How do I into ballistic gel?
Cheap ballistics gel alternatives.
I guess you could try water jugs and plywood.

google how to make it with cooking gelletain

Cooking gelatin is fucking expensive per kg, mate.

Is the Lel Kek RFB any good?
>>30622389
From what I understand, the main advantage of the RFB is the forward ejection mechanism, similar to that of the F2000. The idea being, it's more ambidextrous; something like the STG-556 is just going to be pelting your face with shells all the time if you're a lefty.

id buy one if it wasnt 1500 and unobtainium
When technology improves, would a Dreadnought be an effective alternative to a tank?
If rotary blades and treads are more energy efficient now, I'm not sure why they wouldn't be in the future.
The entire "appeal" of mechs is they're allegedly more maneuverable than modern tonks. If the mech can only move on two stubby legs, is super tall with a really high center of gravity, and has really limited speed/visibility/armor, it has no advantage,
The Dreadnought is to mechs as the Tsar Tank is to tanks
>>30622315
Yes of course, but is your tank blessed by the techpriests of Mars and imbued by the common and unending hatred for the ennemies of Man ?
didn't think so.

Good point.
>>30621973
Buy quality ammo and you'll never have that issue.
Are hangfires even a thing anymore? I've literally never seen a round hangfire in my life and I've done a fair amount of shooting

Essentially we need to civilize blacks. No shit.
Or just ship them back to Africa.
>>30621971
This is a good start. It looks like the libs are slowly beginning to understand that we have a social problem, not a gun problem.
I wonder if they'll ever make the connection between welfare programs and ghetto behavior. That would be the true watershed moment.

God damn I hate this argument. They freely allowed normal citizens to carry military grade(for the time) weaponry. Why shouldn't it be the same today?
I just got my Patriot Mag Release in the mail.
Pictures of install. Nothing detailed, because it's nothing difficult.
It's identical to installing a regular bullet button. Mag catch, spring, button, castle nut, thread on.
I'll be discussing mechanical function and compliance to recent California laws SB880 and AB1135.
>>30621556
RIP CALIFORNIAN GUN RIGHTS
PRESS F TO PAY RESPECTS
>>30621556
First of all, remove and throw away the old bullet button.
In terms of mechanical design, the Patriot Mag Release is literally a metal bar welded onto the original bullet button. An ordinary mil-spec mag catch spring is used, instead of the one provided with gen 1 bullet buttons.
The intent of the design is that the welded bar blocks the actuation of the button. It is technically possible to operate the Patriot Mag Release with a tool until SB880/AB1135 comes into effect sometime in 2017.
Once the new laws come into effect, the Patriot Mag Release must be permanently installed by hammering in the included metal dowel.

I've been trying to find a rail or scope to use on my NPAP that actually fits the mount on the rifle without having to modify one and risk fucking it up.
Did your npap come with a rail? If not just buy a MI handguard and be done. Drilling and riveting a rail is so much more work than it's worth.
>>30621279
It didn't come with any rails, only the iron sights and the rail mount on the left side.
>>30621420
What you're calling the rail mount is a rail, just a different style.
They make scopes, red dots, ect designed specifically for AK pattern rifles with the side rail. Just get one of those.
is this rust? "factory new" Colt carry handle I just bought. I thought for sure it was rust when I took the photo, but looking at it now, it looks kinda fibery. I rubbed at it a little, and it didn't come off easily.
>>30621127
looks like rust whoever packed it had sweaty fingers
>>30621127
Just get some 0000 steel wool it lightly rub it off.
>don't use a firearm for bear defense
>bears are super duper strong and they will power through any caliber and rip you to shreds
>they can even kill you after you shoot them through the heart
>for real their skull deflects bullets
>carry bear mace instead

all the normies who say this really need to just stop
the rumor about bear skulls deflecting bullets was from back when they shot bears with black powder handguns
I shoot the trashcan-destroying bastards all the time. Stop being a little bitch.

If Elmer Keith's #5 SAA is such a great design, how come nobody makes a copy of it? I mean a functional copy, with the ergonomic and mechanical enhancements but not neccessarily the fancy engraving or ivory grips. Is the design copyrighted by Keith's estate or something?
No idea.
One of these years when I have the better part of a grand burning a hole in my pocket, I'll have a gunsmith take a Vaquero -- the smaller frame one -- and put a Bisley trigger and hammer and good aftermarket target sights on it, then give it an action and trigger job. That'll get me 85% of the way there.
That's my pet theory, anyway.

I think Elmer Keith's blown-up SAA cylinder is the coolest thing Forotten Weapons has covered, because it's a turning point in firearms history crystallized into a physical object that you can hold in your hand.
All those weird old guns are neat and all, but a lot of them are forgotten for a reason.
