You couldn't even be bothered to post a picture of your actual car?
It's a pseudo-luxury sedan, it has no aftermarket. Keep it clean and rust-free so you at least don't look poor.
the corvette absolutely rapes the gtr lololol!

I don't frequent this board, but I'm asking a bit of advice if you don't mind. I didn't see any threads in the catalog addressing this topic.
My wife and I own a 2013 Wrangler, pic related. Last year we traded in our 2009 Forester against my better judgement for this car because we were a little upside down on that loan. As fate would have it, we are expecting our first child now. I know it's POSSIBLE to manage toting around a baby in a Wranger, albeit a giant pain in the ass.
We are looking for something more practical for children, but not full blown minivan (though I'm not opposed to it lol). The only problem is, she drives quite a ways each day to get to school (I'm the only income) so naturally she has put quite a few miles on it.
There are zero mechanical issues with the car, body is good, everything works great, and we can afford the payments just fine. We just need something better suited for a family. Trade-in value for it is somewhere between $15k-$17k, but we owe $22k on it. Right now we are looking to sell it outright to a private party to get more money and maybe front some cash to cover the rest of the loan.
My question is, does anyone have experience with trading in an upside down vehicle and NOT getting railed by a dealership (trade in value credited mostly) to get out of a situation like this? I've considered trading it in for a car that is more practical and priced around $12k or so with decent miles and if the negative equity rolls over that puts the loan at around $17k, assuming the dealer fronts $17k for the trade in. Thank you!

You deserve the debt

I understand your point. However, to be fair, we actually got this for my wife with a plan to not have kids for a while, or at least until she got out of school.
Interestingly enough she was waiting for an appointment with her OB/GYN to get an IUD which was about 3 months. Probably should have worn a condom, but I'm happy to welcome our first kid.
>mfw this is thread is literally the typical LPG story (non-nignog edition)
Good luck OP, you're most likely going to take it up the ass on this one. I say just suffer through dealing with the car seat situation until you get the loan out of the red
I found this sitting in the garage and I assume the original tenants must've left it here. I'm curious as it actually looks pretty unique
idk but it's missing four lugs
That's a pressure plate.

Looks like it lol
Is it a comfy ride?
>142.jpeg
>clearly a 242
its not landyacht tier, but more comfy than most other cars its size
>>16574244
What is the comfiest car to ride in?
>>16574254
probably one of the newer luxury GT cars, comfiest you can afford if you're looking at a volvo? a D-body GM car, or Chrysler non-k based C-bodies
Hey /o/, I'm going to keep this short. I had a car that died, didn't have the money to fix it. Had already put a lot of money into it, so decided to just save up for another car. Got the car transferred plates, got a notice on old car from apartment complex saying to move it or it gets towed because no plates and not running. Barely manage to move it to street. Chilled there from October until this last Monday, where neighbor/friend messaged me saying police were towing it. However, I have not been contacted about this from them (if that matters). Never had anything towed before. So to avoid legal and towing fees, is there an option to sign the title to them and allow them keep it? (it doesn't run, but has a brand new battery/alternator/crank shaft/great tires). Can I just not contact them and let them keep it? Also, can I actually "reason" with them and say I couldn't move it because of the snow (which 'could' be true because there was so much snow on and around it you could barely see it. Honestly surprised they got it out in the first place). Thanks for any advice
>>16574196
maybe it was declared as "abandoned property"
just get it back and scrap it for parts
>>16574207
Impound fees might be more than it's worth. OP should just let it go.
>>16574196
>didn't have money to fix it
>saved for another car
how does this happen?
So I went and looked at a 2009 WRX STi hatch tonight.
Few problems with it, but if I can get lucky I might just be able to get away with it
First off, where can I search VIN ranges for recalls? 06-14 models had a recall for the engine that required a complete brand new replacement, and depending on whether or not I can get that recall work done is whether or not I buy it.
>the problems
>accident reported, not totaled, airbags not deployed
>no frame damage but does have a large dent in rear passenger side (about the size of a pair of clasped hands, not very deep and obvious respray work on the driver's side (obvious if you know where to look for overspray)
>driver's side foglight housing has been knocked out
And the biggest problem - A misfire on cylinder two.
Now I'm not too concerned about the misfire assuming that the car falls into the VIN recall range and I can get a brand new engine dropped in, but if not I'm not paying the 10k for the car they want. (only reason I'm looking at it, clean title WRX STi with 115,000 miles)
Anybody have any sites to help an anon out? OR should I just shoot a local subaru dealership the VIN through an email and see what comes back? (would they even do that?)
Pic almost exactly related (Same wheels and such) except it's the classic WR blue.
>>16574078
call Subaru dealer and provide VIN and see if they will replace engine. If they do offer the dealer 10k to repair the dent you speak of (dealers have connections with bodyshops)
>>16574091
>10k to repair a dent that's maybe 200 dollars total.
It's really not all that bad mate my DD recently got a love tap that was worse (tho mainly because I didn't fix the paint damage yet)
But yeah I'll do that with the recall, thanks mate.
Subaru fag here. Have 400 whp 2004 sti/ 05 wrx / 13 xv / 82 GL coupe.
Have been in the subaru game forever now. Can pretty much guarentee that the car wont get its motor replaced under warrenty.
Find another wrx / sti. Trust me, this one isnt worth it. Prob been driven hard and put away wet. What stupid mods were done to the car and who tuned it or OTS tune?
I'm going to get a 3rd gen camaro. However, having rode in a couple different ones, I am keenly aware it is not a very comfortable ride. In what ways could this be improved?
>>16574028
Typically shocks and springs
>>16574033
I was hoping for a more detailed rundown, possibly with specific part recommendations from /o/ approved makers, but I do appreciate your reply.
>>16574028
If youve got the money and have serious plans for the car, a company called Heidts makes an IRS for the 3rd gens

they worked hard their whole lives and are rewarding themselves with a sports car, but nothing too fancy, and that still gets good reviews in consumer reports
Yeah, OP. Why the hate over old guys having fun?
My ass is still gonna be going to track days when I'm 50.

How much coolant do i pour? and where do i pour it?
All of it everywhere.
>>16573468
First you have to empty your old dirty fluid
Go under the car and unscrew the bolt that you see in the black coolant pan under the engine
Put the bolt back in and then pour your whole bottle where it says "transmission fluid", which is short for "transmission of heat" fluid, aka coolant
How do you go from this...
...to this?
Well, they probably don't want it being confused for the Ford Explorer anymore.
