Thinking about it more, be patient and save 2-300 to get a higher quality brand. You won't regret spending more on something you'll know that will be reliable and satisfactory. You could regret buying something that COULD bring problems.

4. Tony: Rarely speaks, took the only M4 in the armory for himself, and everyone else is too scared to try to take it back from him. Shifts rifle between hands when one arm gets tired.
5. Pedro: Plays way too much Max Payne 3. Keeps a water bottle in his vest because carrying two guns at once dehydrates him and it helps wash down painkillers.
6. Alberto: Was just transferred from another department. Only member who has actually received any training.Armory was out of equipment so he has to use a child's backpack to carry ammo.

Catch speak to French muskets (never used 'em), but more than a few factors increased the inaccuracy of the Brown Bess.
First, no sights. Sure, you can try using the bayonet lug as a rudimentary sight, but that doesn't do much good considering it wasn't actually designed for that purpose.
Second, infantrymen routinely loaded their muskets with balls significantly smaller than the bore. This was to help reduce fouling issues (and it did that very well) and allowed the men to fire for longer in-between cleanings.
However, I've found that when I'm dicking around in the woods and loading balls more closely fitted to the musket's bore I can guarantee hitting a torso-sized target at 50 yards. Admittedly, this slows my reload time down quite a bit, and I'm not worrying about cuirassiers sodomizing me in some Spanish valley.
Hey /k/ I was looking for a first time rifle, preferable one I could use to hunt Razorbacks. Does this seem like a good deal? Most other SKS's I looked at were going for around $450-$500 but those had a polymer stock and 20 round magazines coming with them.

Op is looking at either a new AK or a new AR in 20" barrel.
I own a 16" diamondback ar, but Im having second thoughts about the short barrel, as Im really looking for maximum damage possible.
I found a PSA complete rifle (freedom fighter kit with anderson lower) for 400$, but im womdering If I should just stick with my 16 inch and save a few hundred more for a quality AK/WASR.
SO IN SHORT - does it make much of a difference using a 20 inch barrel vs 16 inch at 100 yards, and which would do maximum damage possible to either hostiles/ game
And would it be a better option to look for an AK for damage?
