So today is the anniversary of my sisters death /k/ you might remember me from last year. The story is the same as then and so are my feelings.
She was leaving her apartment to go pick up our moms dog when Tyrone got out of a car and pointed a gun at her demanding her purse and keys. She fumbled into her purse and took out a gun. Before she could even bring it up Tyrone put a round into her chest, got into his car, and drove away. A neighbor heard the shot and called the police. When the police got there 15 minutes later she was already dead; purse, keys, and gun still on the ground. She was officially pronounced later at the hospital. I was the one who convinced her to get a gun. I was the one who took her shooting every weekend. I was the one who paid for her classes. I feel like I was the one that got her killed.
Bless you /k/ and always remember to be safe.
How do you know the story if the only witness was someone who only heard the shot?

DESTROYED

If this is real, do NOT blame yourself.
>no hearing protection
cringe
The thing is, 90% of males back then up 15 had hearing damage.
It was just taboo to talk about.
Even Hitler had severe hearing damage, from world war 1, the dozens of speeches in front of hundred thousands cheering and of course the assassination attempt.
Nobody used hearing protection, not in battle and not in training, and neither at work.
You just had to live with it.
Rifles outdoors aren't too bad
I've fired many milsurps outside without any pain or much ringing
The one time I fired a 1911 indoors twice, however.... Motherfucker.
When i'm hunting I never have ear pro on.
Target shooting you won't see me without it anymore. I can't stand the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE after the way I've treated my ears at the range.
Should have known better.
All threads are dead

I have been reading up on handguns.
Live in NJ and sent away for a pistol purchaser card. (Have to get one every time you want a handgun)
Mag limit is 15 rounds. NO carry in this state unless you are willing to bribe someone or are an ex cop.
What handgun would you recommend in 9mm for learning to shoot? I have no other handguns.
1. Glock 19
2. Cz 75?
3. Sig P320
Any other suggestions?
How is the P320 compact with full slide? I can't stand how p320 standard compact looks.
I keep hearing good things in general about it but what are some things glock does better than p320 or issues with it? All I can find is unending praise?
How bad are stock glock sights?
I figure I need to go out and feel a few but NJ prices for rentals are so high I probably wont be able to shoot them.
Id like to spend under 700 for the gun and some mags.
Pic related the p320 compact model I think doesnt look vomit inducing.
I don't want to say one is better than the other because I only own and have shot a Glock 19 out of your list of three but I like it.
The sights on the Glock are my favorite. Though I will say that I bought Gen 4 and the fucker ejected hot brass in my face. I live in NY and I only get 10rds and I would get 4-5 shots per mag pelting me in the eyes, going under my glasses and burning my eyelids.
Sent it back to Glock twice. Didn't fix it. Tried to fix it myself, agonized over it for a couple months. I ended up fixing it with an APEX Extractor for GEN 3 (The Gen4 did fuck all for my Gen4 Glock go figure)
My Glock 26 Gen 3 has been fine out the box.
Also living in NJ sucks. That sucks. At least up here in NY I have a full carry permit. It's not a perfect situation but at least I don't have to get a license to buy a shotgun. Yet.
Pic related it's where my Glock 19 sleeps.

Gunshop faggot and avid pistol shooter.
I would go for the P320 compact if I were you. The longslide is ugly as fuck though, you have bad taste.
So after much hype I finally decided to pickup a M&P 9mm that was on sale at Academy. Paid about $398 for it and thought it might be similar to my Glocks and HK USP. Boy was I wrong, the trigger is atrocious! My groups expanded dramatically and I could not get this pistol to "work".
So now I considering just selling it or getting an Apex flat trigger installed but at $168 for the trigger kit...should I just sell it and move on?
>>30616208
The trigger ain't bad dude, you're bad. Several years into training and I've never noticed nuances in a guns trigger. In fact I like to be able to feel it pulling and know when it breaks, it's a deadly weapon I don't want any damn surprises.
>>30616283
Thanks for your opinion and jumping to conclusions.
I've been shooting for a bit, recreational since 1995 and "professionally" due to my job (qualifications and what not) since 2003.
I've had to use some crappy triggers in my day and I know with practice "anything" can be accurate but some guns just lend themselves to accuracy better than others. I have 3 HK, 3 Glocks and I lost count of how many 1911 I have. Why do I have so many 1911? Because they lend themselves to accuracy more-so than any other pistol I've fired.
Sure I can "practice and practice" with an M&P or I can just pickup my Glock 19, HK USP or one of my many HiPowers and have fun being accurate out of the box.
My question is....is it worth it to invest in the M&P trigger or just pass?
>>30616283
>The trigger ain't bad dude, you're bad.
Just out of curiosity....what distances do you normally shoot with a handgun? Can you put a magazine in a pie plate at 25 yards? Or do you strictly practice at 7 yards because "...that's self defence distance dude!"
The trigger sucks balls. If it didn't then why is their an entire after market to "fixing" the M&P trigger? You don't see a huge after market dedicated to fixing HK USP triggers do you?
Why are grenade launching shovels not standard issue?
Is it cheap and easy to use?
that's fucking AWESOME! what's the name of this shovel?
>>30616203
Because I can't attach a shovel to my rifle.
I could duck tape, but then I'd be Jamal.

OK. /k/ommandos,
If Russia goes all out on NATO:
Which river is the farthest the Red Army gets?
Why?
And how fast would they get there?
1960s-1980s USSR could have made it to the bay of biscay
modern Russia wouldn't make it past the dnieper
>>30615892
How many troops can NATO even muster in Europe during the first days of war?
>>30615892
I think modern Russia would make it over the Dnieper, NATO has no combat forces stationed in Ukraine, and they would take a while to mobilize if the Russians don't hit the Baltics at the same time.
If the NATO is really off guard, Russia could make it to the Vistula, but when NATO finished mobilizing, there's no way the Soviets don't get pushed all the way back unless they threaten nuclear action.
If you fire a cartridge through a semi automatic handgun, then afterwards remove the extractor, ejector, firing pin, and barrel, melt them down, dispose of them, and replace them there should be absolutely no ballistic trace possible on either the projectile or the casing... Correct?
Also, does a projectile pick up any ballistic fingerprint when fired through a series of baffles that never touches the projectile?

Turn 21 soon, what should my first purchase be besides a stripped lower?
>>30615773
Why wait till you turn 21? ARs are long guns. Buy now.
>>30615888
Some places restrict lowers because you could make a pistol.
>>30615888
you cant buy a stripped lower until 21 because it's technically not a rifle. Seen it happen countless times in person

So /k/ what's your opinion on scout rifles? Are they still relevant?
The only point I see in them is if you live in anti-fun states/countries or if you're shooting suppressed subsonic loads that won't cycle a semiautomatic action, and want a carbine length rifle.
they never really were to being with.
It's great for an outdoorsperson, like a bushcrafter. The Ruger Gunsite comes in .308 and .223 as well, which is nifty, especially since .223 will deal with most things in my part of the country (i.e. no bears). I've been fawning over that rifle for a while now.
>>30615672
no they're special snowflake guns for people who make up purposes where a bolt gun or rifle wouldn't work and a carbine would suck
I got denied my carry permit but my state has no restrictions on the open carry of blades. Would it be too autistic of me to carry a sword everywhere?

it would be incredibly autistic, but you could potentially slay dindus on a metro
