Hey can somebody explain to me what causes Glocks to suddenly blow up and why is it siginificant only to glocks? Also I heard that the new generations of Glocks apparently fixed that problem.

I'm quite new to the gun world and I've heard lots of stuff about it which is why I am concerned and why I'm asking.

I think its generally when people use +P ammo or something. I'm also interested in this. Looking at getting a 19
>>
Early Glocks chambered in .40 didn't have adequately supported chambers. So when they shot some really hot shit, the gun couldn't handle it.

And it's not really significant only to Glocks. Any gun that fires a double-charged reload has a good chance to KB. You just see a lot of Glock KBs because they are hands down the most popular make of handgun in the US.
>>
>>31884340
Due to manufacturing defects the failure points of some glocks were not milled down to the precise tolerances required to ensure fragmentation, resulting in a gun that could be fired dozens or even hundreds of times before properly detonating

Modern glocks are calibrated with lasers to ensure they explode on the first round 99.97% of the time.

What are some things that I as a prospective officer can do to finish a job efficiently and be the best possible leader to those that I'll be tasked with?

Have any more advice? Like what of the enlisted people at the base level?

Thanks in advance.

Tell your NCOs to fuck off, they'll hate you either way. Don't worry about trying to be a "good leader". you'll never be one, they aren't real. Everyone in the military is a giant douchebag, just act like them.

Why does Belgium have such a petite little navy? It's a wealthy, developed coastal nation, but its fleet is puny compared to other Euro navies. Its ships-of-the-line are two Dutch frigates launched in the 80's. What went wrong?

10/22 for quality, reliability and accuracy.
I have never shot a 10/22. I just felt bad that you have no replies.

Literally the same.

Ignoring that fucking retarded comment in your OP, the 10/22 because it has a MASSIVE aftermarket, and more choices in magazine size/capacity.

I would love to see an almost witcher-esque game where you hunt monsters, but in modern times.

You take contracts on spooky innawoods monsters and you go and search for them and kill them.

>Goatman harassing a local neighborhood? Gear up and take it down.
>Skin Walker making people go missing in the woods? Prepare your white ash and 45-70 and go hunting.

You use your contract monies to buy new funs and fuel your pickup truck to go back hunting spookers in the woods. Then you collect trophies that will provide buffs against other monsters.

>>
>>31884194
Exactly. Maybe Coop too so you can operate innawoods against Wendigos with 4 of your buddies.
>>
>>31884242
Yeah, but not MMO or geared towards coop, only optional.

Anyone in /k/ have a norinco SKS? I just put one in layaway today and was wondering what stripper clips would work on it? Ive read around fourms that clips from amazon or ebay is a hit and miss. Plus any advice in owning one?(pic related)
22 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>31884000
Only ever handled Russian SKSs, but I've seen a vid where someone takes a Norinco SKS to either 500yd (450m) or 500m (550yd). Either way, fucking awesome, and I dare say you're no your way to owning a rifle you'll come to love and enjoy for years if not decades.

Never heard of any issues with clips. Just practice with them and you'll be alright, I figure. Be sure to clean it after every trip to the range if you shoot surplus. Hell, you ought to clean it after every trip ANYWAYS. Not like it's hard; SKS is piss-easy to field strip.
>>
>>31884000
You might need to file down the ends of the clip, but at 2.75 for ten it's not a huge issue
>>
>>31884000
Have you looked into simply buying surplus that already comes on clips, then simply reusing the clips?

Trolls and BS aside how many people have experence with both high end 1911s and regular 1911s? How do the two compare? Are $4000 1911s really worth it?
100 posts and 14 images submitted.
>>
>>31883851
Is any $4000 gun worth it? At that point you might as well save 2k more and get a barret.
>>
>>31883851
We had this thread a day or two ago.

$4k for a 1911 is not worth it. It's a minimal performance jump for big bux. 1911s have been around for long enough that normal gun makers can make a great one for $1k. It's like a 2016 Honda vs a 2016 Benz. Does the same thing, but one has a richfag name and performs slightly better.
>>
>>31883870
I'm just wondering. Because I have the Colt (pic related) >>31883851 (not my pic) and like it a lot. I've got some odds and ends added to it to make it more like the Wilson Combat. Just wondering how much better the fit is between the slid and frame and so on to make it worth $2500 over what I have into my 1911.

Incompetence thread.

Did your company/platoon had any Abu Hajaar?

>shooting range
>guy we called "praying mantis" was preparing his FAL
>lieutenant calls his attention about his trigger discipline
>he says "what?" and turns to the lieutenant
>loaded rifle pointing at the lieutenant
>"ARE YOU CRAZY?" and gives hims a weak push
>he is so skinny and weak he falls on the ground and his rifle falls pointing at the other people around
>they almost piss their pants and yell at him
>he stands
>lieutenant yelling at him for being such a retard
>he aims at the target
>shoots
>his cylinder was set to grenade firing
>he gets hurt because of the recoil

The stories i have about this guy...

Why doesn't anyone make a 12 gauge break action (or pump) pistol?
NOT a shotgun, but a firearm with a rifled barrel designed to be shot with one hand.
Therefore it would not be a shotgun (which has a smooth bore) or a rifle (which would be shot two-handed).

because it would be a destructive device
anything over .50 by default is a destructive device
12 gauge is exempt through the sporting purposes cause which they can change whenever the fuck they want
like hey fuck the streetsweeper banned now

Get in faggots we're reclaiming the North.

Seriously though, Irish Army's last main battle tank was 8 Comet tanks given to them by the Brits in the 60s (meaning the tanks were antiquated WW2 era tanks).

Why can't we get some real MBTs?
33 posts and 12 images submitted.

Because the last full scale war the Irish fought was the Irish Civil War.

You're not supposed to buy tanks -after- a war starts.

Ireland isn't fighting any war at all though. 1) They won't and 2) They can't.

http://www.defensenews.com/articles/canada-widens-the-aperture-in-search-of-new-warships

>VICTORIA, British Columbia – Canada has opened up its competition for new warships to designs still yet to be proven, despite its previous commitment to purchase only off-the-shelf vessels.

>The change will allow more domestic firms to participate in the multibillion-dollar acquisition of what is being called the Canadian Surface Combatant since a new design is not wedded to foreign systems. In addition, the change would provide Canada potentially with the most up-to-date technology. “You want to make sure that what you get on offer reflects not only what’s tried and tested in the market but also what’s coming on the market,” explained Lisa Campbell, assistant deputy minister of acquisitions at Public Services and Procurement Canada, the department overseeing the procurement.

>Irving Shipbuilding Inc., of Halifax, the prime contractor for the project, released the request for proposals package to pre-qualified bidders on Oct. 27. Twelve firms, mainly European, have been pre-qualified as either ship designers or combat systems integrators.

>The Canadian government’s decision to change criteria for the designs it accepts now allows BAE Systems to bid its Type 26 design for the surface combatant project. The United Kingdom is still negotiating with BAE on a timetable for construction of those vessels.

Makes sense

It's already being built, so building more is going to be cheaper for each country, and they use current proven tech so no crazy F-35 nonsense.
>>
Should just buy supercarriers built in korean or chinese shipyards based on commercial container ship hulls.

I'm sure anything built in Canada is going to be a total disaster

Why does Canada even have their own military?

I think that instead there should be a system why Canada bequeaths 2.0% of their GDP per year to the US for the purpose helping to pay salaries for US military personnel.
