>2channel is older than flickr, so the ">>" system is actually the original, predating the "@" way of tagging people.
Am i missing something? Thought you guys said this was good.
also was this based off tao lin's mumblecore movie?
>>8290197
Go to bed, Tao Lin
read it again in the original Taiwanese its.much better that way
the English translation isn't good
This book is hipster garbage, don't fall for the meme.
What books give you a lust for life and urge you to live life to the fullest?
>>8290082
Probably Nietzsche - Beyond Good and Evil.
Atlas shrugged
>>8290082
Don Quixote
There is no one better.
>>8289993
who the fuck is that, anon-sempai?
>>8290075
It's John "Convex Mirror" Ashbery.
I've been looking for a copy of Self Portrait in a Convex Mirror for months with no luck. I even found Gaddis, Gas, and McElroy in that time but no Ashbery. I think I'll have to cave and go to Abe.
I've never read any of his books but I hear good things.
What about him is meme? And what about him is good? Genuinely interested, as I see a lot of mixed reviews of him on here
>>8289908
Pynchon is my favourite writer because goofs and so on
>>8289908
Only college sophomore white upper-middle class males read him.
Same for Infinite Jest.
>>8289908
Like every great writer, /lit/ goes through contrarian phases where it pretends to dislike them. Just read him and forget wtf /lit/ thinks.
How hard is to get published if you want to share unpopular ideas? Would it be too risky if you want to enter in politics in a future?
there won't be politics in the future
Present them as satire,
Or create a sci-fi world that allows your views to slip under the radar.
Or present views opposing your own in such a way that readers are driven to yours.
Or find out if Resistance records does publishing.
Your ideas are neither important nor original and your presentation will certainly be lackluster, but pls write about it so the masses can know to keep you out of power
What books made you literally laugh out loud?

Yeah
Also it helps that you really liked girls when you were little and the experience haunts you
Also if you loved a little girl but she just went away.
Oh boy...
>>8289618
nah, just an idiot
Could the story have been told in one novel of reasonable publishing size?
How would you do it?
>>8289569
Yeah, probably
What's reasonable about making less money?

>fourth cover
That's the ugliest dragon I've ever seen. It looks like an old, naked man with a cheap halloween mask on.
What's wrong with HP covers? Why does it always look like they're trying to make them as shitty as possible? It's the best selling series of all times, hire some decent artist ffs.
So /lit/, what fictional literature would you consider to be essential MRA-core? And why?
So far I've got
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn
The Old Man And The Sea
MRA-core would be any books about boys and men dealing with poverty and other male-centered issues, OR that focus heavily on the value of masculinity.
(Fedoracore is a broader category of literature than MRA-core, though MRA-core is definitely a subset of Fedoracore. Reacting to this post with an image of a guy wearing a fedora, while frowned upon, is a legitimate response.)
Note: MRAism is not nazi-tier edgyism; /pol/ need not apply. Also note that feminist statistics, while indeed fictional, do not count as literature.

Please eat a bullet
>>8289452
If you're gonna make such bad bait at least put less effort into it. 0/10
>>8289452
MRA is pleb tier. MGTOW it's where it's at, bro.
I'm about to take the plunge. Still debating which tier journals to submit to, etc.
Experiences? Evil journals you've encountered? Would repeat?

you know about this website? Pretty good to help you decide where to send your stuff. There was another site that ranked online journals by the ammount of Pushcart nominations they got, which sorta serves as a ranking system.
Playing the game just cuz nobody reads novel manuscripts if you haven't published shorts :/

I just wanted to write this to thank everyone in /lit.
I feel this is the best online community to discuss literature (it even surpasses 99% of all the non-virtual communities that I've been a part of).
I even enjoy the "bad" posts; I truly like not knowing when someone is criticizing a book honestly and when they're not. And, to be honest, the people that are just having a laugh bring a much appropriate vibe to the whole thing.
Some of my favorite books I've discovered because of you, and I've also come to have a more critical approach towards those books that I considered to be the "best," helping me to see them under a new light.
Anyway, thank you all for making me a better reader and person, overall.
All the best to all of you.
>tfw you shitpost on /lit/ and get new books to read

Not really. It's dense, but not difficult.
