Would make a good subgun caliber. However, for normal everyday use, there's little it offers over a standard 9x19mm, which is far cheaper both in training ammo & carry ammo.

If your company or country picks up your tab, go for it if you feel like it. But if you pay for it yourself, I don't see much of a point in bothering unless you're rich & have money to throw out the window.

I feel as though .357sig is that classy black girl from your last year at high school
You may have talked shit about her in front of your friends to look cool
But it didn't change the what she is:
Amazing
Now that she's finally yours you realise that she's way better than the vanilla standard and you'd be insane to go back
Sure less progressive people may give the two of you funny looks when they see you together
But they don't know what they are missing
And hey, if they're not into it, more for you

Anyone here bench their own ammo? Thought it would be fun as a small side hobby if it cut the cost down on just buying ammo. About how hard/time consuming is it once you get used to it? And how much does it cost just to get all the starting shit?

>Thought it would be fun as a small side hobby if it cut the cost down on just buying ammo.
It won't, you'll end up spending the same amount of money but have more to shoot with at the end of the day, so only go for it if your range time is fairly often
>About how hard/time consuming is it once you get used to it?
15 minutes, tops to learn, and a couple hours you can make a few hundred rounds depending on your setup.
>And how much does it cost just to get all the starting shit?
roughly $5-$600, assuming you have no equipment at all and factoring in the price of buying boolits, brass, etc instead of recycling.

Check out JiuJitsu and FortuneCookie45LLC on youtube, they both have good tutorials on how to reload, what to buy, and how to cast lead/recycle brass as well.
>>
>>28342518
Like any hobby it cost as much as you put into it.

You can started with about 500$ less if you buy used.
>>
It's kind of like home brewing. It costs more than you thought to get into it, but once you hit critical mass in brass (or bottles) and start buying components in bulk, you can roll your own for pennies on the dollar.

Try a Lee turret press with the accompanying kit. Mine cost $150 many years ago, and it can't be more than $200 now. Then sock away brass, powder, and boolitz plus accompanying reloading dies. Allow $100 more for that. As far as easy... everything's easy once you know how. Buy the reloading manual that corresponds to the brand of bullets you bought and follow it precisely. Speed comes with proficiency.

In my state, to get a concealed permit you are required to take a class from an instructor (general cost: 130-150 USD) and then apply for the permit (application fee: 100 USD). Every five years you must renew your license (renewal fee: 50 USD).

My M&P Shield, brand new, cost me 287 USD. My permit cost me almost as much as my gun. Do legislators just enjoy disenfranchising the poor?

Shotguns can be a pain, particularly if they're chambered for 3.5" and you fire anything shorter out of them, just the sheer volume of gunk really starts to suck. Thankfully there's no rifling for it to get stuck in.

A boresnake is your best bet, because with a traditional kit you'll just go through a shit ton of swatches and never get it fully clean.

Should have gotten a benelli supernova friend

I know that if you shoot somebody in self defense, you must kill him and not just incapacitate. Let's say a person has broken into your house and is trying to murder you. You shoot and injure him to where he is not a threat, but is still alive. Against all odds, you have run out of ammo and you are not able to get more or another gun, so shooting him again is out of the question. What do you do? Beat or bludgeon him to death? Call the police?

No numbnuts, you shoot to stop a threat. Once you're no longer in danger you stop shooting.

What does /k/ think of the NRA? How has the organization changed over the years? Why did they support both the NFA and the GCA, and how does that differ from their current mission?

Even as someone who believes all gun control laws are unconstitutional, I find that many members of the NRA are quick to politicize anything firearm related.

Are there any policies they hold now which are detrimental to firearm owners? Share thoughts, stories, etc.

They're primarily a lobbying group for American gun manufacturers, rather than the ACLU of firearm owners.

I appreciate that they get down and dirty on my behalf, but they don't really care as long as the money keeps flowing.

They're alright. But since they are the biggest it's only logical for all gun enthusiasts to at least support the ILA.

Anyone got anything new on the HMG Sturmgewehr? Do you guys think if this goes well that recreations of famous/historically significant firearms not original from the US might become more of a thing? Not parts kit guns, rather completely new rifles using new technologies but that function the same?

Due to recent developments (live near San Bernardino), finally convinced my wife to get her CCW (she was an avid noguns, I'm a marine vet) so we went down tl the local range to try out some suggested CC pistols. We tried the Shield, the LC9, Springfield XD, and the 26

Now, I've always been very anti Glock because I've shot the 17 and 19 and hated both; they just weren't comfortable in my hand, i hate the aesthetic of them, I hate the rabid fanboyism of my friends that own them, and I wasn't very accurate so I wasn't expecting to like the 26.

HOWEVER, the moment i picked up that little fucker it just felt right... and then i sent a few rounds downrange and I got a familiar bulge in my nether regions that is usually reserved for my Henry golden boy 44. Smooth action, very low recoil, and by my second mag i was able to magdump at 25 yards with a baseball sized group just left of center mass.

Now I want one and i feel dirty, help me regain my glock hate? Pic related is just from google, not my guns

They're fine, but why not just buy a normal folder

Most people will never use a TDI for actual self defense. Using a knife for self defense is just a meme, you are better off just not pulling out a knife at all
