Alright guys, I'm a Mur'kan who is interested in owning a firearm (in case of the extremely rare case of self-defense) and going to shooting ranges for sport. What sort of hoops do I have to jump through in the great FREEDOM loving state of New York in order to do these things?
I'm sure my post shows it but I don't know shit here. I don't want to talk to people but what to I have to do to learn how to use a gun and eventually (after learning about the proper usage/responsiblity regarding one) owning my own as a nearly-Tomoko-tier NEET?

Sorry man but it's 7am and I've been drinking all night. I'm actually interested in beginner shooting so I'd like some advice about what you guys would suggest.
come on guys I'm not just shitposting you. I live in the state of NY and want to get into the sport of shooting but I have a crippling social phobia. give me some advice.
German Air Force lost 292 out of 1000 F-104s.
Canadian Air Force lost 100 out of 200 F104s.
British Air Force crashed 100 out of 300 F104s.
1975-1993, 190 Class A mishaps involving 204 F-16s and 217 aircrew.
Indian Air Force: About 350 MIG21 lost out of 1200 built in 60 years. Proper availability of spares pushed up safety in later years much more.
>flying coffin
with those crash rates they had to force criminals to pilot those f-104
So do those Indian Mig21 spend much time in the sky? Having them just sit in the hangars would be one way to minimize accidents, and fit the Indian budget quite well.
That said, the F-104 ain't called the Lawn Dart for nothing.

IAF pilots log some of the highest numbers.
And MIG21 is the cheapest, so of course it flies all the time.
Correction: 800MIG21 and 1200 MIGs.
What say you /k/?

Before my CCW came I was an idiot and got a Kimber Pro Carry II and realized it prints way too much in the summer. I have a sweet deal on a glock 43 and a sig p320 compact. I am 6'3 and 220, what do you recommend /k/?
>>34642061
>6'3 220
"Peter Painter", aka the C96
You could probably hide it on your giant, freakish lanklet body.
Also forgot to note I am open to other suggestions... also meant the glock 42 which will most likely change some opinions. Price on Glock is 370 Sig is 450

Lankish? Might just be low fat bro
So I inherited this turn of the century (SN lookup shows it was manufactured in 1905) Savage model 99 from my grandpa, however it has spent the last 2 decades in my Uncle's garage and hasn't been touched since it was last put away I assume. Overal for 100 years old doesn't seem too bad but I've got some concerns. I have started cleaning off some surface rust and it seems 0000 steel wool and Hoppe's does a pretty good job so I will continue that. However, the barrel has some nasty pitting I will show in a minute. Do you guys think this will be able to be shot, or is it a wall-hanger?
This is the best pic I can get however it seems to have gotten a bit better when I ran some oil through it (I ran 10 hoppes patches of hopped on a brass brush through it and it didn't improve but the one patch with lining oil brought some blue out.)
This side cleaned up OK, haven't started on the bolt yet just the receiver.
This side was pretty bad towards the muzzle. It was all brown. Cleaned up OK though.

I have a 5 round SKS but I want to bump it up to a 10 round. if i don't do that i would like to know what kind of mag pouch/ utility pouch would be suitable for a SKS stripper clip that I have taped to fit 5 rounds for a MOLLE plate carrier. Canadians, kiwis or Californians should feel my pain.

If you have a proper shooting stance then you are not using cover effectively.

My question is why is the old man armed only with a smug grin?
Questions:
Is the shift to Brigade Combat Teams effective, or does it hamper our ability to wage conventional war in favor of low-intensity conflicts?
What is the point of a division now?
Lastly, why does the Army still insist on breaking up regiments across brigades and divisions?
>>34640847
>Is the shift to Brigade Combat Teams effective, or does it hamper our ability to wage conventional war in favor of low-intensity conflicts?
It allows smaller units to be moved faste while still retaining the division as a larger unit. It's more effective.
Instead of moving a division and all their forces and units as one, it prioritizes moving smaller bits, which in turn makes it easier to deploy a whole divisions. It also allows for greater flexibility on the battlefield, as units can be detached and attached easier.
>What is the point of a division now?
They still exist as larger "Big Army" units that can be used in a peer "1v1" fight. It's just in recent years there has been a focus on maximizing flexibility and maneuverability.
>Lastly, why does the Army still insist on breaking up regiments across brigades and divisions?
Logistically easier.
>>34641258
>Logistically easier.
That makes no sense. There's no reason why two infantry regiments should share the same BCT.
>>34640847
It also has benefit of having to-go combined armes. Most countries already has arty on brigade level, but not many have combined infantry and armor.
