I continue to remind people that Pokemon Go is almost 99% a reskin of a previous Nianta project that totally flopped. Without the brand recognition of Google and Pokemon, the product is insipid. It's purely superficial. It is not the first and it will certainly not be the last, however it brings nothing to the table in its design, gameplay, or design style.

real advice:

humanities PhD are horrible prospects from a life and career and financial perspective. people do them if they truly autistically love a certain topic and are OK with making a lot of sacrifices for it.

there are almost no options following a PhD if it isn't from a top school (ivy or equivalent) and it's a hard life even then.

doing a PhD at a local uni in cultural studies because you have no other life plans is a HORRIBLE idea, especially if you don't even know what you want to focus on and need to ask us.
