head was bleeding (presumably from not wearing a seat belt). While I was talking to her I could smell liquor on her breath so I told her to go sit in my car and stay warm with her daughter and I would call a tow truck. Called the police instead
She was VERY mad when the police pulled up behind my car lol
The police arrested her for a DUI and felony firearm (she had a loaded shotgun behind the bench seat)

if you have no idea where it went then most likely a previous owner did the kickdown delete.
The kickdown on a c6 is on the same shaft as the shift linkage(driver side), The vacuum modulator is on the passenger side. Look close at that pic, you'll see a shaft that protrudes outside of the shift lever, that's where the kickdown should have went(I deleted it).
You don't have to run a kickdown, and they only really kick down below 45mph I think anyway, and that's only at WOT. You do however need to keep the vacuum modulator unless you run a full manual valve body. This controls the shift timing and shift hardness just like what >>16348632 said.
>>16348831
My dad used to talk about the olds rocket 88 he had, was that what they called the engine, I remember him saying how fast it was.
>>16348838
I'll check. It's weird. When the transmission is cold, of you are sitting at about 36mph (I have 4.11s) while going up an incline at part throttle the transmission will flutter between gears. Is this something to worry about?

Why aren't we in drag coefficient eggs yet?
Pic related, less drag than your prius.
because there comes a point of diminishing returns
>>16372557
people will buy a prius?
Cause my average speed is like, 30 mph.
I was gonna complain about my car being slow and a shitbox, but then I realized I sold the slow shitbox recently and bought pic related. How does it feel to not be driving a literal funcar because you're falling for the "not falling for the meme"-meme?
P.S.: Got myself Michelin Pilot Supersports for Christmas.
Bread on hood fgt.
>>16371682
>>16371677
But any car can be a fun car anon
Are real sports cars worth owning?
Why not have a perfectly simulated, maintained, and driveable car 24/7?
>>16370823
Because a 5 million dollar simulator will never ever come close to the tactile feel of even a $500 shitbox. I bet you think a fleshlight is close enough to "the real thing" too.
>>16370844
but new cars don't have any feeling
they all weigh 3500lbs and have electronics that take all the feeling and control away
>>16370844

check'd dubs too
Any other lonely anons ready to go cruising those empty Christmas morning roads?
i would, but i have to work mane
>>16370437
Yes, going to cruise around on the slushy snowy roads looking for areas to whip around in before visiting family
I did, on the way to work. Wanted to hoon but had to control myself because of double demerit points
That guy thread?

Bitter poorfags pls go
>friend buys brand new BMW 320i GT
>only drives it once a month
Why the fuck do people do shit like this? He literally uses a FIAT Punto pretty much 90% of the time while the BMW is getting damaged from staying inside a garage without moving.
Does anyone else also do shit like this?
Why didn't he just lease it if barely drives it?
>>16374580
>getting damaged from staying inside a garage
I don't think that's how it works....
Some people like to save their nice cars for occasional driving, so they don't get dinged/dented/generally beat up by regular driving.
Anything remotely modern is fine with being driven once a week or once a month. As long as the battery doesn't go flat, not driving it won't screw anything up.
>>16374651
>never heard of Standschaden.
Do me a favor and google it.
>Mfw the americans on /o/ act snobby about being able to drive a manual
In America most plebs have no clue

you think that's bad, try an American female who drives any car that is remotely sporty or popular.
Guaranteed it is sticker bombed with

Besides it handling well on a track which 99% of its buyers won't use it for, what makes this car a logical buy?
are ricers uncool now?
I don't want to go crazy with the shitty modifications, I just want some modest visual mods like in pic related.
>>16372315

Why do you give a shit what someone else thinks about your car? Just do whatever you like to your car.
