Amulet of Assistance - Sends a help signal through the world gate
—Spells—
Clash - Emits a rude string of verbal assaults at someone. Usually results in a violent conflict. This spell has no recharge time.
>The damp sensation of dew settles into your back. It's not a totally unwelcome feeling, but it is a bit of a chilly way to wake up.
>You observe your surroundings, and discover that you now reside on a lush plateau. The air is fresh, and rain has recently graced the grasses and ferns.
>A tall tree juts out of the center of the plateau. Its roots sprawl outwards, and its leaves glow with a wispy, organic aura.
>A clear sky and a passing ladybug grant you a vigorous sense of adventure, and you pluck yourself off of the greenery. You wipe scraps of vegetation and small blue spiders off of your suit, then crane your neck to get a better look around.
>To the east, the plateau cuts off on a sharp cliffside. The rocky wall leads into a gluttonous fissure, spanning no less than half a mile, that appears to be riddled with shiny crystals and rock-dwelling serpents.
>Beyond the gorge is a deep and haunting forest that seems rather out of place in this world of saturated colors.
>You feel a sinking feeling in your gut whenever you look towards the woods.
>To the north, the plateau slopes off onto a soft dirt trail. The trail yields to a wooden bridge after a few yards, and then worms towards a quaint village in the distance. Beyond that village, you spot an enchanting mountain range, complete with a castle slapped on the side.
>To the west, the plateau leads to a river. Something tells you the river leads somewhere where gambling is not only legal, but encouraged.
>To the south is a vast desert. You can tell that rain avoids this whole area. Something large and hulking is trudging across it and moving towards you, albeit at a very slow pace.

It's always seemed pretty clear that he's around the same age as the CMC, maybe a little younger. Where The Apple Lies really fucked that up, though, so who can say. I don't think the writers care enough to agree and talk about how old the characters are. One writer will see him as a little kid, and one will see him as a guy in his mid-teens. Some people think he's supposed to be as big as he was in the episode where greed turned him into godzilla. Since writers have differing opinions, anyway, there's no perfect argument for any of it.

Do Celestia and Luna have favorite stories from their early youth that don't have a lot of traction in modern times? Tales are told in any age, but through re-tellings and later inspired works, not all of the old ones remain as widespread as they may have once been. There are classics, too, though, that manage to make it through the ages - the princesses are just in fairly unique positions to be aware of the differences from experience.
Might be skewed a little with the Crystal Empire's reappearance; that library probably wasn't very current when it returned.

How often does that Crystal Heart pulse for visitors? It seems like it could be quite the attraction, given its striking, if short-lived, effects. But perhaps a bit frivolous use of the thing if it doesn't just produce it as a matter of course. Especially if it needs a dramatic event like being returned to its container after a long imprisonment or being unshattered; those are some extremes that aren't all that conducive to a normal life. Any scholars studying the thing in greater detail?
