Can I enjoy literature without possessing any discernible talent myself?

I stopped trying to write fiction in my teens because I realised all my ideas were just recycled plots and characters from stuff I had read elsewhere. I simply accepted I'm not as talented as the masters and took up a nice STEM job

>how English classes can be reformed to improve Common Core

1. Move your family to a rich white town in New Hampshire with vacation homes that are worth 100k a year in property taxes.
2. Make sure testing is in 85th percentile or above
3. Hear about common core once or twice a year because test scores are high with or without teaching to a test.
4. Get your kids a better education while not even worrying about standardized testing.

No, it's a kid book and your time should be worth a lot more. Even just for shallow entertainment there are literally thousands of better options.
>>
>>8989742
i already read kid book I enjoyed (the OZ books are pretty entertaining). I dont know, i'm searching for some light readings
>>

It's still enjoyable as an adult, the series is interesting and funny. No, they're not "high literature" or whatever, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth your time

I am poor and live in a poor and dangerous third world country. I was dumped by my girlfriend of 2 years on top of that. People keep telling me to be grateful for what I have and try to enjoy life of simplicity.

What are some books/philosophical writings I can read to embrace my life or simply get better at dealing with it?

>>
>>8989570
Try something by a third world writer...

Maybe the Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño?

I don't connect with ethno-nationalism at all, but it dominates the discourse in my country. Given that I'm basically a Marxist ideologically, this makes me feel really alienated.
Pls give me some literature to understand and appreciate ethno-nationalism, if there is any, or I'll just continue to dismiss it as reactionary garbage for classcucks.

The Stranger within my gate,
He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk--
I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock,
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wanted to,
They are used to the lies I tell;
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy or sell.

The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control--
What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,
Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Let's try to settle this once and for all.
I was a victim of the Penguin Deluxe typo volume, but could never find out conclusively if it had been fixed.
So I found another copy, with the page 140 "your task, in these dreams, is often to pens" typo fixed.

What other alleged typos are there in this printing? I can check both now and see if the 'corrected' Penguin Deluxe edition is passable.

I have a 14 day return policy if both turn out to be bad, but it IS a nice copy. I know I am not the only person in history to wonder this, so maybe I can help.

Why not just buy the bantham paperback.

It's more portable, has a better cover, is extremely cheap (I got mine for $4 after shipping) and most importantly is completely corrected.
>>
>>8989180
Buying another copy is always an option and not what I am out to solve. This is a widely available edition which may be more of a valid option than it gets credit for in its corrected edition. Or it could be universally damnable. I'd like the concrete evidence for the latter if possible, but so far don't see it.

Because with the heaps of LNs out there, the title needs to be interesting for the LN to be even opened. Of course, with nips having no soul or shame, it came to this.

What are the best collections/editions of the stories an ballads about these two figures?

There seems to be a lot of work on them however most of it seems to be loosely inspired modern works or analysis on the historical origins of them.

What is /lit/ favorite book on either of these figures?
