What's the safest way to decock a 1911?
>>31315276
You take out the mag, clear the chamber, and pull the trigger.
As for carrying, you carry with the hammer back.
>>31315276
Being a non-douchebag and not cocking it in the first place.
>>31315291
>You take out the mag, clear the chamber,
pinch the hammer and lower it, is what I do.
But yeah, this.

how fucking sexy is this battle worn patina? anyone got rifles like this that werent refurbed during ww2?
why did soviet communists do away with beautiful cursive calligraphy script
How the fuck does one develop a sense of range, /k/?
When I watch shooters on the youtubes, I can hear people call ranges easily like "500 meters." I'm the kind of person who uses time to measure distance (i.e. 5 minute drive to the grocery store) and i cant use distance measurements for shit.
>>31315029
It's mostly guestimation really.
Also I suggest refences. Personally I use a meme school yardstick in my mind to determine distances.
>inb4 metric/imperial arguments.
I taught range estimation on the US Army Expert Infantry course.
Some of it depends on the time of day. When the sun is setting, targets appear further away. In the morning when the light is bright, targets appear closer. Your view is skewed when shooting over valleys and cuts.
What does it take?
Practice and experience.
go outside find a relatively straight street with streetlights
streetlights are spaced 30-50 meters apart depends on the place but it should be the same distance between lights
pick one as a marker start walking

I was shocked when I found the price for the AK pistol thing. Fucking nice.
Fuck the the Kahr CT45's looking nice, thanks for the recommend. Zastava looks great too, useful as fuck list.
Is this still true
Are there charts for other pistol calibers too?
>>31314855
Aslong as you disregard all the HK options you'll be fine with any of these firearms
>>31314855
make a 10mm list REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Sup /k/
Turns out .22 is more lethal than 9mm. I'm going to pick up a .22 pistol for edc tomorrow morning. I'll probably keep the 9 but I don't think I'll be carrying it anymore if a .22 will do the job far more effectively.
http://www.firearmsid.com/feature%20articles/0900guic/guns%20used%20in%20crime.htm
Than 9mm? I don't see why not, that's a garbage round for target practice. They both are.

.22 is the best self defense round you can buy
Why don't more criminals melt down guns they use for bad shit? Is it that difficult? You'd think it would be the first thing they do, even if it didn't have a serial number.
Guns are expensive.
Most criminals are poor.
They will keep their guns to use again or trade/sell later.
Most crimes committed with firearms aren't exactly going to make you wealthy.
>>31314591
Most criminals aren't white so their intelligence is very low to begin with. At best they may think to throw the gun in a lake.
>>31314608
Gun are cheap.
>use a hipoint in a crime
>damage the hipoint then turn it in for warranty

So I hear when a mother sees her child pinned underneath a car she can generate enough strength to lift the car
I was thinking that because the special forces are so tuned in and keen with the use of their adrenaline that they would experience the usage of this super strength much more often than say, a mother.
So, anybody got any stories of spec forces or even just normal military guys going super hulk mode?
>>31314306
Nope, they'll never know what it's like to be a mother.
t. a mother.
>>31314306
Thats a myth, i believe.
>So I hear when a mother sees her child pinned underneath a car she can generate enough strength to lift the car
Those situations make for heartwarming Reader's Digest stories and chain emails, but no one has ever actually proven it.

>A U.S. sailor delivered a baby at sea — in the middle of the ISIS war
>The carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower's crew proved Sunday that they can simultaneously deliver ISIS airstrikes and babies.
>A third class petty officer from Carrier Air Wing 3 checked into the carrier's medical clinic after stomach pains Saturday. Nine hours later, in the early hours of Sept. 11, she gave birth to a healthy 7-pound baby girl, according to an internal memo on the incident obtained by Navy Times.
>“Both the mother and the baby are healthy and are doing well,” 5th Fleet spokesman Cmdr. Bill Urban said of the new family on the carrier in the Persian Gulf.
>Neither the mother nor her command knew she was pregnant before Saturday, Urban said. Normally pregnant service members would leave an operational command at 20 weeks and would certainly not deploy.
>As soon as it became apparent they were going to have a baby on board, the Ike flew out diapers, formula and an incubator to the ship to care for the infant, whose name is being withheld for privacy concerns, as well as that of the mother.
>“As the baby was born at sea aboard an operational unit, the main focus for the U.S. Navy, the ship and its crew is the safety and well-being of the baby and the mother," Urban said in an email.
>After spending her first hours in the world on board a U.S. aircraft carrier at war, the baby also got her first ride on a helicopter when both mother and child were airlifted to Bahrain with a medical escort. They are currently on their way to a local hospital, Urban said.
>“While it would have been preferred to send her to her homeport earlier, per policy, we are now focused on caring for the health and welfare of our sailor and the newest member of our Navy family,” Urban said.
>Happily, the Ike had the right medical professionals aboard for just this sort of contingency.

2/2
>"The family practitioner aboard Ike, who delivered the baby, is certified in child birth and has experience delivering babies," Urban added. "A number of personnel assigned to Ike medical department have received training to deliver and care for a newborn."
It's 2016, gentlemen
>you will never be born on a carrier
>you will never be a Navy SEAL who was born on a carrier destined to remove haji

I do, but I haven't updated it in a while.
I like your list OP. My own list overlaps a bit:

Do you really need that many tanks?
Also T-14 seems to be slow when traversing on wet and muddy conditions.

Slavs love tanks in general, and war.
So why not just get more tonks?
>>31313753
>Do you really need that many tanks?
Just look on armour losses in Syrian conflict. Yes, you need that many tanks. You will not be able to build new tanks when SHTF.
tanks are the core of your ground forces
Do you need something specifically designed as the MBT? no
But you need something armored that can take hits and kill anything it sees.
