Usage of the word "quantum" outside of a physics discussion indicates a retard. Or, rarely, a conman.
What is a good read from your country?
If someone can name a good piece of Australian literature you're a legend.

Why does /lit/ have a problem with Penguin Books?
Poor qualityPoor qualityPoor qualityPoor qualityPoor qualityPoor niggersPoor qualityPoor qualityPoor quality
/lit/ likes penguin books desu
Their paperbacks are alright. I like the black spine design. So they absorbed Random House right? Is everything published under the Penguin name now or is Random House still a functioning entity?
Disagree with Harold Bloom on some point in this thread.

Everything he said about Bloodmeme and Corncob tortillas YeCarthy is patently retarded.

>At last, posthumously, the shitposts you, a renowned author/poet/critic, have made on 4chan over the years have been collected into a sleek volume entitled "the selected shitposts of [your name]"
What do the reviewers and critics have to say?
>>8595301
How would anyone even have a comprehensive record of anonymous shitposts attributed to a specific author?

What did he mean by this?
People get lonely. If you're immune to loneliness, you're either less than human or better than human.

it means society is collective insanity. That something never seen has the same properties as god or will be branded too base to enjoy polite lies.

he meant the choice of being alone can allude to certain characteristics of a man. what are you, fucking stupid? just go get the amphetamines like i told you and stop bugging all of us.
Why does /lit/ hate comics so much?
Writing is always bad. Yes, always.
it's poison for the imagination.
I don't.
What's your favorite part of the Bible, /lit/? For me, it's the opening of the gospel of John. The whole "light shining in the darkness" thing makes me tear up because it describes a lot of my life feeling like a darkness where's there's just a tiny light that never goes out.

Why does nobody talk about this man anymore?
He is one of the greatest speakers and writers the world has produced and has always been considered so. But while everybody has at least heard of Plato, Cicero has become almost as obscure as any of the other old Romans.
Even here I don't think I've ever once seen a thread about him.

I assume its either Crime and Punishment or The Brothers Karamazov - which one do you think is best?
the idiot
mm, hard to tell, Crime and Punishment is more straightforward and hits the mark like an arrow while The Brothers Karamazov meanders more around and has more themes but the structure suffers a bit. On the other side you can extract whole chapters of The Brothers Karamazov and they stand perfectly on their own so I guess it has my vote as best for now.
The Gambler is my most comfy pleasure, where I always go back when I don't know what to read.

Only read: Brothers, Notes, Idiot, and Crime
Crime was my favorite. I liked the manic edginess.
