Spoilers:
>At once truly appalling and appallingly funny, Blaise Cendrars's Moravagine bears comparison with Naked Lunch—except that it's a lot more entertaining to read. Heir to an immense aristocratic fortune, mental and physical mutant Moravagine is a monster, a man in pursuit of a theorem that will justify his every desire. Released from a hospital for the criminally insane by his starstruck psychiatrist (the narrator of the book), who foresees a companionship in crime that will also be an unprecedented scientific collaboration, Moravagine travels from Moscow to San Antonio to deepest Amazonia, engaged in schemes and scams as, among other things, terrorist, speculator, gold prospector, and pilot. He also enjoys a busy sideline in rape and murder. At last, the two friends return to Europe—just in time for World War I, when "the whole world was doing a Moravagine."

If you're interested in the Bible, this'll help you get a grounding that completely put it in perspective, I think I found the final book for this chart btw. Also, I think the Sumerians are interesting in and of themselves.

Start with the Stone Age cave paintings.
It's a well-designed meme if you're interested in the topic. Fall for it with the assurance that you'll at least come out more knowledgeable.
>tfw I realize he is unironically the Nietzsche of our time, a philosophical genius of the highest caliber
>when the acceleration hits you
he's a pretty interesting guy, all right. more marx/t-1000 than nietzsche but interesting af no doubt & a good reason to Make Philosophy Great Again
the revolution will not be memed
he is interesting but also not nearly on noetzsches level
Was it rape?

The protagonist was a whore.

What was her name anon? Who was it that said no when you asked her to prom, secretly hoping she'd give you a quick OTPHJ as her dad drove you home.

She came, and she seemed to enjoy it.
Why don't Ligotti and all the other philosophical pessimists of his mindset kill themselves? I don't understand their reasons. It's always something like
>Well it's a meaningless act just like anything else
>It's life-affirming
>It's absurd
What are they even saying? Why does any of that matter? Am I just too big of a brainlet to understand, or are they just making excuses?

They're afraid of death. They say they aren't but they are.
because suicide is hard
if suicide was as easy as pressing a button, say, half of the population would be dead by 20

Just started reading the Mothman Prophecies and I'm pretty spooked. Can anyone recommend anything similar to this book. Maybe something more up to date that'll spook me good and blow my mind?

The novel isn't going anywhere, but novellas will make a huge comeback.
Why can't the Enlightenment thinkers, skeptics and ESPECIALLY the analytics into wisdom? They seem to lack the faculty for grasping it, deeper and greater as you go from Enlightenment to the analytics. Nietzsche is all "poetry" to them, because he leaves no "evidence" behind for what he asserts, even though to everyone else what he says is very much self-evident, because everyone else has a sense of what wisdom is and can see where he is coming from.
The same thing is happening with Jordan Peterson right now, it seems. He is not a very original man, but he is a good speaker and he is clearly wise. But people on Youtube and on here seem to disregard everything he says because it is lacking evidence. They seem to disregard mythic archetypes as having no meaningfulness whatsoever. What causes a person to have no concept of what wisdom is like that?
They didnt start with the Greeks.
They can barely sort through finding a basis for arithmetic. Will be a while before they get to wisdom.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that you have to be on the spectrum to be an atheist past a certain age, roughly around 25-30 years old. If this is true it would explain so much.
What can /lit/ tell me about this faggot?
