ugh.
He is not wrong about having a "conversation" with the authors and the works you read. He fails to notice, however, that if the conversation goes nowhere it's not because of Joyce, but because of himself.

Wow. Not to one-up you but here's a review of Critique of Pure Reason that I cringed to recently.
Write whats on your mind
Is it possible to hire someone for an assisted suicide? I don't really have the balls to pull the trigger myself, but I've just realized my life is going no where and will likely never go anywhere, so I need to get out now.

This election sucks I hate being a woman I want to kill myself everything is bad I wish I didn't have to ghost write I wish I didn't ever publish under a male pseudonym I wish I just followed through and slit my wrists in a bathtub I don't ever want to be pregnant I don't want children I just want to be alone and I want to be in the fetal position and I want to just give up on life and become homeless and I hate being afraid
I wish I had the courage to just end it
Knowing this place, as it is today, all i'll ever get is mocking for saying this, for sympathy points I don't care
I just want anyone to hear me through an anonymous voice and I just wish everything turned out good
Nothing is good and I want to drink myself to death
I don't want to be scared anymore.
I don't want to cry anymore.

ITT: Pleb-tier statements
>It's not poetry, it doesn't even rhyme
Joel Osteen is so rich. His faith must be strong. Maybe if I buy his books I can be rich, too.
In my Moby-Dick class, we're discussing the scene where Ahab throws his pipe into the ocean.
A guy literally raises his hand and says
>I THINK IT WAS SOMETHIN OTHER THAN TOBACCO IN THAT PIPE!!11 KEKEKEK :PPPPP
The instructor had no idea what to do. She just paused for a second and then called on someone else.

Americans will always be deeply, fundamentally STUPID when it comes to literature and the humanities in general, and nothing will EVER change that.

My patrician collection of memes has been brutalized lads. Worst part is I know she's gonna keep the books if we break up.
What's the best way to organize a bookshelf anyway
>>8561098

I have mine by country of author origin and time period within that.
just...reorganize them...not that hard dude
What's your favourite bookshops /lit/?
Mine is Voltaire & Rousseau in Glasgow, it's run by two old guys who don't use the internet and calculate everything with long division when you pay. It's one of the few places where I still find interesting books for affordable non-ebay tainted prices.
I found this video on it https://youtu.be/a2NiTy7hgVo

Toronto:
BMV on Bloor. Big selection, very cheap. If you go in you are basically guaranteed to find a book you want to read for less than ten dollars.
Eliot's bookshop. Narrow, two floors. Really packed. Disorganized but a lot of good books cheap.

>tfw you suck this bad at reading
does he have any academic merit what so ever, or is he only famous because he says "America sucks" thousands of times
like has he ever contributed anything to academia?
he ruined linguistics thats what he did
>>8557856
of course, how do you think
he got a platform to speak from where no one cuts him off
same with Dawkins
>>8557856
He destroyed behaviorism as a tenable philosophy of psychology. I'd say that's pretty noteworthy
why is Theology accepted in Academia but not Occultism?
church pays
there is an academic community around western esotericism, but its small
one of the major theories is that scholars have treated occultism as "rejected knowledge" its neither theology/philosophy or science
>occultism
>means "hidden"
You're asking why the occult is not taught in schools? Gee, don't know. Write your congressman
