I'm looking for a car that can handle all the snow and ice of a Michigan winter. So far it's seeming like a subaru outback is my best bet, but it seems like they all have lots of miles on them for the price. I'm also undecided on which year to get.
I'm currently considering either a 2005 Outback 3.0R sedan with 142k miles on it or a 2004 Outback ll bean edition with 131k miles for $5000 for either one.
They're both 6-cylinder and get around the same mileage (17/23 or so). The 05 sedan has a 5-speed transmission while the 04 wagon has a 4-speed. The wagon has more than double the trunk space, plus more if you put down the seats, but the newer sedan can tow 600lb more. The wagon weighs 100lb more, but the sedan has a spoiler (for traction).
Which of these sounds best?
Is there a better choice out there for the price?
I'll mostly be using it as a commuting vehicle.

So I'm looking at a wide variety of cars now but i dont want this thread to be about what car I should get.
I'd like it to be about how insurance works in this situation cause I'm just not sure.
I have never been in a not-at-fault accident, especially one totalling my car so I'm not sure how this is gona work and how long it will take.
Kid admitted fault to cop, I had right of way, I have undisputable video of the event, picking up the police report wendesday and have a hospital report from that night regarding my back/neck/head pain.
Car is for sure totaled, all airbags deployed, complete front end frame/engine/radiator damage.
Clearly the other kids insurance can't dispute the claims because of the video but what type of estimates do they use for quotes? Like do they go off kbb? My car was valued at a little below $8k with its mileage and year so I'll be happy with an $8k check. (2012 Corolla S/ 83k miles)
I had Full Coverage everything including uninsured drivers.
Any input is appreciated. Incoming pics regarding crash.

I live in Australia and defects are crazy around here, I was driving my 1982 KE70 Corolla when I went pretty fast over a speed hump because of a tail gater, long story short, my horn and front indicator stopped working right, any idea what could've of went wrong? I setup an amplifier in my car that puts out 400w@2ohm. I also bought a 2ohm sub which can handle upto 400w.
Now I'm pretty retarded, and looking at the manual doesn't make much sense to me. I only have the single sub, and it shows me how to wire a 4ohm sub down to 2ohm, and a 2ohm upto 4ohm, and everything else is multiple subs.
If it helps, the amp is a Kicker kx400.1, and the sub is a Rockford Fosgate P2D2 12

I think you got the wrong speaker. I don't do audio but assuming each coil has a resistance of 2 ohms your options are the 4 ohm series wiring shown and a 1 ohm parallel wiring which will likely fuck your shit up since you'll be pushing twice the speaker's rated power. Your amp does have a 4 ohm output at 200 watts which you could use if you either can't return your speaker or don't want to bother since 200 watts is perfectly sufficient to give you tinnitus by the time you're 30.
This diagram did come with the amp right?

When i turned 16 in 2013, my dad took me to a car action to buy my first car

FWD cars in general. I grew up with FWD. I'm comfortable with FWD. I like modifying FWD cars. I know a good deal of what can be done with them. The actual number of RWD cars I'd love to own is incredibly small.
Also, Preludes are neat, but it really seems like it did come from Hondas Redundancy Department for Redundancy.
