Hey /k/, say a SHTF scenario happens, what do you think is the best overall birdshot round for hunting small game and birds?
>>30608664
I use No.4 birdshot because it cycles flawlessly in my Auto-5 on the heavy load setup.
So that way I don't have to switch the spring setup between bird and buck/slugs.
No.5 works decently well, but I trust No.4 more.
>>30608713
You dont think no4 would ruin pigeons etc?
Nah, they do the same or less because #4 has less shot per oz. You get bbs that carry energy farther penetrate deeper and are easier to pick out #4 all the way.
Will commence dump . Feel free to contribute

Sup /k/, Ausfag here.
We legally have to keep our guns in a safe with the ammo in a separate box, and I'd like to follow that law.
Problem is, in a home invasion it could take quite a while to get to my safe and take out a loaded gun.
So I'd like something that I can keep closer to myself that I could use if I didn't get the chance to make it to my safe.
What's a good melee weapon that I can keep in a nightstand or beside my desk that could give me some peace of mind in case I can't get to my safe?
I'm thinking a large knife like a kukri, bowie knife or machete, but I don't know what would be a good choice.
I have a sword permit, but you're technically supposed to keep them locked up (even though nobody does) and I don't want anything that can bite me in the ass in court.
So what's a good melee weapon for home defense?
cricket bat
Blades are really bad defense weapons.
Baseball or kricket bat

Defending yourself will land you in court. You're better off lubing up and bending over. Either way, someone will fuck you in the ass
/k/ redpill me on titanium, why is it not used more widely in /k/ related products?
It's current year, get good.
>>30601597
Because it is expensive and steel works fine.
In the words of Conan the Barbarian's dad, Steel you can trust.
>>30601625
Were you not willing to pay a bit more for a lighter and more corrosion resistant product?
t. Totally not a titanium retailer.
>>30601667
a bit more is closer to almost 4 times as much for... What exactly? A polymer frame gun would be cheaper, more widely available and lighter.
Sure you can get crazy and make a polymer and titanium gun but who the hell would be interested in it
So police are actually aiming loaded guns in people's faces during routine searches in France

Interesting how much Euro police like those heavy visors.
My friend called me a gun toting moron, and is saying that if an armed robber enters his house he'd just charge them.
I'm utterly shit at arguing, so help me out here

The threat of a chimpout is reaching a probability not seen since the 60s. concerned about keeping the family safe. To me this means being able to use deadly force suppressed. Subsonic rounds are going to be far less effective than a bullet travelling at 3000fps, so to maximize what little velocity it has, a round needs to be designed for subsonic velocities.
Clearly modern pistol JHPs are going to be designed for subsonic velocities if the round is subsonic. Are there any non $2+ a round boutique subsonic rifle cartridges that can surpass a pistol round when fired from an sbr?
>>30614305
reload your own subsonic-300blk if cost per bullet is so much of a concern for you.
>>30614337
With what bullet?
Most rifle rounds won't expand or fragment shy of 1050fps?

Good for COIN air support, in a similar way to the Tucano or that prop plane the Rhodies strapped rocket pods to.
US Military took NASA's OV-10s and is using them to fight ISIS.

I need your help, /k/.
I'm a left-leaning 2A advocate living in California. Last year I built an AR-15 by watchin' the vids on YT. I started with an 80% lower that I had finished at a local CNC. Now I want to do the same thing, only this time I want to build a 1911. The problem is that I can't find a CNC shop set up for that platform and I need advice as to how hard it is to use a drill press to finish a lower.
Pic is my AR build.
>>30621374
you are not building a 1911 with just a drillpress
>>30621374
why dotn´t you just buy a ready 1911 frame?
OP, ignore grandpa fucktard here.
>>30621391
Look up the Ares Armor Rudius 1911, the 80% frame includes a jig for working with a drill press.

From Eugene Sledge's book With the old Breed:
>The veterans in our ranks scrutinized the men of the 8th Marines with the hard professional stare of old salts sizing up another outfit. Everything we saw brought forth marks of approval: they looked squared away, and many of them were combat veterans.
>I talked to a 60mm mortarman who was carrying almost an entire cloverleaf of HE shells on a backpack rig. Asking why he was so overloaded, I was told his battalion commander wanted the mortarmen to try the arrangement because they could carry more ammo than in a regular ammo bag. I hoped fervently that one of our officers saw that rig.
>I also saw a machine gun squad with "Nip Nemesis" stenciled neatly on the water jacket of their .30 caliber heavy machine gun. They were a sharp looking crew.

How do you feel about our soon to dead gun ownership and gun culture?
For the ones that don't know, the EU gun ban will go forward for a definitive vote later this year. They will ban every semi auto gun that can accept mags over 20 rounds.
Is it over?
Should I start selling my semi autos?

What should a poorfag get for a innawoods/SHTF rifle? Is the Nugget still worth buying at $250, or even the SKS at $400 for a Norinco?
Or is the .22 enough to hold off a horde of Syrian doctors and engineers/ disenfranchised youths wanting to hold a prayer session in my living room?
