I know some of you have it, what do you think of it?
>>34767512
Low effort
>>34767512
kinda meh.
mine was cheap but had problems.
i upgraded to a hk91, get one of those or a ptr.
>>34767532
idk anon, the gun itself is asking how you like it.
Can /k/ help me decide on what rifle is best for me? I am interested in buying a milsurp bolt action rifle. I am most interested in a lee enfield but for pure aesthetic reasons.
I am looking for something that is reasonably accurate - Able to reliably hit a man sized target at 300 yards and have ammo that is less than 50 cents per round but the cheaper the better. Currently narrowed down my choice to either any Lee Enfield I come across, ishapore 2A/2A1 or some Mauser variant.
>>34767478
Either will fit your accuracy requirements, though you may have trouble finding 8mm Mauser for that price. Of course there are 308 Mausers, so you can go that route.
If ammo cost is really your concern then you have to go 7.62NATO/.308WIN
That means an Ishapore 2A/2A1, or Mausers Spanish FR8, Israeli Kar.98k, Chilean M1912/61.
You can find enough Mauser surplus on Gunbroker. Ecuadorian ammo is the real deal Schweres Spitzgeschoss rounds the Werhmacht used for their heavy ball rounds. Yugo is also high quality.
The Mod 98 will probably be easier for you to figure out and maintain than an Enfield if you don't already own milsurp.
If the main criticism that 5.56 is underpowered and lacks range, specifically the m855, why not utilize a magnum cartridge?
>m855a1 debacle
it's not just about speed breh
OP you underaged niggercuck
Have a line on a SAR-1 AK, with the muzzle threaded for a slant brake, the furniture replaced with Russian AKM laminate, and the gas block with its bayonet lug welded back on. Seller (out of state) is asking for $825 shipped to my FFL. Do you think I should go for it?
Pic not the exact rifle, but close enough.
bumping for interest
btt
>>34767191
No. Unless you want it for a collectable, you can get an Arsenal for about the same price and a WASR for much cheaper.
I was in the Midevial thread and I became curious in regards to the practicality of /k/astles and fortified structures in the modern age of air warfare and the likes
So, how practical would a fortified structure the likes of a /k/Astor be today?
>>34766920
not at all.
might work
>>34766935
Let's say you could successfully defend from any air attack, what about then?
Why would people wear different camo patterns on their shirt than their pants? Like the front guy in this picture. Maybe a form of counter-shading?
>>34766769
>You get what you get and you don't throw a fit
>>34766769
90% of the time it's a supply issue.
Woodland MOPP suits and DCU helmet covers where a super aesthetic combo though.
Because you haven't yet been issued the right pattern for the theatre...
But in Helmand - where that photo was very likely taken - the mix works well - hence the change to MTP/Multicam.
Could just be that the top was too dirty/damaged, too!
What would you consider the ideal PT test for basic combat infantrymen.
What would your test entail to separate all those suitable for the physical tasks of soldiering from those not suitable?
Marine CFT is pretty solid

Deadlift 300lbs for 5 reps

I am inheriting 10 Firearms and a huge gun safe from my late Grandfather. I don't know much about firearms other than I have taken a few safety courses and fired a few pistols. I don't know values and I don't know brands so I may try to sell some of them and only keep a few.
They include;
1 AR Style Rifle (Relatively New)
1 Old Rifle (Looks like its from WW2 Era or a little there after)
1 Shotgun (Originally my Great Great Grandfather's)
3 Revolvers
4 Semi-Auto Pistols
How can I go about legally selling the ones I don't want? Do I have to go through a Gun Shop?
I'll post pictures of them all when I get them next week. Until now I don't have any photos because I only got to go look at them when my Grandmother said she didn't want them in her house and I didn't have my phone with me.

0 / 10 bait
Can we have some threads that arent just pure bait for once... or devolve into a pissing contest.
for fucks sake
>>34766408
Depends on what state you're in. Some states like florida you can sell person to person without any paperwork, but I strongly recommend a bill of sale with buyers name clearly written.
I think it's Illinois that requires a FOID to buy guns, but I'm not sure. Basically google 'my states private gun sales laws'
>>34766408
90% sure this is bait, but.
OP, there is a special place in hell for people who sell Grandpappy's bring-back or great-grandpappy shotgun.
What would have happened if d-day failed?
>>34766353
More dead burgers.
>>34766353
the right side would have one.
85% of the Wehrmacht's combat casualties were at the hands of the Red Army. The western front was a sideshow. D-Day failing would have delayed the fall of Berlin by a few months, and that's it.
So when it comes to camo hierarchy- who is on the top of the heap?
Is it multicam?
Or is it one of the Gucci/boutique brand?
Or does the pastel/FDE/Coyote Tan Mr Grey look win out now?
Seems we started with OD and khaki, tried a bunch of patterns, and now we're back to khaki and OD and grey....
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a $5 battle coat and a $50 battle coat?
>>34766327
The best camos will always be varied depending on the environment. I prefer Nordic (and Finnish) camos for my green forests, and Swiss camo for my Eastern US woodlands.
>>34766663
The difference will always be in quality, unless we're talking about surplus, as sometimes the cheap stuff can be better than the expensive stuff.
>>34767463
I live in chaparral type scrubland where there is an even mix of brown sand and dried grass and green cacti and scrub bush plants, so the original woodland MARPAT works best for me. I have a $4 jacket I got at an "antique" (read: "junk") shop, but I never wear it because digital camo feels super tryhard for some reason.
Was this a good gun in terms of its contemporaries in WW2? Would many consider it one of the most important guns in history?
>>34766231
>M60
>Dressed up as an FG42
I.... I never knew I needed this
>>34766231
>Was this a good gun in terms of its contemporaries in WW2?
Didn't really have any contemporaries, but it was a fine enough rifle for the role it had. Definitely not one of the most important, of the period or otherwise.
>>34766318
Basicly the same thing.
all right /k/ i have 380 bucks. give me the best gun i could buy for blasting dindus who jump in the window. preferably a shotgun.

http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/remington-870-express-synthetic--12-gauge-shotgun
Then buy some shells and a sling, you Gucci now
>>34766081
Is Remington no longer cucked by freedom group? What's a sling going to do for HD?
Mossberg 500, or a Maverick 88 and $180 worth of ammo.

How waterproof are the Army's boots? I was never in the army, but I was in the Navy, and our boots were NOT waterproof. They got soaked just walking from one building to another in the rain, and that's saying something considering we spent almost all our time indoors. If we'd been soldiers instead of sailors, we'd have got trench foot for sure.
>>34765602
They're water resistant
>>34765653
Most people who spend considerable time in heavy rains will tell you that goretex and other "water resistant" stuff gets soaked through.
>>34765720
Excactly, water resistant.
Do you think the recent attack at the IRS was chemical or biological?
Also what was used? Im guessing Ricine?? Thoughts?
>>34765598
thats what happens when you steal peoples money to fund their displacement
>>34765619
Wasnt moralizing good or bad, was discussing chemical biological weapons
>>34765887
doesn't change anything
